The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
He gave her a single nod, and perhaps the most of a close-lipped smile that he could manage at the moment. He felt for her, really he did. He knew her parents were awful. He knew they were criminals, willing to use their children to better their own lot in life. Every child deserved a better parent than that, and he had hoped that the little he could do for Zarha would help her help herself.
But in doing so, he could see how she might have come to view him this way. It was no fault of her own, and it wasn't as if he didn't care. But he cared for all of the soldiers. He wanted them all to do well, to survive and be strong. He couldn't afford favoritism, and he wasn't sure he had the capacity to be more to her than what he already was. "Yes, I am fine with that, if she's willing to give you the lessons. If you do decide to go in the direction of leadership roles, you will need to have a better grasp on such situations. Build up your confidence among others outside of military situations. It will be good for you."

Trying to keep calm as right now she want to walk away as in this moment she felt self-conscious. felt silly. "Thank you captain." She takes a deep breath, it was slightly shaken. "Can I please be excuse now sir? I know I shouldn't shy away from awkward conversations, but.." She ran her hand behind her head, "Plus I have to up early for Patrol, don't want to be tired." There was a hint of feeling in the laugh that came out as some feeling came out, like she know she shouldn't see Warren like a father. Yet with her own father she never had a positive male role model to guide her in the world in which she lives in. Nobody who want to know how she was doing and really care how she was doing.
She know he just doing his job and that possible why she feel so self-conscious about what she said. People say open up but she hold these emotions in for soo long. Zarha looked up to him for some form of guidance.
He opened his mouth to say something, but then stopped himself. He hadn't intended to make it awkward, but he could see why she would feel that way. Still, he felt a little guilty - for what, he wasn't sure. Not affirming her, maybe, or perhaps just for the life she had been forced to live.
He paused, turning to her, his hands still behind his back. "The best thing you can do for yourself, Ms. Sliva, is be the person you feel you need. When you can rely on no one else, you can rely on yourself." After all, Warren's son had relied on him, and he was gone. "But while I'm here, I'm happy to help where I am."
Taking another deep breath, he gave her a nod. "If there's nothing else, yes, you may be dismissed."

Be the person you feel you need. Zarha doesn't know what she needs, the past couple of years it been her trying to get by being a soldier. Nothing more then being a soldier, that she kicked out the thoughts of having friends, scared of getting close to anyone because she was scared to loose them. "Thank you sir." She gave a weak smile.
When he said she could be dismissed she bowed her head slightly. "Goodnight Captain." She turned away and quickly walked away embarrassed would be a understatement. When she got to the bunker she quickly went to her assigned bed and hid under it. She cannot believe that she said that Warren was like a father figure to her. Within the next hour she would fall asleep.
