Raff managed to jam the swords under the second door, just as it whacked him in the left knee. With a muttered swear, he turned around to find the three soldiers all looking up at him. Feeling multiple eyes on his back and a growing roar of a crowd that the mp's weren't doing a goddess damned thing about, he hoped that Stormcrest wasn't about to turn chatty.
Wish fuckin granted! With precise gestures and a calm word front, he'd assessed the pair and gave him the details without wasting anymore time on this crazy mess.
"Good work then Stormcrest. Moll, Flanders, head to the Infirmary now and I'll get back to the both of you when we're done here. Dismissed." He returned his attention back to Ber.
Terach gestured toward his eyebrow with his hand, his fingers an inch apart, looking like he was merely coming down with a headache. Not too far from the truth actually. Raff needed to make sure that Halleck didn't try anything with his back turned so since Ber was the closest, he got the job. He swung his head toward the kitchen doors and called out firmly,
"Halleck get over here. I'll be right with you."
The cook came out to stand in front of Ber, a large wooden spoon still in hand.
"I duno what he's so mad at now. Them two on staff duty are always a pair of trouble with them being cousins and all." she complained to the soldier, and shook out her apron.
"I don't need that kind of grief on my shift!"
He was reaching breaking point at the overall incompetence of what was supposed to be crowd control and he strode angrily toward the crowd of noisy nosey people there to gawk. With a loud whistle, Lieutenant Terach raised a hand over his head in a circle, crooked two fingers and gestured in front of him, his dark blue eyes snapping with temper. It took some shuffling for about ninety seconds, but they finally remembered they were soldiers and lined up quietly two by two.
Glaring hard at the idiot soldiers that couldn't figure out on their own how to form a pair of QUIET orderly lines, he turned on his heel and strode back to Stormcrest and Halleck. Raff stood to the side of the doors to make sure no one passed the threshold on either side. It was time to wrap up this dinner and a show and get it back to only the dinner portion.
He clapped a hand twice on Ber's shoulder and then fixed Halleck with a stern eye. A vein throbbed in his left temple and although the situation was a little further under control, Lieutenant Terach's temper, most definitely was not.
