The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

He considered what she said and found himself agreeing with it. Religion was something for those with time, or the really unfortunate. If you were busy trying to get by, and working long days, you didn't have time to pray before bed. Isaac definitely wasn't a religious man himself, although he had been in Nevermere for some time. It just wasn't his thing. Not a lot of men seemed to follow this Goddess anyway. He had mostly heard women refer to Her in conversation.
He then smiled at her. "I would like that, although I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I can't read." He didn't like telling people that, but it was the truth. He hadn't gotten the chance to learn yet.

She wasn’t shocked when he said he couldn’t read. Many of her peers couldn’t read, after all. She’d been lucky. Her noble born mother wouldn’t hear of either of her children not being able to at least somewhat read and write. It had come in handy for her when she’d taken up a job with Lord Morrigan, “Doesn’t mean we can’t try. Maybe I can help you read,” the offer was made without her really thinking about it, but after she said it, the idea grew on her.

"I would like that", he said with a smile. The remainder of their talk would be pleasant and before they eventually split ways, he would let her know where she could find him, so they could read together sometime.
