The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
It might have been six years since she had last since the brunette, but Revna never forgot a face. Especially when they supplied such good weapons and then went and left for Nevermere of all places. What a bad choice that was, but she didn’t same too changed, not that you could always tell on the surface. But she wasn’t wearing some fancy ball gown or anything crazy like that, so there were good signs.
What Revna really wanted to know was why she had come back. Why now? And who better to ask than the woman herself. Sisters didn’t keep secrets from each other, and so she had made her way towards the village, on the look out. Not taking too long luckily as Revna had plenty on her plate. The sun was setting but as was usual in Cambria that didn’t mean you had to sleep.

Odina had laid P'ol down and sought a very familiar place of Cambria she had throughly missed. A old forge. Odina surprisingly had a reason to be at the forge two women had approached Odina for work, they were younger warriors and had told Odina that they she had made their Mother's armor that they wanted the same.
She was heating the forge when someone spoke and it brought Odina out of her task, blue eyes taking a moment to adjust away from the heat pulsating from the furnace, she instantly recognized the woman. She was a little older than the last time she had saw Revna and still just as beautiful, "Revna!"
She stood and approached the young warrior woman, "No one's aged a bit I swear," Odina couldn't hide it when she was attracted to someone and whatever it was about Cambrian women made it much more intense, "The All-Mother has blessed you all, I saw you earlier at dinner...I couldn't believe it, I almost came to you but you seemed very busy.."
Smiling she ran up, wrapping the woman in a hug. "Pretia!" It had been ages since she'd seen Odina, a move she still didn't understand. But she was back now and that was what mattered. They had their best blacksmith back and she would craft them armor to remove the shackles of Nevermere.
"I am the Priestess' Second, Wren decided to leave for Coheed some time ago." Shrugging her shoulders, Revna hadn't been given details as she hadn't asked. She just did what she was told by Isolde, and never questioned the woman in the slightest. One had said it was blind and faulty loyalty, but she was dead now so who had won that argument?

"Wren always the proud wanderer, but proud of you I am Revna," Odina made a mental note of the woman's position, second to the problem hurting Cambria, "Second is a strong position to hold within our humble village, and still a Valykrie?"
"The priestess and All-mother decided that I am the one for the position. Of course Wren leaving is a shame but I was ready to step up." Smiling at Odina, she had greatly missed the woman, and the strength she would bring with her return. Of course, that was... As long as she hadn't been changed. But there was no way Odina had let the simple minds of Nevermere change her ways.
Looking the woman over she nodded her head, trying to notice any changes. "Always a Valkyrie, for Cambria and keeping it the way it should be. How awful was it living amongst them?"

Odina could only smile, "I learned a great deal about smithing, I lived with this charming little family: the Van Zants. There are hundreds of them, not really hundreds, but a great deal of them headed by twins a great deal younger than me: Kasper and Katerina, they took care of their family after a mining accident killed their parents," her heart always picked up when she thought about Kat, she loved her and she didn't quiet know it, "I met other powerful women, we've had misconceptions I've come to learn as did they about us. Vekka and Lyra are both training with their soldiers, Vekka is top of the class with her peers she's the strongest soldier they've had be so young," Odina was proud of all three of her daughters and it showed as she spoke about them.
Revna titled her head, seeing that her old friend had possibly drank too much from the Nevermere well. Misjudging those of Nevermere were impossible when they made their ideals quite clear. No one in Cambria had thought the women weak, they had witnessed their magic. What their weakness was came to the fact that they let themselves come second to men in every way it mattered.
"Misconception? So the women aren't to be seen in not heard when it comes to leadership in their court of opinion? There aren't strict rules that bind people into ridiculous places?" She knew none of that was the case, but to act like Nevermere was any better once you got close to it was a farce.

"I have come to learn that every kingdom has its shortcomings Revna around Terra Nova," she hummed, "and I have attended these court sessions, they are extremely boring and it's mostly men huffing about monetary gain...don't women have better things to do? We like the witches have power no man has, our blood sets us a part and blood is stronger...we could all be destined for more," Odina grabbed a bar of steel and set it into the heart of a bright fire that burned beside them, she was feeling creative, "They have what they call covens, like a school or place of religion for them to study their magic...much dedication is put into the value of a Witch from Nevermere..."
"And yet nothing has changed. Despite this apparent strength of women. You and Lady Carter sound so similar in your words." She was still hoping to see Norah and talk with her, try and get a gauge for how long the extra troops were going to be around. But she was sure she would be stuck in this conversation again with the other Nevermerean woman. It was just such a shame that Odina had become one of them.
All the same. "Are you returning to be our smithy then? Despite the love for your new home?"
