The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
She snorted at theental image, well aware that she couls end up there. "I already decided to threaten kneecaps and shin bones if anyone doesn't listen to medic orders, after all the stories I've heard in the last day alone."

He chuckled, softly, because her comment concerned him slightly, but not enough to make a note of it. "They're not going to get better if you're breakin' kneecaps." Aldrich leaned back in his chair. "Stories?"
"I wouldn't actually do anything to them, cept maybe some bruising, but they wouldn't know that." She grinned.
"Oh yeah. There's been a problem with soldiers thinkin' that they can just sign themselves outta the healer's wing before they're actually cleared. Or they try to sneak out. So's, threats to make them stay. But only empty threats, I promise."

Aldrich raised an eyebrow. "Do they now?" If that continued happening, they would have to look into it more. He hoped it wouldn't be an issue. The soldiers would be idiots to sneak out of the infirmary before they were fully healed. "As long as they don't see through these empty threads, I see no problem with them", he said with a soft chuckle.
Elletta snickered. For all that the healers and medics had mentioned how they would like to take drastic measures to keep their patients in the healing wing until they were supposed to be released, there wasn't any actual threat to their words. Simply frustrations that didn't help the slightly less-than-friendly attitudes towards soldiers in general.
"Don't think that's something to worry about since no one actually wants Commander Usher to come down on them, if that helps."

Aldrich laughed and nodded with an expression that said 'that's fair'.
"Well, hopefully there won't be too many soldiers in the infirmary until the war. But training swords should prevent that from happening." He did feel like they'd have to do a training with actual swords soon, just so the soldiers got the hang of it.
Elletta lingered for a few more moments before she started to yawn again. Honestly, she was probably going to wind up taking a nap instead of grabbing that coffee. Or both, maybe.
"I should probably get outta your hair, sir, and grab that coffee. But, really, thanks for the jacket, even if it did get ruined." She gave him a less awkward wave as she made for the door. "Hope things calm down soon."
