The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Yeah, it hurt, but nothing Pietro couldn't handle. It was certainly not his first tattoo. He remained still as he watched her work, listening to the words she spoke as she worked her enchantment. He both admired and envied her. She was so incredibly talented and he was lucky to have her as his sister.
When she finished he stretched out his fingers as he looked down at the key. It was actually really well done, she had artistic skill too it seemed. He grinned at her question and looked up at her. "What about the cupboard in [insert little sister's name here]'s room where she hides all her sweets?" he said with a mischievous smirk.
Cala was proud of her work. It looked pretty good for a first time, and she hoped it was only the sign of more to come. Eyes glinting she nodded her head with a laugh. "Oh perfect, she'll be so confused and we get sweets out of it!" She looped her arm through her brother and practically skipped to the room. Standing at the doorway she looked over at Pietro with a hopeful smile. "Well lets see if it's just going to work or just be a fancy decoration."
His finger still ached from the freshness of the tattoo but he knew that that feeling would fade over time. He grinned and let Calanthe guide him towards their sister's room. It was harmless fun though he knew that an enchantment like this could be used for far more sinister things if he ever had the desire...or more likely if it was ever required of him by his family.
With a sparkle in his eye and wiggle of his brow he brought his hand slowly towards the lock of the door. After a moment they heard the subtle but unmistakable sound of a lock being released. When Pietro tried the handle it pushed open without a hitch and Pietro let out a small, impressed laugh. "You did it, Calanthe!" he praised her, though kept his voice quiet in case their sister caught them.
Calanthe watched, unable to take her eyes off the lock. It should work. It would work. It just had to work. And just like that the lock popped open as it was supposed to. Eyes alight she grinned and wrapped her brother in a hug, barely containing a squeal of delight. Her first real enchantment, she didn't count the silly things they had her doing in the classroom.
Snagging a sweet she twirled it in her fingers. "Well we better get out before she gets back. And I better get this back since I've got a lesson, well fifteen minutes ago!" Smiling she gave her brother one last hug and took one last took at her good work before heading out of the room. It had been an amazing rush to work on the enchantment, and certainly she needed to try more. "Get ready for mooooore Pietro!" Blowing a kiss back at the her older brother she left, skipping her way back to her studies.
