The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Perhaps it was his need to connect with his mother in any way he could find. Maybe it was a need to do some good, to wash away the things he never felt right in his past. Helping that gifted girl get away from the men who were chasing her that day. Had lead him here to this odd little orphanage.
The woman Ikisina had thanked him for finding the girl, who had apparently been lost in transit. She was being smuggled out of the city and away into the country side. This had sparked intrigue in Tavariss, an with some probing over time. He would uncover a movement of sorts one he felt deep in his soul to assist. Had his mother had a group like this back then, would his life had been different. Would his parent still be alive?
Those were questions for another day, shaking his head as walked up to the orphanage. It was about mid-day, an the place was alive with the giggling and yells of children at play. It felt warm here, weather aside. It had a feeling on comfort, which was odd considering he didn’t have the best memories of the orphanage he was placed.
“Hey are you lost too?” a young boy asked tugging at his clothes.
“Why would I be lost?” he replied
“Jasiel helps lost people here.” The boy replied with a smile. Tavariss patted the boy on his head.
“Maybe the world is lost…” he said to himself.
“The world can’t be lost, your funny.” the boy replied before running off. Contemplating the thought a bit before looking over his shoulder to see the woman Ikisina.

Sina have promised to meet Tavariss at the orphanage, hearing that he would be interested in helping the Path out, she thought it would be best to possible be best to introduce him to Jasiel. Jas was the man who knew her, for her whole life pretty much, from the moment she was abounded as a baby on the steps. Most of these kids parents, are without a family, from either being abounded, beaten, or both parents are died. either way this is the only home they have at the moment thanks to Jasiel.
She walked over to the front of the orphanage after talking to @jas for a moment seeing Mr Anwir have arrived and was talking to a boy before he ran off. She laughed a bit as she walked over to him. "I hope he wasn't to much trouble Mr Anwir. I am happy that you made it i've informed Baron Pasqualin that you arriving he just in his office." Her smile was warm and inviting.Turning to face the orphanage and she started to walk alongside Tavariss if he followed towards Jas office.
Jasiel was curious as to who it was that Ikisina was bringing to meet him. He'd heard about the man who'd found the girl, who'd whispered in Jasiel's ear the whole tale from her perspective last time he'd visited, babbling away faster than the crow flies. She'd told him about how she was bored, had wanted to find flowers for her ma and had gotten lost. And then everything that had happened after, to how a strange man had helped her. The man that Ikisina was bringing with him.
He was absolutely the product of his mother and grandmother, taught how to be a good host regardless of circumstance. The ever present tea set was filled with freshly brewed tea and three tea cups waiting on the tray with a small cup of sugar cubes, cream, and honey. He wasn't quite sure how the man would take his tea so what options they had, he provided.
Tavariss returned her smile an adding a shake of his head. The child was simply curious. As many children are, a she was when he was young. Always wondering why. He saw himself in that boy, even now his curiosity had brought him here. Oh what discoveries he might make here.
“Of course not, he will grow up to be a bright boy. Bold and curious, great attributes if applied correctly to life.” He added, as he followed along with Ikisina. She was a lovely woman, he had to admit. She had a figure that was pleasing to the eye. Her smile could definitely melt a heart if a man found himself not on guard. How easily men fell for pretty eyes and a kind warm smile. ‘Perhaps my curiosity was of her more then this Jasiel.’ He mentally laughed at his own thought.
“I do appreciate the introduction.” He truly had been curious for the type of man he would be meeting today. He could gleam a few things from the little Ikisina had told him. By his actions alone, he was definitely kind and caring. Compassionate and empathetic also came to mind when examining the deeds of this man.

A small genuine laugh came from Sina's lips at Tavariss words. "Bold and curious, a great mix. It is truly a useful tool curiosity and knowing how which questions to ask." Sometimes Sina wish that she was braver then what she was but not everybody can be brave, she have other skills that is helpful.
As they was walking her eyes softly lands on Tavariss, looking over his features, he seems to be a man that know his words, which is rare. It was rare for her to get to speak to somebody on a more intellect level. She does have Elliot, however she would like somebody to talk to that her own age. Women her age a lot of them want to talk about Dresses, Men they are confusing.
"Of course, it at least I can do. After all that you've done, Mr Anwir." Were the words that express the truth as they reached Jasiel's office Even though she knew that Jasiel knew it would be her outside "Baron Pasqualin? It Sina and Mr Anwir." It felt strange to say Jas's title and last name. It was like she was a naughty child and she was being sent to the naughty step. She waited to be allowed in.
Jasiel walked around the desk to the door, Gift thrumming as he curled it about in his head like a cat of sorts. His own curiosity was feeding it certainly, and he pulled that back under his ribs, so to speak. He wanted a good read on this stranger, on the man that Ikisina was introducing to him, and letting his own emotions bleed into the room would influence that.
With a warm smile, he opened the door and pulled the young woman into a hug before stepping aside to let them in. "It is always good to see you, 'Sina dear. And a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Anwer." As the door closed behind them, he gestured to the chairs as an invitation to sit. "Please, sit. How do you take your tea?"
Tavariss scanned the building, taking note of things. It seemed average enough. Nothing that would raise suspicion, if it wasn’t for the young girl letting the secret out. He believes a visit to this place wouldn't lead anyone to a conclusion other than it was as it was presented. Tavariss gave a knowing nod in agreement to Ikisina. They were qualities that served him well in many instances, but they did come with their cons of course. He was still determining if they had led him to a positive opportunity here. “No please, I was just doing as a gentleman should.” he replied. He hadn't done too much he wasn't already used to doing, but he couldn’t let the cries of a child go unheeded. It just wasn’t in him.
Tavariss watched as the man Jasiel brought Sina in for a hug. ‘Close to be sure’ he thought as he gave a curt nod as he made his way through the door. “The pleasure is mine, to find a man with such a kind heart. Is becoming a rarity, sadly.” he replied, taking a seat at the table. “Just a dash of cream and a few drops of honey.” he replied as he made sure to keep an eye on Jasiel as he moved around the room. Glancing over at Sina from time to time.

As they walked Sina give Tavariss a gentle smile, some people wouldn't go out their way to help a orphanged child, however it was a nice thing on behalf on this man that he took time out of his day, to help the child in her time of need. "At least let me treat you to a drink one day as a thanks." It was a simple offer on her behalf.
When they got to the offer and she felt the warm arms of the man who helped raised her "Jas." A warm smile on her cheek as she wrapped her arm around him. He doesn't need to use a gift on her, his arms always make her feel warm and happy. She whisper in his ear as their hug "Relax please Jas." She let go and give him a reassuring smile. Giving a side wards glance. She know jas for to long.
She sat down and waited for Mr Anwir to explained how he like his tea."Please Jas." Jas knew how she likes her tea, cream one and a little honey. "Mr Anwir here want to talk about something which might be beneficial for us." Not meaning the orphanage. She watch carefully how Jas respond. She looks sideways noting how he kept glancing at her a soft smile on her face.
"I do my best, Mr. Anwir. Everyone, especially children, deserves safety and a loving environment." Jasiel gave the man a cordial smile as he moved to the other side of his desk to prepare the tea as they requested. Anwir's was first and he set it before the man before preparing Ikisina's next and lastly his own (a bit of cream and 2 sugars).
Ikisina's statement could mean the orphanage but he knew that that was not what she was talking about. Only sitting once the tea was served, the baronet looked at Ikisina first and then the man across from him. Jasiel's Gift reached out, just enough to determine that the man was being honest as he spoke and nothing more, not influencing him to be honest but just to get a read on him.
Tavariss felt the man was sincere enough/ He had in fact been doing a great deal more than just giving orphans a place to stay. If everything he had learned and been told was to be believed. There was opportunity here, and Tavariss aimed to take it. With a nod of his head he eyed the tea, letting it sit a bit so cool. At least that's what he would lead on, he wanted to let everyone take a drink before he took his. The situation didn't seem sinister in any way, but one could never be too careful. Matching Jasiels gaze Tavariss took a more relaxed position in his seat. Letting his shoulders rest, elbows on the arms of the chair hands clasped together in his lap.
“I have ambitions, Sir. I believe our goals can intertwine in a way that is beneficial not only for me, but for those you wish to help.” Eyes still on Jasiel he tilted his head slightly. “There seems to be a need for more secure ways of helping those who need to…dance among the shadows.” he smiled at the end. Looking over to Ikisina he gave her small smile, “Ikisina was able to give be a small glimpse into what you are doing here.” his gaze still keeping to the details of the cups to see who would drink first and if any of them were eyeing his drink. He continued, “In order to keep up the guise of helping children and those less fortunate. I will offer to have those here that are of working age, apprenticeships in the guilds and workshops I currently have and plan on expanding on. Not only in the capital, but in the outer regions and borders of the Kingdom. Along with the expanded warehouses I currently have, this would be able to offer new places of safety during their transition to a new life elsewhere. An extended network for you, peace of mind for me.” he ended watching for Jasiels reactions to what he had told him.
This was... good. It sounded much too good for him to belive the truth of it, for all that he did trust Ikisina Navarro's judgement. She was a good judge of character but Jasiel had more than just himself in the line of attack if this went wrong. There was Gianna and Felix, Shena, the children under his care, and the Path as well (few though they were at this time). He didn't miss the quick look at the cups, though he didn't draw attention to it. A cautious man, not unlike Jasiel himself perhaps. He brought his own cup to drink as the man spoke, Gift ringing with relative honesty in Tavariss Anwir's words.
"I appreciate your candor, Mr. Anwir, so I hope you don't mind if I have a few questions?" Jasiel set his cup down and would pause for a moment. "Which guilds would the apprenticeships be coming from and what type of work would these particular workshops be offering? The safety and well-being children and young adults in my care are among my highest priorities."
Tavar had watched Jasiel take his drink of tea. Making sure to take notice if the muscles in the neck moved, proving he had actually swallowed the tea not just acted to do so. Giving a nod of understanding, he could appreciate the need for details. Few things in life were simple. Details were everything, especially when it came to businesses of this sort.
"Blacksmiths, armors, carpenters, possibly shipwrights in the future. Textile mills, dress makers and tailors, im working on getting some vineyards and orchards in place as well. The guilds are small at this time, but as things expand. There will be consolidation, in due time." Tavariss had been working on an array of deals, always searching for the next one. His latest was in the works, and should his next meeting go well. He would begin to consolidate his power of trade in the city.
"It would be reasonable to allow yourself or staff to Vet those who take on your children. Bi-monthly inspections to check on the well being of those placed in apprentice positions. I am not here to find slave labor, just providing opportunities while gaining opportunity." Tavaris looked Jasiel in the eyes waiting for his reaction.
It was a good plan, one that Jasiel could not find any dishonesty or distrust in regards to what he was saying. It wasn't simply solid belief but an underlying understanding in his words. Something that Jasiel took to mean that the man intimately knew what he was saying and was confident in the honesty in his words as opposed to a confidence in selling something he had no faith in.
He lifted his cup to his lips to drink again and swallowed before he spoke. "Should I take you up on the offer and some of my wards decide they would be interested sooner rather than later, what options would be available to them here in Loren? And if any chose an apprenticeship only to be adopted before or during it, would they be able to continue with it?"
