The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

“True enough,” admitted Rhedara without looking at Zarha, “So when you’re not catching toads with me or training, what do you do?”
Rhedara cackled at what Zarha had admitted to doing, “Goddess, that had to have been awkward!” she snorted, “What did he say to that?” She really was curious, “I can see why you’d think that though…there is something fatherly about him. He is a good man though…I once helped him pull a carriage out of some mud and I fell in for my trouble. I was all cold and wet, and he gave me his coat to wear,” she shook her head as she stuck her shovel in the dirt again, “I was swimming in it. I must have looked like a child!”
Her digging that time was fruitful. She bagged another toad.

When she not training what does she does, working, on patrol, reading. Not much to do when you basically living in the barracks till Warren finished investigating ones parents. "Reading." She was starting out small in things to do.
When RHedara laughed. "He explained that I can trust him, followed by the words 'as your Superior.' it his job to help me to be the best soldier I can be. Before I left he explained that it best for me to become the person I need but well he is here he will be happy to help." It was hard for her to have a figure in her life that wanted the best for her.
When she explained about the coat she couldn't help but laughed softly. "Sorry, I shouldn't of laughed but I would of loved to see you swimming in his coat. I can picture that his coat felt warm." It wasn't one that was romantic in the way she said that, but one that maybe a person who want a warm hug."
As she spoke she was digging a spot but didn't manage to get a toad.

Zarha said that she read for fun, and Rhedara paused in her digging to look at her, “Really?” Reading was a luxury a lot of commoners did not have. She herself could read…her noble mother wouldn’t let either of her children grow up without being able to read well enough to at least read anything they had to sign for, or in Rhedara’s case, read what was needed for potions. She wondered where Zarha had learned to read. She vaguely remembered Zarha saying once that she grew up in the slums where illiteracy was very high, “What do you read? Spell-books, or one of those novels the nobles love so much?”
She continued digging and found another toad. She smiled. She was getting a good haul for this time of year!
“Sounds like Woodwick was trying to help you save a little face!” She laughed, “You have more guts than I do then…I would have had so much trouble looking at him in the face if I admitted that to him,” she nearly put her hands on her face in embarrassment at the memory of wearing the commander’s coat, but stopped just shy of smearing dirt on her face, “I don’t know who didn’t see me. I tried to give him back his coat, but he made me wear it all the way back to the castle. I probably should have been skipping instead of walking…it was really warm though. And it smelled really good which was an odd thing to notice, I’ll admit it.”

Zarha gave a soft smile. "it recently new thing." She only recently managed to read more then one word at a time and having to ask people how what a word says, or listening to other people say a spell. It only because Warren is paying for a tutor for her to have a better chance of advancing her career beyond being a private. He keep telling her that she has potential. He even let her lead a session for a group one time. "It just a simple spellbook at the moment. I only have spell books at the moment." Like one day she might want to buy more books however that was a luxury that has to wait.
A smile was on her face even though she didn't find another toad.
"I wanted to run for my life and hide so much as soon as I said it. However, he told me I can't run when I am in uncomfortable situation. As one day there was this rude noble lady and ohh I wanted to punch her in the face so bad. I explained my worry to him cause I knew she was coming to complain to him about me and Stormcres. However he explained that he won't let anything happened. Let just say Woodwick showed her." Her face was amazing though when she realise she wasn't getting her way.
"What did it smell like?" That was a strange thing to ask she know but she want to know.

“Nice!” Rhedara smiled, “Makes it a lot easier if you don’t need to just memorize everything, huh? I know it makes brewing potions easier.”
“That’s right,” she said, searching the ground for another potential spot to dig, “Can’t always run. Much better to take on on with your eyes up so you can at least see what’s coming at you,” she listened to the story about the rude noble lady and looked up from her digging to make a face, “The nobles are a little full of themselves are they?” Not that she blamed them. If she were rich and had all that influence and power, she might be a little insufferable too, “At least Woodwick was on your side…what’d you do to make her so mad?”
She finished digging the hole. No toad.
“It smelled surprisingly clean,” she said, “I only noticed because…I wasn’t expecting it to smell like it’d just been washed.”

"I still struggle with some of the bigger words but so i know i have to be careful if i am going to practise that one that I don't fuck it up. I don't want to go wrong and do unwanted damage." It was true though sometimes it only take one letter to change the whole meaning of it and can cause what ever you are casting/doing goes wrong.
"Me and Stormcreast didn't do anything but breathe. I think she had it more out on Stormcreast then me. Kept suggesting that he would take advantage of her daughter. Like saying that it our fault that we didn't arrive sooner to get rid of the dogs that bit her daughter which in the nd sadly killed her. Like the girl was the sweetest girl ever. I was only informed about that case when Stormcreast informed me that i needed to go on a case with him that day." it was truly a long day.
As she was talking she dog a hole and nothing.
Zarha laughed softly. "yeah I didn't expect that."

“Always good to be careful,” Rhedara nodded, “I remember when I was just learning to do potions, I got in a big hurry. I was so excited to brew one, I just couldn’t wait right?” She glanced at the other girl before going back to her search, “Well that was that potion I botched. I didn’t get any sleep because I was throwing up so much.”
She listened to her recite what had happened with the noble and the dog. She made a face, “That’s rough,” she said, glad that it hadn’t been her, “Grief will make you do a lot of crazy things though,” she dug in a promising looking spot but got nothing, “Maybe she just wanted to blame someone,” she shrugged, “or maybe she was just an uppity noble. Plenty of those around.”

Zarha listened as Rhedara talked about the potion she botched. "Yeah, I heard that brewing potions if not careful can be dangerous. I am happy that, I assume didn't leave any lasting damage." Even though she wasn't that knowledgable in making potions she know that it can be dangerous if brewed wrong.
She wasn't having luck with the frog department as she listened to Rhedara. "Who knows, the only nobility I experienced are within the military. Even then I only talk to them when I mostly training." It was true she doesn't really talk to them outside of the military setting. She doesn't really talk to many people outside of military setting to be fair.

“Yeah a lot more than vomiting can happen with a botched potion,” the results could be interesting, too, but it was best to make them the right way if the witch wanted to for sure avoid disastrous consequences, “Only lasting damage was the memory of me throwing up,” she laughed, but there was no humor. She dug into the ground and only found a rock.
Rhedara shrugged, “Yeah that’s about my experience with the nobility, too, unless you count my mother. She was born noble.”
