The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Kester also felt the shift in their interaction from the easier dialogue of one stranger helping another to this more stilted exchange that they both stumbled through for the sake of politeness. Sylas seemed to be one of those people to whom silence came more naturally than conversation, and though Kester had plenty to say, very little of it was for a member of Arynn Frey’s ruling family.
His question had her lifting a hand, palm down, and tilting it back and forth – she knew more of Kezia than she ever did from personal interactions with the woman herself – before the implication of what he’d asked hit her. Brow furrowed in confusion, she blinked up at Sylas. “And Geb?” Kester repeated, recalling that Raiden was Kezia’s dyr. “Who’s Geb?”

When the woman expressed nonverbally that she didn't know Kezia all that well he gave a small nod, feeling even more like they didn't have much else to talk about. His hands tightened as he held them behind him as he fought against the discomfort. Though at the woman's question about Geb he wondered if he should have mentioned it at all. Was it open knowledge to share or was Kezia keeping it close to the chest for now? He didn't know how open she was about what had happened and thus felt it wasn't his place to share such news himself, especially to a woman he had only just met.
He shook his head slightly and gave the woman an apologetic smile and a little shrug to indicate he couldn't answer her question. "Please do let me know if there is anything else I can do for you or the dresmondi here. It was a pleasure to meet you both," he said to her and averted his gaze to her dyr briefly before he politely dipped his head. "I hope you have a nice rest of your day," he stated and unless she stopped him he would move to depart.
Sylas’s sudden reticence regarding the mysterious Geb had Kester’s eyes narrowing slightly at him in somewhat suspicious confusion, but she could recognize immediately that no amount of pushing on her end would convince him to speak more on the matter. Kaveri had been in Elyusian longer; perhaps he would have heard something about this.
Despite her lingering curiosity, Kester would not stop the prince from leaving. Undoubtedly, he was a busy man, and the stilted nature of their conversation had not escaped her. “Thank you. It was nice to meet you, too,” She said with a smile. “And we hope you have a good day as well.”
