The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
He would be leaving for Lorendale tomorrow. It felt weird to know that his dream of leaving Arynn Frey and exploring the rest of Terra Nova was becoming reality. Ever since he had been a kid, he had wanted to see the world. Books were great, but the real deal was better. So he had sent a letter to @bowen to inform him that he would be leaving, telling him he loved him, his dear cousin, and that he would be sending a letter from Lorendale as soon as possible. He had also talked a bit with the prince about Gifted and Dresmondi, and for that reason Clovis was in the city today, to visit the biggest bookshop they had. He wanted to find some information about Gifted to take with him, although he doubted they would have a lot to offer.
Nevertheless, the soldier walked into the shop and headed up to the floor where he thought he'd be able to find the books he was looking for. He had tried to familiarise himself with the big families in Lorendale already, and hoped he could find a book on their history. Of course he knew the Eldouir, but he didn't know as much about the Allemeades, and as far as non-Gifted families went, he didn't know much about the Kanes, it Zanes, or whatever they called themselves now. The latter seemed to be an important military family, and he was eager to learn from them.
Once he found himself wandering around the floor, he headed over to the shelves containing books about all kinds of magic. He grabbed a book from the shelf and sat down, wanting to take a look through the hook before deciding whether it was worth buying or not.
