Tale:
Phaedra is the youngest of 6 children and the only daughter of her parents. Her father was an accomplished Lord Marshal, before his retirement, with a few thousand loyal soldiers who have stuck with him for generations, sons and grandsons now serving in the Hockenhull Army. Her own five older brothers all followed in their father's footsteps, becoming knights and joining the army as well. While Phaedra was trained to do the same, her parents had a different task that they set her on. Rather than fighting for Lorendale with a sword they wanted her to fight for Lorendale with her mouth, influence, and status. It is for this reason that they carefully arranged the very best match they could manage: Duke Augusuts Rainecourt-Marx.

Her marriage was always to be one of advantage, so that was no surprise. What astonished Phaedra was the passionate romance she found herself in during that first year. Augustus was charming and thoughtful, diligent and heroic; he swept her off her feet and initiated her belief in true love. She was found to be with child within the first few months and the baby became a symbol of all of her marital contentedness. The first change took place when Augustus II was born with the same disorder his father had, but worse. It shattered some of the rose-colored dream her life had been. The second change came only months after his birth: the discovery of Coraline, Augustus' mistress and mother of his actual firstborn. These fires destroyed much within Phaedra, leading to a war between her and Augustus that has never found peace. They both well know how to maneuver through life and court despite the raging politics at home, leaving only their boys and their servants with the faintest idea of the depth of their marital strife.

Arynn Frey was supposed to be a change that could lead to a chance. Unfortunately it wasn't, not for their marraige. Instead, as Phaedra grew to love this foreign kingdom and its people, she grew in love for her own kingdom (rather than her husband). She celebrated the differences, always esteeming Lorendale with greater honor, and longing for the day when they could return. Eventually, that day came.

Upon returning, Phaedra got started on working for the future of Lorendale. It is the aspiration most near and dear to her heart. All that she does is for that end, and making sure her sons reap the benefits of her hard work. With Augustus' permission, she established The Rainecourt-Marx Academy for Exceptional Children, a private school to train up the next generation to be thinkers and creators, the innovators of tomorrow. She spends much of her time pouring into the school, but she also does her due diligence as the queen's aunt to spend time with Iliana and try to encourage her to be the best, most effective queen she can.
