[ Oneshot documenting changes Cassian has made in Neveremere. Affects @norah and Regan Lassiter . Good for Kennet Caern to be aware of. ]
There was always much to do in Nevermere. The kingdom had acquired copious amounts of land in the last decade, as well as new peoples and all the benefits and complications therein. While reviewing systems and processes, Cassian had decided upon a certain change. Where currently Magda Ivanova was the only Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Norah Carter was the ambassador for Lorendale, Cassian decided to change Norah's official role. Iliana would surely want to appoint a Lorendale ambassador, anyway. Thus, he retitled Norah to become an additional Minister of Foreign Affair, a title that acknowledged her origins as Nevermerean and a role that would play a critical part of assimilating the new territories and their people into Nevermere. She was already working on that front in Cambria, and Cassian was confident in the work she would accomplish there. News of her change of title would come to her by letter through a messenger.
As for Regan, as she was already well aware, the king had developed a role that would perfectly suit her skill set and serve him well. She was formerly announced as the King's Hunstman, a position that gave her military ranking parallel to the king's witch, allowing her to pull rank as she sought to accomplish whatever task the king personally set her on. No doubt there were questions about the young woman's ability to rightly manage that kind of responsibility, but those questions were better left in the mind than spoken, as to say so would be to question the decision and therefore the authority of the king.
Lastly, and though this was technically only a rumor but it was true, there were reports of the king's intention to establish a city in the lands they had acquired from Coheed, over the ruins of Zulu Carr. Little else was known by the whispering public, but in his study rest numerous plans on parchment for the establishment of this city. Before Coheed and Cambria, there had only been Skia and then surrounding towns and villages. Cambria had become the second city of Nevermere, and Coheed the third. This would be the first Nevermerean-established outside of Skia, and many began to wonder who would live there, as no one currently occupied that land. Was it a place for Cambrians? For Coheedsmen? Or for Neveremereans? Time would tell.
Or, perhaps, open court would tell.
