[ONESHOT | arrival before the Izen x Magda x Rian thread]
He had received new orders from the Captain Commander, and would be sent to Coheed to continue what Faylin had started - or what she had been supposed to do. The witch had resigned, and someone needed to fill her spot until a better arrangement could be made. Aldrich had gathered the stuff he would need for his trip and stay and had readied a few horses. Most of them would just be carrying equipment, and some others were meant to switch between horses during the ride, so the one he had just ridden could rest without carrying any weight.
The man had left Skia behind, to travel through the mountain pass to Coheed. He didn't have very pleasant memories of the place. The last time he had been in Coheed, Nadine had slept with his brother. But maybe he was supposed to be in Coheed now, and it could be some kind of catharsis for him. Nadine was gone now, and he wouldn't be reminded of her everywhere he went anymore. He wouldn't have to avoid going to the home he had briefly shared with her.
There would be familiar faces waiting for him. He was supposed to work with Zarha Sliva on her new discovery, and he would be working with Kasper Van Zant . And maybe, just maybe, it was good that he would be away from Regan Lassiter for a while. When he had woken up the day after he had spent time in her room, he had regretted what he had done. They hadn't done anything, except for him running his hands through her hair a bit, but it still had felt wrong the next day when the alcohol had worn off and the hole that Nadine had left in his heart had felt new and fresh again.
The ride was long. It took him 6 days to reach Gilead. He was relieved that nothing had happened on the way over to Coheed. No ambushes, no crazy weather. It was quite nice to feel the sun on his skin again, the closer he got to Coheed. And if he was honest, he was looking forward to doing something new for a little while. Training women and children, helping the women integrate and become true warriors themselves, and also keeping an eye on Magda Ivanova . He had heard a lot about her, and not all of it was good.
The last day of the travel was coming to an end, and he could see Gilead in the distance already. Once he arrived, he was welcomed by some of the warriors and was brought to a tent that had been out up for him, where he could rest and freshen up. The horses were unloaded and the stuff he had brought with him was put in the tent. First, he would rest. Then he would investigate what the rumours about Izen Cyrilson were, which he had heard the second he had entered the city, and after that he would look for Kasper.
