The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
It nor everyday, the King's huntsman visited the wards which in a way a good thing but Kora know that there was a lot of pressure to make sure she gets on her feet and well enough. Kora made sure that she was put into a private area so Regan can get as much rest as possible, cause Spinal injury isn't a laughing matter, it can easily end a person career in the military. Thankfully they do have potions to heal mostly everything, but the Human body do a lot of the work to.
It was early money and Kora doing her routine check-ups and she thought it would be of best interest if she started with Regan. She popped her heads round the privacy curtains to see in Regan is awake, if not, she carefully place a hand on her shoulder. "Ma'am, it time for some potions." Kora was thinking if things were going well they can check on how her movement going.

Regan had been a troublesome patient — as was to be expected. The discomfort and pain were hardly the things that bothered her most. The containment, the distance from Cassian, and the loss of her fire were of the things that had her snapping at the healers and grumpily trying to get up before falling back to bed.
When the fire couldn’t her comfort, the pain did. Regan preferred that to the numbness that spiked down her arm and turned her legs to lead. It’d get better, they said. In a couple of days an things would improve. But Regan didn’t want to wait.
When Koralia came from behind the curtain, Regan was propped up on some pillows, staring at the ceiling as if it were to blame. She directed that energy to Kora, asking with half-hearted irritation.
“No chance you got some whiskey to wash them down, eh?”

Kora have heard that Regan is a problematic patient, but Kora always tells the staff that we can't just walk away because somebody is giving them a hard time. They still have a duty of care, a duty that they are responsible for. Also, when working with people who could possible get them fired because they got scared wasn't something she let her coworkers do When Regan asked if there was some whiskey she could take with the potions there was a soft laugh. "I wish." Giving a warm smile to her as she placed the potions on the bedside table. "How are you feeling today?" She picked up one that hopefully will ease the pain enough so hopefully could move her arms and legs more.

Regan sighed in resignation, leaning back into her pillows. It wasn’t this woman’s fault she was here; Regan hadn’t quite figured out who was to blame. Her current problem was that she had too much time alone with her thoughts to be tolerated. Regan needed a distraction, to be back on her feet, and—most importantly—to be back at Cassian’s side. Regan’s deepest paranoia was that if she were gone from it too long, Alys might slip back into place in her absence.
“Better,” Regan said, “Restless, I guess. The pain’s less but my fingers just…” She tried to move them, and they didn’t quite comply.

Kora looked at Regan's hands when she tried to move them. Thinking for a bit she then goes to the curtain and calls for a passing Nurse, "Excuse me can you get some warm water for The Huntsman please." she know moving joints in water will be easier. Once she did that walked back and took one of her hands putting some pressure on it. "How does that feel?" She was checking for the sensations, seeing if she could at least feel her hand on hers.

Regan had to give the woman credit; her gentle confidence proved a far better bedside manner than that of any of the witches that had tended to her thus far. Perhaps that was the result of experience, but perhaps it was also the outcome of natural talent.
When the healer pressed on Regan’s hand, Regan could feel it—but only just. After a moment, Regan tilted her head from one side to the other.
“Sort of. Feels like…pins and needles. Or just cold. I don’t know it’s…different.” There was an unmistakable but subtle note of fear in Regan’s voice.

Seeing the slight fear in Regan's eyes, her softness grows. "That is a good sign, it means that you still have sensation there." Placing both hands on top of one, she gave it a reassuring squeeze, she might not feel much of it, but the sentiments there. After a moment another healer walked in with a bowl of warm water. Placing it down on the table next to Regan's Bed.
"So we are going to help the muscle and joint moves. The warm water helps relax them making it easier for them to move. sounds like a plan?" She asked her because it all about working together.

Regan grunted in assent. She didn’t like being waited on—or cared for, whichever it was. It made her feel useless, which she supposed she was at this juncture. Following instructions, she’d dip her hand in the water. Regan made a sour face of concern, brow scrunching up as she felt the heat on her wrist but not in her fingers.
Still, her hand relaxed while her body did not. What if this was what she was now? What if she never regained what she once had?

Kora saw the expression on Regan's face however, Koralia didn't want Regan to worry as she wasn't the sort of healer who let her patients down. They will find a way together. "tell me if it hurts." It wasn't really a question. Kora needed to know if it hurt when she started moving the joints in Regan's hand around. "if this works we can move to the rest of the body. I know you've been trying to stand up without assistance." Regan was a determined young woman she would give her that, a good quality but rushing something like healing could give her more problem then she wants.

Regan waited for pain, but found none. Just tingling and numbness. She slowly shook her head, her agitation fighting with her growing fear. Fear that she might never be the same. Koralia’s comment about how she’d been trying to stand solicited a tiny sigh.
“I don’t like feeling useless,” Regan grumbled, “And I’m of no use to anyone in here.”

Kora stopped as she looked at Regan with a firm and kind look. "Do you think I be working with you if for a moment I thought you were useless? There is just something in the way and we are working together to get this thorn out of the way." She takes a deep breath. Trying to think of the right thing to say.
She then moved the bowl to the table. "I want you to swing your legs if possible and try and sit up. I am going to see how much you can do." if she did she move to stand in front of her leaving enough room to stand up. putting both arms out palms side up. "I would like you to try using my arms to stand, but remember to not push yourself, if you feel any pain, or discomfort sit down. I would like to see what we are working with." She want Regan to see that she isn't in this alone.

Regan liked authority. She liked being told what to do, having clear ways to please. Koralia’s firm look hit its mark. Regan’s shoulders sagged, and she nodded (though she still grumbled). Regan dried her hand as best she could and swung her legs to the side of the bed. When Koralia offered her hands, for a moment Regan hesitated. It was fear. Fear that she might not have the strength she once had. It was easier not to know either way than to have her fears confirmed.
But the only way was forward.
Regan grasped on to Koralia’s arms. Her legs shook as she stood, buckling a little which made her grasp Koralia’s arms more tightly. Koralia no doubt would see the fear in Regan’s eyes.

When Regan did what was asked of her she felt like that was a small win on her part. Wrapping her hands softly around Regan's arms mostly for support more then anything else. There was a warm encouraging smile as Regan started to stand up. When her legs buckled she tightened her grip on her making sure she stayed standing up right. Seeing the fears in Regan's eyes. "Keep your eyes on me." If she can focus her attention and have faith. If Regan looks at her it gives a I have faith in you sort of look to it.

Regan did as she was told—which wasn’t entirely a surprise. It’s the mode in which she preferred to operate. Not to think, but to do. To do at to please by doing well. This was just another opportunity, or so she told herself. Regan looked at Koralia as instructed, trying to find her footing.
“Okay…” Regan breathed, “Okay, I’m okay.” She gripped Koralia tight enough that her knuckles turned white.

Kora's hand form a firm grip on Regan, supporting her, never taking her eyes off her. Once she fully stood or as much as she is able Kora nodded, she knew she could do it. As Kora steps backwards she would in a firm but calming voice, "Keep you as on me as you step towards me." Kora doesn't go far, in case Regan needs to sit down. She hopes Regan knows that she was going at her pace and if she told her to stop she will stop. From her time with her someone telling her what to do, giving her task, is helping her.
