HISTORY
Family:
Father - Winston Moore ✝
Mother - Lucretia Moore (maiden name Aquila) ✝
Brothers - Bernard Moore & Clarence Moore
Tale:
Elliot's tale is not a complicated one. He was born in fall, the second son to be welcomed by Winston and Lucretia. Five years prior to his birth, his older brother Bernard was born. His father was a baronet, a title that had been in the family for many generations. As the title was hereditary, he also received the status of baronet once he was of age. Three years after his birth, his parents receives another son they named Clarence.
The boys had a normal upbringing and enjoyed some luxuries provided by his father who was a successful merchant. Sir Winston Moore specialised in wine and jewels, but also sold whatever he could get his hands on. Money wasn't too tight and he had quite a good bond with both of his parents. His mother obviously stayed at home and took care of her three boys. Since his father was good at what he did, they could afford to school their boys and dress them in nice clothes. Winston also taught his sons the basics of combat and handling a sword. Elliot has fond memories of battling his older brother with wooden swords in the backyard of their house.
As he grew older, his father involved him in his business. He taught Elliot about the logistics of it and trained him to be charismatic. Elliot was a born talent at the latter. He knew exactly what to say when to get people to do what he wanted, buy what he offered or believe what he said. He was so good at it, it was fair to say that he was more of a manipulator even. Bernard also was involved in the business, but showed more interest in combat. The same was the case for Clarence, who would start training to be a soldier when he got older.
By the time he was 18, Elliot knew a lot of lower and middle class aristocracy. The Moores got invited to feasts and dances and were fairly well-known in Loren. He was fully integrated in the business now and was basically an equal to his father - something his father wasn't too happy with, but Elliot had talked his way into this function and now Winston couldn't do much about it anymore. For quite some time the two of them worked together. Elliot liked selling books since it got him in contact with interesting individuals. Not everyone could read, so being able to talk to people who could made for some fascinating conversations.
The years passed and Elliot had turned 26. He was growing tired of his old man and started planning a little scheme to get him out of his own business. His mother, who had gotten quite sick over the years, was having trouble walking. He played this to his advantage and convinced his father it would be best if he'd stay home with her to make sure nothing happened to her during their long days on the road and in the city. Once his father agreed to this, Elliot made sure to draw all the power of the business to him so his father couldn't return, even if he wanted to. Luckily this wasn't an issue, as his father didn't mind staying home with Lucretia because Elliot had promised he'd turn over a certain percentage of the profits so his folks could continue living their luxurious lives.
Elliot was too busy being a merchant to focus on settling down and finding a wife. He also didn't feel the need to settle down with just one woman seeing as how he enjoyed the company of the opposite sex so much. He had little flings and wasn't shy of visiting a brothel every now and then. He liked 'the fine arts', his definition of this being women, wine and books. While his brothers settled down and pursued their careers as knights, he continued to sporadically enjoy the company of all kinds of women. He took some kind of weird pride in being intimate with married women, as it gave him some sort of ego boost.
After reaching the age of 37, some changes happened in Elliot's life. Both his parents died merely months apart which caused him to inherent their beautiful home in Loren. He sold the house he had been living in, just outside of Loren, and moved to his childhood home. Now he was completely independent as a merchant, his business strategy became less honest. This was the result of going through a rough patch, money-wise. People seemed to have less interest in books and wine, which caused Elliot to have to change it up. He started buying and selling jewelry, but the profits weren't to write home about. He decided he'd start buying lesser quality products and sell them as if they were the real deal. After a while, some people started to realise he was basically a fraud, but a lot of people weren't nearly smart enough to determine whether something was worth the price or not. This made his income go up again, a phenomenon that hasn't stopped to this day. Another thing he did, was going back to his roots and setting up a booth at the marketplaceevery now and then to meet new clients. He disliked doing so, and would barely put any effort in making his booth approachable. Elliot preferred meeting with already existing clients in taverns, but he realised he'd have to go back to being a marketplace merchant to expand his clientele. The amount of money he makes causes Elliot to be a bit delusional. He lives above his status and likes spending money on nice things and nice clothes.
