The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
As she lifted up to kiss him, he couldn't help but smirk at the way she stood on her toes. For the first time that night, he was reminded of his wife. She'd been even shorter than Regan, and was always lifting up to her toes to greet him on the occasion that he came home. If only he'd come home more often.
He hesitated to wrap her up in his arms and pull her against him again. She was making her leave, and as much as he wanted her to stay, he couldn't hold her back. Instead he kissed her, then rested his forehead against hers and inhaled.
"Goodnight, Regan," he said, then blinked and rubbed his eyes. "Or good morning."

Regan grinned, fingers lingering on his cheek before she pulled away. Without another word, she started for the door, taking one last look at him over her shoulder before quietly letting herself out into the cold night air. She felt relief like she hadn’t felt in a long time.
With dawn quickly approaching, Regan made her way back to her quarters. She got cleaned up, readying herself to approach the new day. By the time she’d finished the last buttons on her fresh uniform, the calm and comfort that she’d been holding on to were gone.
The fire was back, and once again, the wolf was hungry.
