The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
They finished there spar and yeah Zahra was annoyed at her self more then anything. like she know she is quick on her feet and she knows she can be quick on her feet for hours as she has good stamina. Like they amount of laps she does on a daily basis round the training yard is more then the averaged soldier and people oftern wonder how she doesn't get tired as quickly as other people. However the words rang through Zahra's head about what Regan said that we are witchs and two weeks till they was to spar again.
She noticed as Refan was leaving and she catched up to her. "How can I beat stromcreast? I know I am quick on feet, i am over confident and I am bitchy. Lietanent woodwick and Stromcreast know i am bitchy as Hell, I know my over confidence is my greatest weekness as well as my quickness." Zahra was standing there. "This is a soldier who is embressed but wanting to learn. Teach me your ways."

Regan, stuck in her own head, hadn’t heard Zarha approach. So it wasn’t until she started talking that the Huntsman stopped and turned, blinking as a torrent of words came her way, one right after another. She blinked, trying to process what was coming at her. The girl was obviously distressed. Regan could understand that. She’d been there herself. But there was still a system of decorum to be maintained. Regan faced Zarha fully, face stern.
“As Lieutenant Woodwick said,” Regan started, uncomfortably donning a tone of authority, “Best not to use that kind of language with superior officers. That aside…” Regan sighed, shaking her head, “Walk with me.” Regan turned and started off, counting on Zarha to follow.
“Why did Stormcrest beat you?” Regan asked, a simple enough question.
Zahra nodded she didn't know a word that better summerise her tone then Bitchy, she was bitchy. However, Regan was right it just hard to articulate the right words sometimes. So when Regan asked her when they walked why she thought Ber won the spar, "He is more aware of his stregth and weekness, he watched me, a better soldier then I am." Zahra voice was soft only loud enough for Regan to here.
Zahra didn't like to be defeated but since the mandatory training, she has hardly done any sparring often training by herself cause she know she could easily take on any of the people in her group with once punch. That in mind, stepping back was so hard for her, because she did want to win, she wanted it but she know she couldn't win.

Regan’s brow furrowed. She took every new little snippet of information and compared it against all that had come before, putting the pieces of this woman together. She continued on, trusting Zarha would follow her.
“A better soldier?” She asked, curious, “And what makes one a good solder?”

Zahra follows behind. She would of said something arrogent not that long ago but recent interaction have made her question everything she knew about herself. "Truthfully, I would say something along the line of somebody who would train every day even on their days off. Somebody who is super determined to be the super best. Somebody like me." She give a small laugh. "Now I do not know what makes a good soldier."
Zahra spent so much time training by herself, not sparing with anyone. Training by herself for ages that she doesn't know what it like to spar with people.

It was a familiar train of thought; Regan too used to spend endless hours on her days on and days off trying to prove herself in the training yard. It had served her well, but there was more to it that she’d not realized was important until later. Maybe this soldier was the same.
“Putting in the hours is admirable, yes,” Regan said, tone warming a little to the woman, “But it’s about more than that. You’ve got to study more than weaponry, you’ve got to study people too. Get to know how people think. Study them. It’s…” Regan shrugged, chuckling a little, “Easier said than done, I suppose.”

Zahra laugh softly as she mentioned studying people as she looked around a bit. She take a small sigh. "Yeah, it harder then people try and make it seem. People.." She wasn't going to say names. "been saying I need to trust my fellow soldiers more. Be able to read them to the point that they not needing to speak. However, I am struggling with that aspect. It easier sometimes for me at least not getting to know people, trust them." Zahra was appricated that Regan was talking to her and taken the time to speak to her in a open manner.
"How do one learn how to read people?" Zahra has a lot still to open up and trust people. Zahra was still a close wall. wanting to snap at any chance she got and she just want to punch anything she can. She was scared to get close to any of her fellow soldier knowing that they could die at any given moment

“Huh,” Regan said, tone neutral as she continued to meander toward her destination. Trust was essential to any soldier’s station. Regan had often had to trust those she didn’t like with her very life. It was Nevermere, ultimately, that she trusted; the common thread that bound her and her fellow service members together.
Regan shrugged. “I don’t know, you just kind of watch I guess. Talk less, listen more. Get out of your own way and out of your own head. Start looking at the world around you. I mean actually looking at it.”
She wasn’t a poet or philosopher, but she hoped her point got across anyway.
Talk less that was easy for her she can easily go days without talking to anyone, but listening she always struggled with. She has gotten better at it. When she said look at the world. "how do you look at the world?" She asked quick and to the point. She was clear as day listening.

Regan thought for a moment, scanning the world around her as if looking for the answer among the passing soldiers. It was hard to analyze herself. She’d been soldiering for so long, that telling someone how she did it was like explaining how to breathe. But it was a valid question, so Regan did her best to answer it.
“As if I were the enemy,” Regan said with a sense of finality, “Because if you know what’s coming, you can protect against it.”
Zahra looks down for a moment trying to understand what the words meant, she possibly was her own worse enemy herself for the past two years thinking that everybody was going to attack her one way or another. Plus she had see how it was like into concept. "One question cause I personally think you are like outstanding. I know you are a busy woman with being a huntsman but before the spar in two weeks, can we train together?" Zahra asked confident in what she was asking. Determind to want to get better the need to get better for not just herself but her fellow soldiers. Plus if she was to have show Ber up she need as much training as she can get in.
However she didn't ask in a arrogent give it to me way, as even though she possible understand that Regan is busy she would respect her choices.

Regan thought for a moment. On the one hand, she was busy. Unbearably busy training with Othello, making sure that he was not another failure to add to her long list as of late. But on the other hand, having another sparring partner could be refreshing. She was also meant to be a leader, someone other soldiers could look to with respect, and there was value in working on that as well.
“Meet me in the training yard in two days at dusk. Be ready to work.” Surely Zarha would appreciate just what a unique offer this was. Regan wasn’t one to toot her own horn, but she supposed at this point, she was one of the highest-ranking witches in the military. She had exceptional skill, even if the application of that skill was often inaccurate and misguided.

There was excitement in Zahra's eyes as Regan told her to meet her in the training yard in two days' time at down. Keeping herself as professional as possible"I am looking forward to learning from you Ma'am. Thank you for this chance to learn from you." Her voice a bit she was still trying to keep firm being serious. like training with fucking HUNTSMAN. Like this would be amazing. The slight sounds of proud of herself of bitting the bullet and taking the chance to grow herself

Regan could hear the tiny hint of excitement in the woman’s voice. It made her smile just a hair. She remembered when she’d not been so different from this young witch; eager to learn, desperate for any chance to prove herself. It was strange being on the other side of it now, but she was happy to pay it forward. She did cough a little at the compliment, feeling the slightest bit uncomfortable. But Regan knew it was intended in good spirits.
“Uh, you’re welcome.” Regan reached her destination, the hall that led to her room with Othello. She wasn’t about to take the junior soldier down it; Othello was still a wildcard when it came to interactions with other soldiers. Plus the idea that she was sharing a room with a Coheedsman was a little scandalous, though mostly embarrassing.
“I’ll see you then, soldier,” Regan said, dismissing Zarha unless she had something else.

Zahra bowed her head slightly out of respect. "Thank you for your time, Ma'am!." She give a small smile before she started walking f to do her daily task that she needed to do for today. She was looking forward to her training sessions.
