The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Rhedara nodded, seeing the other limitations with the scenario. Everything would have to be a case-by-case basis, but hypotheticals were nice for exercising the mind.
At first, Rhedara wasn’t sure what Valeria meant from her apology, and she thought back to what she’d said in her answer. She must have shown some sort of a reaction when she’d thought of her mother.
She reached over and pat the hand that Val placed on her arm, “It’s fine,” she said, “I just thought of something unpleasant is all.”

Giving her a reassuring smile. "I understand. There are nights I worry that I get the news that either My dad or my Husband... Keir are killed because of the hands of war. some nights i wake up from a bed dream seeing the soldiers head who sadly died at the ball. However, instead of that soldier who it was I see Keir, or Commander Usher" She pause for a moment.
When she asked about the baby a smile reappeared on her face. "Should be quiet soon now, I hope it is anyway, like it is killing my back. However, it brings so much joy. Do you want to see the nursery?" She asked only a few people have seen it and she enjoys showing the babies room.

Rhedara was glad Val didn’t pry about what she’d been thinking about. She didn’t really like to talk about the day her mother died. Too painful, too much guilt.
Val’s description of her own fears for loved ones would likely inspire Rhedara’s imagination to bring her similar nightmares, “It’s um…really rough when they’re away isn’t it?” She smiled, but there was no joy in it, “I was the first in my family to join the military,” she said, “I’ve never had to deal with any of my family going off to war or being stationed somewhere that could end up being bloody,” she stared into her tea cup, not really sure why she was sharing her feelings like this with a virtual stranger, “It’s not easy being left behind is it?”
Being pregnant seemed rough. Rhedara couldn’t blame Val for wanting that baby to pop out of her, “I’d love to see the nursery.”

"It is, growing up the commander he was still in the Navy, so they was time i wouldn't see him, wondering when he will be coming home. The amount of times I would wrap my arms around his legs to stop him from going. It, however, made me cherish the time we had together. The amount of times we played, and did food fights. Played hide and seek when it was thundering outside. Those memories i hold on when he was away." They are the moment she knew she can hold on to.
When Rhedara said she would love to see the nursery, she couldn't help but looked excited. Slowly standing up. "It basically one of my favourite room in the whole house." Slowly walking upstairs holding onto the banister for balance. "Do you have any siblings?" She asked her as she was lead upstairs.
As they headed upstairs she turned left towards the Nursery. When she stopped to the second door to the left and pushed the door open to show a gender natural room.

Rhedara understood what Val meant by cherishing what time one did have with loved ones. She’d cherished the times when her family had been together, even if she hadn’t realized how much she cherished them at the time. She cherished any time she got to spend with Raff because there hadn’t been a lot of time to spend with him before he shipped out with the new military scheduling. In the end, you mostly had memories when all was said and done.
Rhedara stood to follow Val to the nursery, “I had an older brother,” she said, “But Tate died in a sudden squall when I was fifteen,” they never did find his body.
The nursery was beautiful, but Rhedara didn’t expect anything less from a noble. Even for a child, everything appeared to be fine quality, she didn’t dare touch it—not in front of Val anyways. It was wild that some people had enough funds to have a whole separate room for a baby. Even wilder that there were so many toys…but she supposed nobles could afford to do things like that.
“It’s pretty,” Rhedara said, stepping into the room and looking around. She didn’t see any other doors, “How do you hear the baby cry though if it has its own room?”

Val's smile dropped for a moment. "I am so sorry to hear about your lost Rhedara." She said apologetically, she wish she could help but depended on how many years ago it was would depend on if they even had a chance to find her brother's body.
Smiling softly watching as Rhedara walked into the room. "Mine and Keir's bedroom right opposite and we are planning to have both our doors opened so I can hear the little one. Hopefully, we can figure out a schedule so the little one doesn't wake up every hour." She knows she going to have a wet nurse who going to be in a room nearby and they going to help with the feeding. However, Val wants to make sure that she is there for the key parts of her child's life.
"Rhedara, if you or your family ever need anything or just a girly talk or a pretty dress I am here for you."

“Thank you,” she said, “It happened a while ago,” it still didn’t make the loss feel much better. Tate had only been the first of her losses the year she’d turned sixteen. Rhedara wouldn’t say much more about her brother’s death, it had happened nearly three years ago, but she didn’t much like to talk about it.
Val explained how she’d hear her child crying, and Rhedara nodded. She still didn’t quite grasp the whole thing…she didn’t have younger siblings, but she’d seen the cradle sitting in her parent’s room before it was clear that they weren’t having anymore children. Nobles really were strange.
The noble’s offer was…generous. Rhedara was facing away from her, still looking at the baby’s room, so Val wouldn’t have seen her bite her lip before she turned around to face her. It was very nice…almost too nice, and it made her a little unsure of Val’s intentions.
“Thank you,” she said, reminding herself to not sink any boats until she absolutely had to. She didn’t have any family, hadn’t for nearly three years, but she might have one again one day—especially if things eventually went that way with Raff. She could use a connection like that for Cady, or for any children she’d have with him, “That’s very kind of you, but…why?” she hoped she didn’t sound ungrateful, but she had to know, “You barely know me.”

Val knew that Rhedara had every reason to not trust her. The first time they really interacted was at the ball. Giving a soft laugh mostly at herself more than anything. "Maybe because I see a little bit of me in you, headstrong, independent, confident and want to make a name for herself. Sometimes it nice to have a little bit of girl power to have your back." Plus she also a bit of daddie's girl. Hadrian always know it hard to tell Valeria know when she have something set on her mind but he loves her for that.

Val’s words were believable, despite only meeting the one time. That wouldn’t be difficult to deduce if one looked at her track record, but it was possible that Val had just felt a kinship toward her. At least Val didn’t get “hothead” or “impulsive” from her impression of Rhedara. Rhedara’s mother often used those words to describe her, and she wasn’t entirely wrong about it.
“That would be nice to have,” Rhedara smiled. It wasn’t a terrible thing at all for a noble to take a shine to her, but she reminded herself to not get cozy. Her dealings with Keelan have been teaching her that there could be much more going on underneath the surface.
“Do you have any names picked out for your baby?” a diversion, but Rhedara was curious. She wasn't wanting any babies anytime soon, but they were still exciting little what-ifs, and the best way to get someone to feel closer to you was to show interest in things they liked—especially if those things were their pets or their children.

Valeria smiled softly when Rhedara said it would be nice. Growing up when Hadrian was away with work, she wanted somebody similar to her own age to play with so she wasn't alone. Like she did have the staff at home to play with, however it not the same as having a brother or sister to play with. It often made her think why Hadrian never settled? Why he never found a wife of his own and start his own family. Was it because he was scared that he would lose his wife to the same fate his sister died of. Or scared that if he had a family of his own, Valeria felt like an outsider? It does make one think a bit.
"Ora, if it's a girl. Named after my mother. Something to remember her by and to carry on her legacy." Smiling softly as she traced the necklace Hadrian gave her when she was eighteen it was the only thing that Valeria has that belonged to her mother and hopefully one day if this one is a girl she can pass it onto her when she was eighteen.

They were still standing in the nursery and Rhedara again thought about the differences between the nobles and the commoners. She’d not grown up on the streets, but her family wasn’t particularly well off either. Even though they were able to have a home with enough bedrooms that she did not need to share with her older brother, they certainly didn’t have the space for a room specifically for a baby. She remembered seeing a little box that her parents had used for a cradle—they’d hoped to have more children, but Rhedara and Tate had, in the end, been the only surviving kids that they had. She still didn’t quite comprehend why they’d keep the baby in a different room…but maybe she’d have an idea whenever she got around to having children.
“That’s a pretty name,” she smiled. It was a good idea, although she wasn’t sure if she’d name her own daughter after her mother. It wasn’t something she’d ever thought about before then. Rhedgra eyed the necklace that Val was touching, but didn’t verbalize her question. For all she knew, Val fiddled with her jewelry all the time, “What if it’s a boy? Will you name him after the captain commander?”
