The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Sigyn hadn't approached her during the dinner with the new Nevermere soldiers, but now, the day after, she was about to. The woman had changed a bit, but not that much that the young Cambrian hadn't recognised her anymore. Odina, the somewhat unfamiliar woman that had lived with them in the village until she disappeared.
The blonde looked around in the village, and it wasn't too difficult to find the brunette. The Seer approached her with a cautious smile. "Odina, right?" she asked, stopping in front of her. She wasn't sure if the woman would remember her. She had been about 16 or 17 back then, but she had gotten some facial tattoos since then. Still, she was Isolde's biological daughter. Most people knew/remembered her because of that.
"I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you!" She smiled. She had no reason not to trust this woman, but she was cautious because she did not know where Odina had went, for what reason or why she was suddenly back.

P'ol was playing with some of girls around her age, they had all grown so much it really opened Odina's eyes at how P'ol had also grown: she was taller than most of the girls her age and leaner it looked like another daughter would take after their Father from Coheed. Lyra had enhanced speed and hearing, Vekka strength and vision, and P'ol was naturally just good at whatever she picked up with hearing to boot. They were more than that due to her blood they were also deadly witches, a little late to the table on practice but the oldest were receiving that training in Nevermere.
Still...the Mother's of the daughters to which P'ol played with kept their distance of Odina being just cordial enough so they could watch their children. It didn't really bother Odina before or now because she still felt closer in nuture to Cambrian women. They were her sisters. Odina had jumped back in like she had never left as far as pitching in without being asked and she worked hard, at the current moment in time she always dying fabrics, that's where Sigyn would find her and Odina would look up from her work to the woman.
She tilted her head after nodding with a confirmation of who she was, and she wasn't sure at first who the woman was but she stripped the tattoos...the hair...
"You are Halfrida's sister? Isolde's second child?" the name was coming back as she worked it out in her head, "you've grown...Sigyn, All-Mothers blessing sister."
Odina stood and brushed her wet purple hands on a old stained tunic, stitched and sewn with a few different pieces of other fabrics. She wore leather trousers and fur boots, the princess was just a few inches taller than the Sigyn. She smiled, "I thought it was time to come home..."
Odina didn't seem to remember Sigyn right away, but as the seconds passed, she could see a change in the way the woman looked at her, as if she could actually see Odina's memories of Sigyn come back to her. The blonde nodded with a smile when the woman mentioned Halfrida. Halfrida was indeed her older sister. "All-Mother's blessing to you too, sister", she responded. "We're happy to have you back. You left so suddenly, we definitely wondered where you went. Some of us were afraid you got attacked by something in the mountains, but I never saw that explanation as a reasonable one." Surely Odina would have been able to defend herself against an animal. The Seer looked at the girls playing nearby. "One of yours?" she asked. When Odina left, P'ol had been around 2 years old, so Sigyn wouldn't recognize the girl.
"Would you like some help, sister?" she then asked, looking at the fabrics the brunette was dyeing.

"please, yes," Odina welcomed Sigyn scooting over for her to join her, "That's P'ol my youngest, she was basically just a babe when I left but she's a spit fire a little miss independant," Odina dipped her hand into a blue dye with a garment, "and worry not sister, my mind was just curious and as Misha always said and called me," Misha had been the main elderly woman who took care of Odina growing up before she had passed. Odina looked up from her work and looked around at all the passing faces near and far, Cambrian and Nevermeren, "'your swift curious nature and feet are going to carry you away to far one day Odina Swiftfoot', I can hear it now, and she was right," Odina looked at Sigyn with a small smile, "I was curious about them, the foreigners, and that's why I went...I wanted to know,"where I come from, "about them."
A playful smirk formed on her face, "do you think I'd let some beast of the forests take me down? Kelder taught me to hunt bear, I fear little of the forest, plus do you think anything stands a chance against Vekka?"
Odina seemed happy to receive some help, so Sigyn sat and started to help. She listened to Odina tell her about P'ol. The blonde didn't have a lot of memories of Misha, for she was younger than Odina, but she knew stories about the woman. She laughed with the brunette. "Your feet certainly did take you far from here", she agreed. "Did you learn a lot about them?" she asked. "I can't imagine leaving Cambria and suddenly being suppressed for being a woman." There was some vulnerability and a lot of honesty in that statement. Sigyn couldn't grasp how women in other kingdoms could live like that, not being seen as an equal.
The mention of Kelder and Vekka made her smile drop. Vekka had left Cambria, and Kelder was now dead. "We sisters definitely teach eachother how to survive, yes." She sighed. "Sadly not all of them make it. Kelder recently disappeared and no one has seen her since. I'm afraid something actually was able to get her. The mountain lions have been very active this year."

Odina smiled, Cambria truly knew very little about Nevermere, "Well yes, I did learn from them and about them and I saw both sides have misconceptions about the other," Odina held the fabric out of the dye observing it, her arms were pock marked from years of little burns from her smithing even fresh ones indicating she had still been smithing from her sabbatical, "their women are more respected and held to a higher degree than we've believed, they have power that is feared and respected...women lead families...covens of women uplifting other women of power and magic, they worship female goddesses," Odina shrugged, "They taught me and I taught them, I wasn't forced to marry or told to change, no man tried to force me with child and I met someone, she's more like us than I can list," Odina hoped to see her soon, after things here surely came to order.
Her face twisted sour at the details of Kelder that was shocking, "Kelder taught me how to hunt mountain lions and cougars, that doesn't sound like her at all," truly Odina was worried maybe even hurt, Kelder (and a few other women around Cambria) had shared many of nights and beds and hunts and training together she was a fiercely proud warrior a Valkyrie, to fall victim to a mountain cat was uncharacteristic perhaps worth investigating.
