The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
It appeared as though Valeria Delaney was not the kind of woman to wax poetic about her husband, but perhaps that was just as well, considering he didn’t always know what to say when it came to matters like that. Temperance and Thom both had an admirable eloquence, particularly when talking about the other - or, at least, he assumed Thom had that when talking about Temperance, seeing as he was well-spoken in all other matters - that Ber very much lacked. So he was content enough to leave the personal conversation at that and follow the Chief Petty Officer as she continued the tour.
They walked down the steps into the main deck, which looked even bigger now that he was standing on it, and then she turned and led him into what was clearly an office. As she offered her explanation, he glanced over at the desk, curious as to whether there were any maps still sitting out. “How do you know where to go?” It seemed like it would be easy to get lost on the open ocean. Then - Oh. They were back to the personal questions. Scratching the back of his neck, Ber lifted a shoulder in a shrug. “It’s okay,” He said. “And, I suppose so - it never really came up.” A pause. “What about you?”

there was still a few mops around the ship as they was walking around, Valeria smiled as she looked at Ber for a moment. "We have studied the stars long enough that we know roughtly about where we are, even if we can't see them. plus over time they've been rough maps made of where each land mass is, so we know what the rough course of action is. It take times to learn and after soo long you know in youtr gut where home is. If you know where home is, everything else is easier." I explained. She did love her husband but she could sense that Ber might want a brack from all that lovey dovy stuff for a bit.
"yeah I suppose ever since I was old enough to pick up a sword I knew I wanted to be a woman in the military and I love defending my country working with different people. Like I never work with the same group of people. Every time I go out, different set of people. it is exciting, like now and then in the crew I will see people I walked with before and it is like meeting up with old friends.
Ber eyed the maps curiously as he listened to Valeria explain the methods they used on the ship to navigate across the open seas. Generally preoccupied with one physical activity or another - drills, running, sparring, whatever - he didn’t spend much of his time in any offices pouring over many written records of any kind, so most of what he saw was unfamiliar to him. “There are… other land masses out there?” He asked uncertainly. “And… stars?“ Even at night, the layer of clouds that had obscured the sky his entire life remained unbroken.
Her resolve to defend her country even from a young age was admirable, even if having such a clear path ahead of him for so long was an experience he didn’t personally understand himself. “You must know a lot of people, then,” Ber mused. “If you’ve worked with all of them and they become like your family when you’re out at sea.”
