The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

This fall and winter was a period of low activity for the site, but even so, the Dresmond board has continued to simmer with excitement. This kingdom has moved from distant side dish to a dramatic main course in the world of Terra Nova. A big shout out to members Heather, Nix, and Darkest whose high activity has helped lead it through a renaissance into a new era!
Keion paced back and forth within his office, stopping only to take sips from a glass that sat on the edge of his table. He had called upon Calanthe and asked her to meet him in the estate. It was rare for someone without the Blackwood name to be invited in so frequently... but times were changing indeed. For not only had he summoned his non-Blackwood niece to the estate, but he was about to send her on a very dangerous, very secretive mission. He loathed to do it, but he did not have many options, and he knew she could handle it regardless.

Calanthe found herself at the Blackwood state often during the summer. Spending many hours in his workshop trying to learn everything she possibly could. There really weren't enough hours in a day, but luckily the summer had been long. It had also meant she had less time to spend with her other aunts and uncles, and some slight slacking on her own personal projects, but it would be worth it in the end.
She was however surprised when she was leaving Evander's workshop and was told that Keion was asking for her. Now that was certainly a bit of a surprise but she just shrugged her shoulders and followed in suit. Maybe he wouldn't have expected her so soon but that really wasn't on her. So she knocked on the door and waited a polite second before opening it.

Keion let Calanthe in his office when she knocked, not at all surprised that she arrived quickly. Evander had told him that she was training underneath him and it pleased him to know she was taking such an avid interest in her studies.
He offered her a genuine smile, settling in his chair behind the desk and motioning for her to take a seat. "Calanthe, I feel as if we have not spoken in so long. I hear Evander has taken you under his wing. How have your studies been going?" He steepled his fingers and rested them on his desk as he waited for her answer.

Before her uncle could settle down Calanthe held out her arms for a hug. She missed spending time with Keion who was always so busy these days. Made sense of course, her father being missing and having to step up. Didn't change the fact that she wanted a hug from her favorite uncle, despite spending more and more time with Evander.
"It's uncle vander so it's intense, but I'm learning so much it's amazing." The things that he was teaching her weren't things the stuffy academics were into these days. It was real, get your hands in there enchanting, and that was one of the many reasons she threw herself into those lessons. "I can't wait to use what I'm learning for bettering the Blackwood name." Because, as Evander had taught her, they were the only way forward.

Keion gladly accepted Calanthe's hug, squeezing her tightly and holding on for longer than normal. She would find out soon why he was feeling so affectionate at the moment.
Settling at his desk, he nodded approvingly. "Good. It takes a Blackwood to know Blackwood standards." He fell silent for a moment, looking at her before he cleared his throat. "Bettering the Blackwood name... has a bit to do with why I called you here today."
He tapped his fingers on his table before he began speaking. "There is someone who may be in Coheed... her name is Ellora Roquefort. She was on the Council with my father, your grandfather, before he and everyone else disappeared." He looked up at her then, his gaze intense. "She was wanted by the Royal Family. Prince Akagi told me he went and dealt with her, but... it was quite odd. Something seemed off."
He paused, seeming to consider for a moment before blowing out a breath, "That is why we need our own eyes in Coheed to figure out what happened. That is why I am asking you to go into Coheed. Make yourself some items so that you may remain stealthy. Invisibility, soundless boots, whatever it is you may need." He fell silent, allowing her time to process.
