The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

"i am sure the Delaney will know loads of midwifes so they probably know who to get as my knowledge of midwifes is none. I will find time to talk to my husband and i feel like once and when i do, my dad will take me off from work. What about training even little training? as i don't think i can go long without training." She explained she want to try and get as stronger and the only way she can do that is by training.
"what sort of support system should i have in place? I have no female on my side of the family all the females in the family are my husband's relations."
"Well," Temperance thought out loud, a little shrug of her shoulders. "A lot of women do some basic work while pregnant. If you really must train, I wouldn't push yourself too much. But it should be fine, especially in the earlier months. As long as you stop if you start feeling any pain. Like I said earlier, the key is listening to your body."
"As for a support system, perhaps the women in your husbands family could help? Even the women who help around your home can be there for you. Even better if they've given birth themselves, you know? Really, I would say anyone who can help soothe your nerves and make you feel safe while you're pregnant. All women are a little afraid that something will go wrong, but when someone else is there to reassure you, it's much easier to get through it. It doesn't have to be a lot of people. One or two close friends, maybe?"

"I promise i will listen to my body." She was good at listening but also good at pushing herself, but if she does become pregnant she have to learn to surpress at the best she can. She knows it going to hard because she is stubborn, but she knows once she get something in her head she like sticking to it.
"I only have one friend, but she also a soldier and she isn't the best at reassuring people. Aside from her i have noone, my dad well he would worry." She laugh softly realising that she doesn't have much of a support system in place. however she heardly interact with a lot of people, which she need to learn to do more off. she need to learn to make friends.
"Well, as long as you do that, you shouldn't have anything to worry about," Temperance said with a smile, happy to hear that the woman wouldn't push herself too much. If Valeria was anything like Constance, she'd always be pushing herself and her body as far as possible to be better at her job.
"Well, we can be friends if you like," she said with a smile. "I do not have children of my own, but I've helped birth enough of them that I'm familiar with all of the stages of pregnancy. So you can always reach out to me if you need a little support."

When the woman offered to be hre friend a true smile came across her face "I would really like that. If you need anything let me know as well i always want to help in anyway. So please reach out to me if anything I can do for you?"
Temperance was a little surprised at how easily Valeria had accepted her offer of friendship. Recently she was making friends with a lot of Nobles, and while she was happy to have more friends, she was just a little astounded by how easily all of them seemed to accept her. "Wonderful...though I cannot think of anything that you could do for me at the moment, and it really wouldn't be necessary for you to do so. I'm just glad to have another friend. Truth be told, I don't have all that many, either."
Of course there were always advantages to knowing a Noble or two if you were in a tight spot, but Temperance wasn't really the kind of person to use her friends for some personal advantage. More than anything, she was glad to have someone else to talk to. She adored Thomas, and she would talk to him and him alone all day if she could, but she couldn't. They both had to work, and Temperance needed female friends just as much.
"So, what do you do for fun, Valeria? You must do something besides train and work?"
Post by Valeria Delaney on Sept 9, 2022 9:20:36 GMT -5
Valeria smiled softly did she accept the friendship a bit to easily, maybe she was just eager to make another friend cause apart from Kat and Keir who does she have to talk to, to hung out with when she just want to talk. Like she has her dad but he is a busy man and it be nice to have more friends that are female at least. "Well the offer will always be on the table. I will be happy to help." She smiled.
When Temp asked her what she does for fun aside from work and training she stopped to think possible longer than what most people would think about such things, but it was hard to think of an answer, "Well, i enjoy reading but that mainly books about boats so that work-related. hanging with my friend Kat, but we train a lot when we are together. chilling with my husband. apart from that I don't know i hardly get asked to do stuff so i just train and work. What about yourself?"
"I do appreciate the offer," Temperance said, giving her new friend a smile. "And if I ever think of something I might need, I'll reach out to you first." Even though she wasn't sure it would ever be necessary for her to ask someone from the nobility for a favor, it was nice to know she could if she needed to. Maybe the connection would even be useful to Thomas in the future, who could say? Either way, Temperance was just happy to have made a new friend.
It did seem to take Valeria a while to think of something, and that was something Temperance could understand. She herself hadn't spent a lot of time outside of her work until Thomas came along. "Reading counts, even if it is about work. I do much the same. Until Thomas and I began courting, all I really focused on was my work and whatever surrounded it. Now I spent any extra time with him, and it doesn't really matter what we do together as long as we're together. So it seems you and I have that in common."
At the mention of a friend they had in common, though, Temperance's smile perked up again. "You mentioned Kat - do you mean Lady Katerina Winters? If so, I imagine training with her must be exhilarating. We're friends as well."

"yeah me and my husband love spending whatever time we have together, we just love making each other laugh. he has the most beautiful laugh that just makes my heart grow for him even more." She explained, that it is the sort of laugh that makes you laugh as well even if you don't feel like laughing. his presence just makes you feel safe.
"Yeah lady Kat winters it one hundred percent keeps you on your toes, she is not the sort of woman who do things the easy way, if she wanted to do something it's one hundred and ten percent or nothing, all or nothing. Always the deep end for her. So you always have to be on your toes when you do training with her."
Temperance smiled as Valeria spoke of she and her husband making one another laugh. To some it would probably seem boring. Like Katerina Winters, for instance. But to Temperance it meant everything. She and Thomas could laugh together for hours over absolutely nothing, so she understood exactly what Valeria meant. "I feel the same way about Thomas. Some men are so serious, you never see them laugh and when they smile, it's at social gatherings and it feels so fake, doesn't it? I've already said we're both quite lucky to have found them but I feel that doubly so now."
Keeping you on your toes felt like the understatement of the year to Temperance. Katerina was a one-woman army in her own right, which made her even more impressing, so Temperance nodded and smiled as Valeria spoke of her that way. "Goodness, I can imagine. I went to the military school around the same time she did and I was always very impressed by her. We met again recently and she was as strong willed and blunt as ever. I really admire you both for pursuing what you're passionate about and not letting anything get in your way."

She laughed softly. "I hope one day i have the honour of meeting Thomas he seem like a great guy. How did you two meet?" She asked her really intrigued about how two love birds meet. She have heard many story about arrange marriages but with a few friends falling in love then getting married so it is nice for Val at least to hear a good love story.
"Yeah I was like four years below Kat but always was impressed with her skill when I saw her train. She used to pin the guy who knows her husband within seconds flat and yet he is taller then her in size. It was quite entertaining to watch. Plus I wouldn't let anybody get in my way, just ask my dad I am quiet a stubborn woman when it come to something i want. Hated taking no as an answer."
"I'm sure you'll meet him sometime, we've become friends after all," Temperance said with a smile. "How we met...well, like many others do, through work. He came to me injured and while I took care of his injuries, we began talking and really just...connected very well." It wasn't the whole story, but it wasn't untrue, either. He had been injured, and come to her, and they had talked while she dressed his injuries. "We started officially courting just a few days later. I'm very happy with him." The grin on her face could hardly be wiped away when she spoke of Thomas. "Oh, how about you? The way you speak of your husband, it doesn't sound like your marriage was arranged?"
Laughing lightly as Valeria explained how both she and Katerina were stubborn and strong, all Temperance could do was nod. "I've no doubt of that. She isn't much taller than me but I believe she's deceptively strong," Temperance said with a smile. "And you should never take no for an answer if it's something you really want or deserve. Women don't get enough credit for those kinds of things, you know? They think we're being unreasonable or something. I say just keep doing what you're doing."

"That is so cute." She smiled as she listened to the story how they two mat. "No me and Keirs marriage was arranged. I mat him in the military wing, he was training with a dummy by himself. He called me a deck runner and i called him land boy so we trained together to see how we differ in skills. something happened well we trained we kind of just saw each other, not like how we see other but in a way that nobody sees each other before. He invited me for a meal and now we are married." She grinned. Thinking how he was on the first meeting he was so shy of being improper he was such a gentleman, and still is.
"No we don't like there this open court coming up and if like anything us woman will have to stand there and look pretty. like we might have things to say, but we can't speak unless we are addressed by his majesty the King to speak. Like I know the tradition and what not, but there are some tradition are so old fashion and just need to move on. Like where is our equality in all this?"
"It wasn't as cute as it sounds," Temperance admitted. After all, two men had literally chased him into her greenhouse with the intent to hurting him much more, she'd had to scare them away, and then she'd called him a hound for barging in and frightening her like that. But when you summarized it was certainly a lot cuter. "The way you too met is absolutely lovely, though! Right out of a storybook. A friendly rivalry turned romantic, now that's sweet."
Temperance nodded agreement as Valeria spoke about the inequality of it all. "Honestly!" She said, throwing her hands up as much as she cook with the basket full of goods hanging onto her arm. "I mean, if women can fight and hold rank in the military, why must we still be subservient? I mean, Thomas doesn't treat me that way, and it sounds like Lord Delaney treats you as an equal too. Is it so hard for other men to understand?" She huffed a little. Maybe her stubbornness on this topic had been created by watching her own parents. Gustav Towers might have been the man with the Name, the man who made them all a member of the Towers family, but Taesa Towers ran the show. Gustav had always treated his wife lovingly as his equal, and that was what Temperance had grown up watching. So you can imagine her surprise when she found out that men were actually the ones in charge. "Oh, well," she finally said with a sigh. "You and I found two of the good ones. Eventually things will change...progress...they must, right? And lives will be better for our daughters. They'll have more options in life than we had."
Her face reddened a little bit at the thought of her own children. "Well, you know, if we have daughters. I certainly hope I have one."

Vak watched as Tempy spoke about equality she smiled as she admired the way she spoke on the matter. feeling the hope they have for the future they have for the children for our daughters. She blushed thinking about having a daughter too. "If and when you have a daughter, she will be as beautiful, kind, and will have the equality she deserves. We will give her the chance, our daughters the chance to be more then we can be. We will have to stand for what rightful theres. cause us girls, we run the world." Val smiled
