[ONESHOT]
Nithya had made her way from Shadows Landing to the beach next to it. If you knew how, it wasn't difficult to reach the sand beneath and next to the docks at all. She had walked for about five minutes from her initial starting point to make sure she had at least a little peace and quiet, although it had already been a quiet evening. There weren't a lot of people on the dock, and those who were, were either on their way home or to a tavern. She could have looked for a more secluded beach, but she liked the one next to Shadows Landing. It was also the one were the wreaths were released during the Spring Festival. Nithya just felt more connected to the Goddess here than on any other beach.
The moon was just right for the ritual and prayer she had in mind. For one night, she allowed herself to not think of work and her duties. For one night, it was just her and the Goddess. The woman sat down in the sand and closed her eyes. She could see the pages of her grimoire in her head. She had done this ritual plenty of times, and didn't need to bring her grimoire to the beach anymore. It was safer to leave it at home, anyway.
To honour the Goddess, first find a body of water.
The witch had brought a bag with her, that she had carried over her shoulder. She opened it and took out dried flowers. The next page appeared in her head.
Then, dig a hole in the sand.
Nithya proceeded with the next step, and after she was done with it, she put the dried flowers in the hole and placed a candle in the middle of the pit. She lit the candle, very carefully, and because the pit was deep enough, the wind wasn't able to reach the candle and extinguish the flame. The dark-skinned woman closed her eyes again and crossed her legs. She meditated for about ten minutes.
It seemed like it had only been a few seconds, but the wind picked up and told Nithya her ritual was done. To her, it was the way the Goddess communicated with her. She got up and walked over the where the sea touched the sand and cupped her hands. She crouched down and let the water spill into her hands. She then returned to the hole and emptied her hands into it. She repeated this a couple of times until the candle went out and the petals were covered in water and mud. To finish the ritual completely, she picked up the remainder of the candle and put it back in the bag - she would have to melt it and make it into a new one - and filled the hole back up with sand. She placed her hands on the sand and sighed with relief. Her offer had been accepted, she could feel it in her heart.
After sitting with the loving warmth of the Goddess for a little longer, Nithya picked up her bag and returned home.
