The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

"Come on Sliva, it's not that hard", the officer barked at her, getting a little annoyed now. Taking some steps before stopping was one thing, but falling to the floor? Kind of pathetic if you asked him. With a groan he stormed off, only to return moments later with a basket with shoulder straps (like a backpack). He put it down and started filling it with a few heavy stones.
Then he lifted the basket up again and walked over to Zarha. Still with that annoyed expression on his face, he threw it down at her feet.
"If you can't run slower by yourself, then I'll make you run slower. Put it on and run again!"

Not that hard, she was retraining her body. She can't be expected to retain it within two tries. She was trying. However, she did not snap especially when he told her to put on the bag on. "Yes sir." Her face stayed monotoned. Putting the bag on and started running again. Her eyes forward. She manage to run at a steady pace with the bag on her back, it hasn't effected her speed that much, only a smidge. Listening out for the key word.

Zarha should be glad that she didn't verbalise her thought, because Aldrich would have absolutely ripped her apart for it. It wasn't hard, to him it was just about not wanting to change. But still, he could see that Zarha was trying.
The stones were heavy, but didn't seem to affect Sliva's running all too much. If she still stumbled forward, he'd put even more stones in the backpack-likr basket, but first he'd give her a chance to redeem herself.

'you can do this Zarha' was going through her head as she ran when she heard Abbott called Attack and she halted. Maybe it was the bag pulling back a bit, but she managed to stay up right and managed to stop without taking a few steps. She did it, phew. she did it.

"Good!" he barked loudly across the field when she managed to stop without taking more steps. "Keep it up Sliva. Don't disappoint me now, alright?!" He clapped his hands once before gesturing. "Run again. We're doing this a couple more times until I see that you're able to stop each time. Then we try again without the stones."

She did it. She manged to stop without taking another step or falling over. That was an achievement, in a way. Some people might see it as small, however for her it was kinda of a big deal. As she normally found it hard to stop on her own. So there was a slight smile on this young woman's face.
When he said for her to run again and that they would do it a couple more times to make sure she can do it before trying without the stones. "Yes Sir!" She started running ready to be able to do it again the excitement running through her body.

His eyes followed her as she started to run again. After a few laps, he suddenly yelled out again. "Stop!" He would repeat this a few more times, unless she failed again.

Zarha kept running and running listening for those key words. Keeping an eye on abbott he might have a pattern of when he was about to shout the words. A key sign of when he was about to do it. That what everybody else say. When you start to trust people you can read people without them speaking.
She keep stopping the weight of the backpack to make sure she trip. She would have to picture that bag once it is removed. She keep doing that until Abbott tells her to stop.

Aldrich made sure not to fall into a pattern to stay unpredictable for as much as possible.
Zarha was doing good. With an approving look on his face he followed her movements. After the last stop, he scraped his throat. "Time to lose the basket. Let's try without it now."
He waited and if she took it off, he'd tell her to start running again. Again, a few laps and then... "Attacker!"

She started to feel a bit breathless. However she know she still have more in her. When he asked her to take the basket off she did without second thought. Not like she could anyway as he is her Superior. Plus she respect him in a way. He has a way of wanting to push her. Some might well do find him annoying, her well she find him possible the one that will push her futher then anybody else before.
Started running noting that there haven't been much in the way of signs to tell when Abbott was about to shout attack, which make sense as in a really combat how would anybody know when there was going to be a attack. So as she was running it felt strange that she could feel the weight still on her back as she ran so when Attack came the weight of what would be the basket pulled her back a bit. making her stop on the spot.

The basket had helped. Once Aldrich yelled for het to stop, the young woman came to a stop without take any more steps. "Fantastic"X he shouted at her. "Good, good.bnow come over here Sliva."
He waited until she had reached him. "You made great progress today. It's best we don't push too far now and end on a good note. In a week or so we'll do this again and in the meantime, make sure to keep practicing. Don't disappoint me by not being able to stop next time we're doing this."

Abbott said fantastic. That would was a bit of a surprise for her coming from his lips. But it felt.... nice. She want to hear those words coming from him. She walked over to him as he spoke that he want to work on this again, "Yes sir I will keep practicing." She will have to try and see if she could fit it in with her mandatory training. That way she will be able to have the help of the soldiers in her group.
"Thank you Officer Abbott." Her breathing slowly started to go back to a normal rhythm.

He nodded. "We're done here then. Head back to the military wing and get some rest. Don't overdo yourself by staying here. You hear me?" He sounded stern. Sliva had this habit of staying on the training yard after a training to continue a bit more on her own. He didn't particularly like that. Training without supervision could lead to teaching yourself wrong ways of doing something.
After that, he turned to leave and walk back to the military wing himself.

Zarha wanted to stay out longer and train more. Plus her resting? She doesn't know how to rest, however she couldn't rest she have reading lessons in a bit. So even though she wouldn't be training physically, she would be training mentally. Her smile faded a bit as she nodded, "Yes sir." Zarha watched as Abbott left her, she was slightly debating if she should do a bit more training before she take a wash. However, she said she wouldn't to Abbott.
So she went to have a bath it wasn't a relaxing bath before she went straight to her reading lessons.
