Io could have never imagined how quickly his life changed the day prior. His morning started with his livelihood completely demolished and ended wrapped around a gorgeous woman for the first time. The glorious Victoria had opened the tailor up to an entirely new realm of life. Though he had not known her for the scope of a whole day, he felt like he had somehow known her for his entire life. Io was hopelessly infatuated, the helpless moth to Victoria's beautiful inferno. Frankly, he couldn't be happier.
Waking up in the Bronze Lion entangled with her was as thrilling as it had been to fall into bed. Not to mention her words, that *he* was her love, perfect...what else could a man want?
When they finally managed to leave the room that would forever live in Io's mind, the day had already long since started. Io brought Victoria back to his family home to wash up before going to the palace. His sister and mother were already at the smithy working, just as well as he had no desire to justify himself at the moment. Io did not need any berating, any shaming for his actions: they just would not understand the instant connection he had with the beautiful Victoria.
Io took the extra time to ensure not a hair of his was out of place, applying a healthy amount of the cinnamon cologne he'd purchased for his meeting with Lady @severine Snow. The thought of her slowed him a bit. Io had to remind himself that she was already courting a nobleman, and may as well be engaged or married: fully unreachable, save as a respected friend. A glance back towards Victoria and the flooding memories of the night prior was enough to fully distract his mind from that line of thought.
The tailor knew precisely what he was going to wear, one of his best suits with an emerald embroidered vest and tie, by which to match his lover's eyes. He would display his chosen attire to Victoria with a hobbled spin, finishing with a gentle kiss and an offered arm.
It was a bit of a jaunt from the lower income housing to the palace itself, but a cool morning breeze and the company kept Io more than satisfied. He would point out his shop along the way, as well as a variety of different bakeries and jewelers they might visit after their tour of the gardens, should she be so inclined. Io would do his absolute best to make today the most wonderful of the woman's life.
Entry to the palace was straightforward, Io happy to see familiar guards and staff who offered approving nods and smiled compliments to the lady on his arm. A respectful reputation had a great many perks, and it warmed the tailor to see it pay off. Upon speaking to another set of guards, he was again most grateful for Prince Augustus Rainecourt 's gift, the staff already aware of the authorization for the tour.
Stepping out into the palace gardens was like entering another world entirely. Io had seen glimpses through various windows during his many years working in the palace, but he could not have prepared for the enormity and beauty of the place up close. Each bush and tree were so meticulously trimmed, the gentle splash of fountains and song of visiting finches combining for a wonderous melody. It was like a dreamland, a private perfect world that was made just for him and Victoria.
Io glanced to Victoria, a wide grin growing on his face . "What do you think?"
