The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Eirwen was impressed, the girl could clearly take a hit she could clap but of course that wasn't a full blown backhand. Still the girl had resolve and grit, "you like it don't you sister?" Eirwen cackled barely ducking under the girls staff but the whack on Eirwens knees sent the girl down to one knee...teeth grinding together she still wore a twisted smile..., "shouldn't have stopped," and Eirwen would sweep Xanthe off her feet...
"Like it?" Xanthe eyed her, brow furrowed. She knew the Dresmondi soldiers had been beaten and twisted so much that they now devoted their lives to the Eldouir. Had it made them impervious to pain as well? Had it made them like it?
Xanthe hoped she would never be like that.
Yet she found herself somewhat excited when one of her hits connected, cracking against Eirwen's knee and sending her to the ground. It didn't seem to faze the soldier much, though, and before Xanthe could respond, or swing, she was knocked off of her own feet and onto her back, the air pushed from her lungs.
She rolled over onto her hands and knees, gasping for breath. She already wanted to quit. Nothing about this felt satisfying, but she couldn't just stop now that she'd started. So as she caught her breath, she grabbed the staff and used it to help push herself back to her feet. "Okay," she said with a tired nod. "Next time don't stop. Got it."

Eirwen felt the pain of the whack against her knee as she stood taking a few limping steps to push the pain away, they weren't taught or trained to succumb to pain just to push through it. She would approach the weapons rack herself picking up another staff then return to Xanthe, "now do it again...I'll defend...and then you defend..."
Xanthe's eyes followed Eirwen as she walked to the weapons rack, picked up a staff, and returned. With another deep breath, Xanthe nodded and prepared herself. This time she thought to try it the opposite way. Maybe Eirwen would be expecting her to go high, then low, so instead she aimed the first hit low, at Eirwen's knees, and the second one higher, against Eirwen's shoulder.

It wouldn't be as easy as getting free shots this time, that was over, her blood sister needed a crash course. Eirwen blocked both attacks with more vigor than Xanthe putting more into the blocking before spinning out to the right of the blockage of the high attack attempting to whack Xanthe somewhat lightly across her back...
Eirwen blocked Xanthe's attacks with ease, shooting down any silly hopes that maybe she was some kind of prodigy, and in the end moved so quickly that she managed to smack Xanthe across the back. The force pushed her forward somewhat, but she didn't fall. Her back did arch with the pain, but she had a feeling that Eirwen hadn't hit her nearly as hard as she could have.
Although it still hurt, Xanthe knew she couldn't give in just yet. So instead of resetting, she just swung around, aiming the staff at Eirwen's side, and if that was blocked, she'd aim for the backs of Eirwen's knees.

Eirwen as tough as she may be had moments she was so hell bent on teaching Xanthe the same way the Eldouir trained her...viciously...without cause to abandon mercy (no Eirwen wouldn't kill her new sister). However oversight hurt and did hurt, Eirwen blocked the high attack eagerly going for her own when THWACK!
The staff cracked her in the knee, while she didn't go all he way down Eirwen took a knee, "fuck me to tears," she laughed and acted in pain at the same time, those tears that come when something hurt just enough formed in her eyes before being blinked away, "that was good...ouch though...but good...," Eirwen pushed back upright but she was definitely fairing a net of safety with her leg, "I overplayed you..."
