Keir smiled at her request but he nodded, "Yes, of course but the Commander has weathered more than you and I. He'll be fine, but you have my word I'll stay in contact with him for you and tell you anything if it's alarming."

Keir kissed Val just after the subject change, "Going back to being a regular soldier has been a big adjustment and these younger recruits are...sorry to sound so rude...but their pretty dumb, training them has been a challenge but I'm throwing myself into the thick of it."

Keir was a strong man, all of his life spent training as a soldier for war, so he lifted Val easily allowing her legs to wrap around him as he kissed and carried her to their bed. He laid her down softly as his fingers began to work on the laces of her dress, "I love you," he whispered against her lips as he switched from her laces to the small lace below his neck and shucked his own shirt.
