The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

“That’s rough,” Evanthe couldn’t imaging keeping that all in the way Kat had. She herself surely would have had steam visibly coming out of her ears at the very least…her husband’s balls chopped off and fed to him. Kat probably did the smarter thing if one was to look in the long-term, even if it wasn’t the satisfying thing to do, “Well you can talk about him now, and we can bash him to our hearts content. If you have some of his clothes, we can cut the crotch out of his pants to be symbolic.”
“The way I see it, if you love your kids and will cut anyone who hurts them, that’s all they really need at the end of the day. The rest can be figured out as you go.”
"Did you know I had to throw the whore out of here because she was too much for one of the doves? And as for Fabian. I think I'll talk about him very little. He doesn't deserve a second thought, and everyone will know what a coward he was anyways." She felt good about that, leaving him in the dust where he belonged. The man had been a weakling for a long time, and he had just finally shown the rest of Skia what she had seen.
Pinching her brow she nodded. "The problem is I'm not always around. My sister got slaughtered in the woods and no one had said boo on the matter. Surely the same could happen to my kids." Shaking her head, she would never say it aloud, but without a manly figure for the house of Winters, it was more likely to be cast aside.

“Too much for them?” What did that mean? Evanthe raised her eyebrows, all sorts of pictures being painted in her head, “Wanted too much, or just…too rough?” Evanthe was the last person who would ever claim to be prudish, but behavior that was too much for the doves must have been awful if it required someone needing to be kicked out.
Kat’s plan on just not talking about her late husband seemed good to Evanthe, “That’s what he deserves, I say,” she toyed with her empty glass, “A footnote and a bad portrait is all he’ll be now.”
Evanthe had not known the details about the death of Kat’s sister. Angry as she was with her own siblings, she could not imagine what it would be like to loose one like that. However, she did know what it was like to lose a child, so she understood Kat’s fears, one mother to another, “I understand,” she said, and threw away the brief thought to sugarcoat what she would say next. Kat was made of tough stuff and it would only be insulting if she was anything but open about this, “But that’s life, right? Especially living where we do, being around the kind of people that live here. If someone doesn’t knife them, then a witch might curse them. If it’s not those, even your own family—“ goddess it still hurt. The betrayal was still fresh even though seven years had flown by. She clutched her glass and tried to keep the fury out of her voice, “or your own family could screw you over when they’re supposed to help you…but your family sticks together, so maybe that won’t be a problem for you,” that hadn’t come out the way she wanted it to, but there it was.
