Rhedara didn’t feel the pain of the cut right away, the slice had happened so quickly. Then she felt the heat of her blood seeping before the pain registered in her head. Her reactive cry was more of a hiss, but she was still able to get the words of her curse out. Not her best moment, she realized as her eyes started to water from the pain. At least her curse had kind of worked…it was comforting to see the other witch’s hair move about the way it was.
Kat reprimanded her, and she slapped her hand over the slice in her arm, taking the time to try to stop the bleeding since Kat wasn’t currently swiping at her, “Yeah well…” if she’d realized she’d be cut up that day she would have brought supplies, “An incantation seemed too much since they're really...violent,” so many years having it drilled in her head to not permanently damage her allies did not do her any favors for what just happened. The presence of the knife and the lack of any armor on the both of them should have made her not care a bit about damaging Kat though.
She looked at her arm, then at the knife in Kat’s hand, dripping with her blood, “But since I now know you’re not pulling your punches…” she would have shrugged if her arm wasn’t still throbbing. And bleeding. Right.
The curse would last a few minutes yet, so Rhedara bent down and pulled a knife out of her boot. Since she’d been cleaning when Kat found her, it was all she had with her. Raff’s little talk with her before she left inspired her to keep something sharp on her at all times. If she had time, she would use the blade to start a cut on the hem of her tunic and she would tear a length and try to wrap it around the slice. No sense in bleeding out if she didn’t have to.
Now that she knew exactly what Kat wanted as far as sparring, Rhedara felt a little thrill. She'd never had something so high stakes or a situation where she could just use her magic. She still didn't want to kill Kat, but that would just be a challenge now, would it? Hurting her had a bigger appeal since the cut might just leave a nasty scar.
