The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Akagi was troubled, over many things ranging from Ophelia and their last interaction to his incursion within Coheed and country. He had his children and enchantment projects but truthfully Akagi needed a focus within his future kingdom. Somethings he knew he could work on easily, his marriage needed more time he hoped that his Felita would resolve what was bothering her.
Coheed? That was a ongoing situation that Akagi would continually adapt to.
Conversation between him and his Mother, The Queen, had been few and far between so today they would share tea and talk. The children were with him today, they sat in floor playing with the oddest toys such as an abacus that the girls were using to entertain their baby brother Kato. Akagi had sent a message to his Mother to join them when she was free, and the slaves were currently brewing fresh tea as the Prince waited.

Kimora was in a rage. It didn't show but by the gods did she have a way of make it felt. The slaves and Peacekeepers alike did their best to keep out of her way. A stormy expression and determined march signaled her approach. Over the course of the past few days, she had been doing research, tracking and getting a list of names. It hadn't taken all that long and whilst there was most certainly going to be hell to pay for the mess, there was one in particular that she most certainly couldn't overlook.
She entered the room. Her gaze fell upon her grandchildren. Usually, the sight of them was enough to warm her heart, just a little. At the very least, it would earn a smile. Today though, she was in no humor for such things. "I wish to speak with my son, in private."
It was a clear instruction for the slaves to magic the children away somewhere. She didn't particularly care where. All of Kimora's attention was focused on her son, unblinking as she silently let him know that right now, he was very much in the dog house.

Akagi kissed his children, the girls were clearly confused that Grandma was whisking them away without much recognition. It didn't sit well with Akagi, she was angry and he knew why. She had to know about Ellora by now, but she couldn't know about his involvement unless Keion had thrown him under the wagon.
With a gentle kiss on each of his children's heads before the slaves took them away. Akagi stood straight and stoic, soft eyes locked on his Mother's and hands clasped behind his back. For now he wouldn't display any truth to any accusations, he would deny any involvement with...whatever this was.

Kimora contained her anger for just a few minutes longer, waiting until her grandchildren were safely out of the way and out of earshot before addressing her son. She didn't look away from him. With her arms folded across her chest, her displeasure ever apparent. Finally, when the coast was clear, she would speak: "It has been brought to my attention that there was an expedition - an unauthorized expedition - made to Coheed recently."
She would pause only briefly, studying her son to see just what sort of a reaction that would earn from him. It had taken a while for her to get her eldest's name when it had come to finding the culprits. Now that she had it though, she wasn't about to let him off the hook for such a catastrophic blunder. "Do have any thoughts to add on this particular matter?"

Akagi's head titled in confusion at the news and he continued to play dumb, "An expedition into Coheed? Why?" he shook his head at her last question, "And why would I know anything about it? Im barely involved with anything here much less other kingdoms Mother," and that was sort of the truth his Mother barely included Akagi in anything and he was her heir, but she made him feel very insignificant in the grand scheme of all things.

With only a handful of words, and an innocence, fake though it might have been, she was incensed, more than that. She managed to bite her tongue. A shadow would pass across her face, causing its features' to darken. Had this been their first encounter, then the queen would likely have been more inclined to listen, to be lenient. Her sources were clear though, they left absolutely no room for misunderstanding.
"Akagi." Her tone was clipped. It was one last olive branch, an offering of peace and a chance to get out of the hole that he had been so determinably digging.

Akagi folded his own arms over his chest staring at his Mother for a few moments, "Mother," he replied adding, "I had nothing to do with Coheed and anyone who has said so is a liar, I also hope they have evidence of some kind to my alleged involvement."
Only one person, one, knew Akagi actually had went to Coheed and unless he was going to throw himself under the bus too Akagi did not believe his Mother had the evidence he suggested. No one could gain access to his workshop without a ring they would have been frozen on the spot had they tried.

Kimora stiffened but briefly. "Very well." She had offered her chance. It was all that she could do. Now, it was Akagi would would have to live with the consequences of such a response.
Her demeanor would relax and become easier almost instantly. "What those responsible failed to comprehend was that the enchanter, Ellora Roquefort, whilst she might have been a worthless traitor was also under the protection of Coheed. Coheed, which is now in turn under the protection of Nevermere. Our allies and a very powerful force to be reckoned with. Now, we face the prospect of potential repercussions should it come to light just what transpired."

Akagi had been braced for the utterly most bizarre twist that would be produced exposing his involvement, he was ready to explain anything several conspiracies to cover his involvement ready at the tip of the Prince's tongue until...
He saw the softening of her presence like perhaps a relief that Akagi wasn't involved and that he didn't buckle to tell on himself. Still he still felt the test was on going with her next choice speech, backhanded in a way, definitely a warning. Only Akagi was more than sure that the conflict his Mother expected, the discovery of a body leading to an investigation and turmoil, wouldn't happen. @ellora was alive.
Yet he played along with her concern, "What all do you know of this situation Mother? I am a tad bit behind I believe, who is Ellora Roquefort?" he was actually going to play the neglected Prince who doesn't know squat about the on going affairs, not entirely stupid just unaware.

Akagi's attempts to feign innocence didn't fool Kimora, nor did she find them amusing. She wasn't too sure just what he was doing or even thought that he was attempting to do other than to see just how far he could push the motherly bond and maternal instinct to protect their children. An interesting decision to say the least...
"Do not pretend to be a fool Akagi. You're in danger that it stops becoming an act." There was a dryness behind her tone but by this point, she was done pretending to be polite and mixing her words. "You know full well who Ellora Roquefort was. One of the council women. I had thought that she perished in a pirate attack years ago. Evidently they saw some use in keeping her alive..."
In many ways, it wrapped things up nicely. It allowed her to answer the question of just where Coheed had got their enchantments from and to blame a councilwoman, the last of the council members at that, for the heinous crime. Akagi had now gone and made a mess of all that.

"This explains where they got those enchantments all of those years ago," Akagi added as if deep in thought yet he had to this conclusion some time ago, "Perhaps you should speak with their conqueror, King Cassian? Or we say and do nothing, we have sat on the knowledge of a wayside enchanter for years why raise the alarm now?"

Kimora let out a frustrated sigh. Easy solutions but each with their own potentially catastrophic drawbacks. "Of course, whatever happens is going to be catastrophic for those responsible. If we tell Cassian, then he will likely want the names of those responsible and it will be something of an obligation for us to punish them." Her eyes narrowed as she turned towards her son, giving him one last chance to come clean. "If we keep it a secret, our allies will rightly be able to accuse us of going behind their backs, double doings. We will never be trusted again and that's if we're lucky. We're talking about a military operation in lands under the protection of our closest allies."

Akagi nodded in agreement, "Heavy are the cons of this, yet I see no reason in rushing to such hasty decisions or conclusions Mother. If the brutes of Coheed suspect military intrusions they would be riled up by now but let's face it they are mindless savages, possibly pinning the Gifteds for whatever happened," he shook his head, "I know you will know what to do Mother, I will be leaving to Nevermere soon to bring the girls to Ophelia for a few weeks. If you need anything I just wanted you to know where I will be."

This was going nowhere and Kimora wasn't convinced that she could continue the discussion with Akagi without giving in to the temptation to hurl her son and heir out of the window.
She took in a deep breath, calming herself as best as she could. "It's never wise to underestimate another nation, no matter how brutish the mindless savages might be." The queen cautioned her son. It was all that she would say about it. "Very well, I will deal with this situation. I hope that you enjoy your time with Ophelia, do send her my regards."
Without saying another word, Kimora would turn and leave, escorted out by two Peacekeepers. This wasn't the end of it, not by half but for the time being, she would let the matter lie.
