Prudence, Winnie’s maid answered the door at the knock, “Lady Whistlebottom is expecting you,” she said, her voice was gravelly as if she spent more time shouting than whispering, “Please, follow me.” And the maid would wait long enough for the countess to enter the dwelling before leading her to Winnie’s parlor, where the old woman was waiting.

Annabeth would find Winnie sitting in her chair by the fire, although the old woman would rise as her arrival, “You must be Lady Porter,” the old woman smiled, “Please do sit down,” and Winnie would sit whenever Annabeth did.

The maid vanished, but quickly reappeared with a tray of tea things that she would set on a table between the women. When the maid left, Winnie would reach toward the pot and pour the two of them tea, “How do you like your tea, my lady?” And she would prepare it however the younger woman wished before handing it to her with a lavender cookie.

“I like to begin these things by getting to know you a little,” she said, preparing her own cup, “Please, tell me about yourself and what sort of a man you are looking for. Feel no need to hold back, any details will only help me.”

Annabeth followed the maid into the house giving her a warm smile. Eyes keeping forward as she followed them to where lady Whistlebottom was. She is doing this for her daughter, her daughter's happiness is at the top of her list. It will give people less reason to look at her when she is out with her daughter. When she led her into the room, she gave a warm smile. "Thank you."

When she was offered a cupof tea she simply said "Yes plus,just milk no surgery." She explained.

When she was asked to tell her about herself she thought for a moment, she wasn't here for her, yes she was here to find a man, but she was looking for a father for her daughter. "There isn't really anything that I can share because there isn't much to me. i am mostly here to look for somebody who could be a good father figure to my daughter, She is at a ae where she is noticing that she doesn't have a father figure and i want that for her. I am here formy daughter happinessand that is it."

Winifred finished preparing her own cup of tea as she listened to the young woman speak. After Lady Porter finished speaking, Winifred would remain silent for a moment, contemplatively sipping at her tea.

She set her cup down before speaking, “You wish to have a father for your daughter. That is very good of you, I think,” she started, “However, it is still very good if you like the man that is a father to your daughter since you will be married to him and will possibly have more children with him. So I find it very important to know what sorts of traits in a man that you would find important,” she took out her notebook and flipped to a fresh page, “All I know so far is that he must be paternally inclined, a family man. Would you like him to be of high rank? From a large family, maybe? Easily amused?” The old woman offered the prompts in a gentle tone of voice. She’d had people come in much like Lady Porter. In Winnie’s experience, people such as these simply need a gentle push.

Annabeth listened to Lady Whistlebottom. "I honestly don't know, I have had two failed marriages, both with two different men who I thought I loved but my knowledge of what love is or what I would like in a man isn't the best. So I don't know what I would like in a man, just as long as he makes my daughter happy."

She takes a soft breath. "I would like a man who listens to me, and cares about my opinions. Doesn't mind that I get scared or emotional or shy but encourage me to be the best person I am."

Winifred took pause when the girl said she’d had not one, but two failed marriages. That indeed was not a good track record, and the old woman wondered if she should match her up with any of her clients. Winifred’s goal was for the marriage to stick, after all.

“Two failed marriages?” There was no censure in her voice. She only allowed curiosity to show through. No need to antagonize her, “Indeed, it seems you have not much luck with men. Pray, forgive me for asking but please understand this question only comes from professional curiosity, why did your two previous marriages fail?” Surely she did not approach them the the indifference she was showing now.

Annabeth looked down softly worried not that she shouldn't of said that she had two fail marriage of course it looked bad on her. Looking down when she asked about what happened. She did agree with the divorce of her first marriage that won't say anything. "With my first marriage, he cheated on me with several women throughout our courtship and marriage, he even confessed that he never loved me, he only said that he did because he believed that to him I was just a settlement prize. I was never the woman for him." She explained.

Then Castiel she takes a deep breath, "With my second marriage, he pushed me away and believed rumours over his wife it even got to the point where I was losing sleep crying and I made a foolish mistake because I needed somebody to say everything was okay and I believed them, and now I am here because I need help Lady whistlebottom. That woman who made that mistake it wasn't me, I would never want to harm people I really love, I am determined to make this work, I need help, I don't want to be the woman living in the past because doesn't everyone deserve somebody to love?" Her eyes were soft, scared because she doesn't want to die alone.

Winifred truly felt sorry for the girl. She truly had not had any luck when it came to men. Winnie made a note to look into those rumors—she was behind on her gossip, it seemed. However, the girl seemed sincere enough, and had finally admitted to what Winnie knew to be the truth all along.

“Ah!” She grinned as she set her teacup down, “See? You do want love, my dear, not just someone who can be a father to your children,” she leaned forward in her seat, “Your ill luck has made you very depressed, I think, but you know what you truly want under all that sadness,” she put two more cookies on Annabeth’s plate, “One cookie for each husband. The sugar will help with the bitter.,” she said, taking a bite of her own lavender cookie, “Tell me what kind of men your previous husband’s were. Were the marriages always very rough?”

Annabeth looked softly of the cookies on her plate that Winifred placed on, apparently to help with the bitterness. if only it was that easy, just to eat away ones problems. "I do want love, but Trixie's needs is high on my list." A man who can be a great father for her daughter is on the top of her list.

When she asked about her previous husbands and where they were always rough, she took a deep breath. "my first husband, he was kind, caring, he knows the right words to say at the right time. However, he was a playboy. Even though I knew that I saw throw it and hoped that he loved me. Our marriage was complicated. before we got married, I was a victim of one of the Eldouirs and I think that put a strain on our marriage because for a while i was scared to do the act between a husband and wife." She explained. "I also feel that I didn't argue, I didn't fight. I was too nice, am too nice, so when he told me he cheated, I didn't react how most people do."

She took a deep breath as she took a bite of the cookie and drank some tea. "My second marriage, He was stubborn, highly independent, didn't like asking for help, and arrogant however, he was great with children. We was married for years and I thought we had a happy marriage, then not long after Trixie was born he started to distant himself from me. I don't know what happened, it just liked he changed over night. he was very protective."

“There is no reason that you can’t find someone to love as well as a good father,” Winifred said gently, “The two can easily go hand-in-hand. Just remember, be careful of any man that tries to court you. Make sure that his intentions are pure, and that he is truly a good man,” she held her finger up and wagged it twice, “Don’t settle.”

Winifred listened to Lady Porter’s speak about her husbands. Truly Winifred thought that Lady Porter’s main problem was that she was too much of a pushover, and probably had bad taste in men. She made a few notes in her little notebook, “I am so sorry to hear that the Eldouirs hurt you. How are you doing in regards to that now, my lady?”

Don't settle, but she wants to settle, she wants to be happy she wants to move on with her life She doesn't know how to do that on her own though. She trying to be, but she has been so used to getting told what to do. So when she finds the right man for her, it going to be interesting for her, not to settle on the first man just because.

How is she feeling about what happened with what happened? how can one answer that? "No one can truly heal from what happened, no matter how much I try, there are moments where the smallest things trigger it.It is what it is though, there nothing I could physically do to stop what happen from happening."

“I’m very sorry that happened to you, my lady,” and Winifred meant it, “That is not something anybody should go through.”

She drank the last of the tea in her cup, “I may need some time to think of a good man for you, Lady Porter,” she reached out to the pot to pour herself some more. She’d refill Annabeth’s cup if it was empty, “From what I am hearing, we will need to carefully vet the men for you,” the girl seemed to have poor taste and perhaps poor judgement of men. That along with the horrid experience she had, Winnie doubted finding her a man she’d find agreeable would be an easy task, “I have one or two in mind for you, but I will need to poke around a bit,” she’d have to see if these men would be open to a woman that might not want to be a wife in every way.

"You don't need to be sorry for what happened to me Lady Whistlebottom. You weren't the one who did it" it was true though. She wishes people stop apologizing for what Hiram did to her, it was Hiram who did this to her, not everybody else. Annabeth accepted that refill of her drink. "Thank you." She gave a warm smile.

When she explained she had to vet the men and that she would need to poke around even though she had one or two men in mind for her. She looked down at her refilled cup. "Thank you, may I ask? when, if there is somebody... will there be anybody willing to oversee the first meeting? I want to be careful and I don't want to rush into it I want to make sure i marry a man who i am happy to be a wife for." She asked. She want to put in the effort and she has no friends her age for guidance.

“I would be happy to chaperone any meetings that I set you up on,” Winifred stated with a smile, “I will be sure to watch for any untoward behavior and that nothing is not seen due to the rose colored lenses of romance,” She’d done such a service to plenty of young people. Usually, it was because one of her charges was of a very shy nature, but watching for any premarital ravishing or precursors to horrible behavior was not an unusual thing for her to do.

“While I search for a man for you, my lady, I suggest that you take this opportunity and freedom to spend some quality time with your children. I daresay that that is what they desire most in the world right now.”
