The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Rhedara made a face at the thought of making an enemy of any of the officers. Doing that would put huge obstacles in the way of her desire to move up in the world. Not to mention that if one of her peers found out she'd framed them, they might purposefully look the other way if she were in a sticky predicament. As Stormcrest said, it was better to be subtle if she were to do it at all.
She wondered briefly if she had said too much. It wasn't a great idea to let on that your knee jerk reaction to stress was to slap 'em with a curse. He didn't appear too disturbed about it though, so maybe she hadn't let her mouth run off with her.
He didn't seem like the type to snitch, anyways.
"Don't worry," she said, setting her empty bowl back onto the tray, "I won't make a habit of it. Not good for the reputation and all that," she started to stand, grabbing her tray as she did so, "But I'll try and warn you all the same, so you can make yourself scarce."
“Thanks in advance.” Ber’s dishes were empty, too and had been for a little while now. When she rose from the seat, he did as well, heading back toward the mess hall and falling into step beside her if she was doing the same. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of Shannon. While every witch in the military wing had the ability to curse others, he hadn’t had a conversation quite like this with any of them - particularly one where she freely admitted to cursing someone in the past. That was telling, wasn’t it? If she’d done it before, then she could do it again.
Unless Shannon had anything she wanted to discuss, Ber was content to walk in a somewhat companionable silence. After returning his dirty dishes and tray, he would turn to Shannon and offer a polite, “Nice chatting with you,” before heading off on his own.

Rhedara walked with Stormcrest back into the mess hall. She didn't know what else to say, so she didn't say anything at all. She thought it would have been uncomfortable or awkward, but it wasn't. Stormcrest came off as a quiet guy, and she didn't know him well enough to read him. Had he been uncomfortable with her talk of curses? Even though she was sure everything was fine, she had an odd feeling that maybe she should have rambled about something else, something that wouldn't turn away a potential ally.
But what was done was done. She'd just have to live with the consequences...at least he couldn't assign her extra chores like Woodwick.
"Nice chatting with you, too," she said to him after putting her own dishes and tray away, "See you around."
