The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Warren waited for a few days to pass after the announcement. While it hadn't gone entirely smoothly, it'd gone better than expected. Really only one person had spoken out against Odina and caused a scene. The new chieftess had given the younger woman an ultimatum, but Warren wasn't so sure that was sufficient. Not knowing that a rebellion could be stirring was one thing, but knowing who would be causing it, who would cause one given the chance, and letting her go free anyway, was asking for trouble. It was a delicate situation, one that Warren knew Odina had to ultimately decide upon herself if she was going to regain the respect of the women of Cambria. But he felt like she respected his opinions, and he wouldn't feel like he'd done his job to the best of his ability if he didn't inform her of his concerns.
He'd been vigilant for the first few days afterward. His soldiers were ordered to keep their ears to the streets and listen for any potential uprising, and to keep an eye on @revna. He also wanted an eye kept on Sigyn, a young woman who he hadn't personally encountered but had learned was Isolde's daughter. If anyone was going to cause trouble based on their anger, it would be the two of them. And if anyone was likely complicit in Isolde's crimes, it would be those same two women.
Nothing of importance popped up in those following days, though, so on the fourth morning, Warren made his way to Odina's home in the village. He'd knock and announce himself, and once he was let in, he'd give the Princess a respectful bow. "Chieftess Odina," he said, a polite smile just barely touching his lips. "Could I have a few moments of your time?"

Odina was eating with P'ol and the Elders (she had always got along with the older women of Cambria; they didn't really see her as an outsider even now) they were discussing the planting seasons from Vers into Autumna when they'd harvest for Hiems. The Cheiftess wanted to stay on top of food as Cambrian winters were harsh. When there was knock Odina excused herself and as the door opened it was Captain Warren to which she gave a graceful bow, "Of course, please come on in," she turned back to her guests, "could everyone give us the room please? Find @rina she'll handle the rest of the crop tasks," the Elders acknowledged her request and gathering P'ol they all filed out of Odina's new residence.
Norah had saw to it that Odinas dwelling contained the same potion that allowed privacy from the enhanced hearing of the Cambrians.
She offered the Captain a seat on the bench at the table with breakfast, "help yourself Captain to anything, what can I do for you today?"
Warren stepped to the side and bowed his head to each of the women as they passed, exiting at Odina's request. "I apologize for interrupting, Chieftess. I could have come back at a later time."
They were already leaving, though, so there was nothing to be done about it. Once they were gone, he took the seat he was offered and lifted his hands, politely denying the food. "I've already eaten, thank you though," he answered. He didn't like to eat much in the morning, a couple of pieces of sausage or bacon would tide him over until lunch time and he'd eaten some before coming over.
Resting his hands in his lap, Warren glanced across the table at her, his face quickly changing from polite to one of a more serious demeanor. "As Chieftess, please feel free to tell me that I'm out of line," he began. "But if I may ask, do you intend to allow Isolde's former second to live among the other Cambrians? I know you gave her an ultimatum, and I have no doubt you're a woman of your word. I just wondered if you had any further plans regarding how to handle her?"

"I don't think you are out of line Captain, in fact I have been thinking about her quiet frequently," she carried the worry in her tone as she began to lightly clean the table around them, "My ultimatum still stands for her or any who wish to leave, I don't think they will leave pride be damned if they will let me govern peacefully...I believe more watchful eyes would be my next move, I believe my second will do just fine for the task? Soldiers from Nevermere would poke the bear so they say...do you have any ideas?"
Lips pursed, Warren glanced around the room. He didn't focus on any one thing. He wasn't being nosy, or noting her surroundings. He was looking for something, but it was nothing physical. It was words. The same thoughts that had rumbled through his mind for the past few days that needed to be spoken, but he knew it had to be in a particular way. He had no intention of overstepping his bounds, of playing any games of power, especially not with Odina.
"Your position here is absolute, but that does not make you invincible," he began carefully, thumbs fidgeting, jaw tightening. "For the moment, it seems to me that most of the Cambrians are willing to have an open mind and to give you a chance, thanks to elders such as Grissa. But Revna is dangerous. She can create dissent and suspicion. If she was trained by Isolde, she's likely skilled in deception. Even if her whispers don't start outright rebellion, they may help to encourage it as soon as you make a single mistake. No matter what the issue, she will use it as a further example of why you're not fit to lead. Yes, we can watch her, keep an eye on her, but we cannot prevent her from merely speaking to people."
He took a deep breath. He was not a needlessly cruel man, but there were times with difficult decisions had to be made. He could likely handle it, he could keep her hands clean, but the trick would be making it discreet enough that the other Cambrians wouldnt suspect Odina. "Leaving her be seems like a bad idea, my lady," he spoke quietly, a sigh forced out alongside the words.

Odina paused and chewed the words from the Captain, he made sense even Odina had her reservations on @revna even Sigyn. She crossed her hands in her lap thinking, "I believe you, I sense their doubts and mistrust of me, which is why I cannot act brash or come off as abrasive, the ultimatum of banishment stills stands but how do I resolve this without some sort of rebellion or mutiny? If we watch her to close or to hard it will be trouble, if we decide to detain her as we did Isolde surely that will result the same," she was truly trying to see a peaceful resolution that's discreet, "Perhaps we find ways to keep her busy?"
