The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
There seemed to be a long pause, one that made him think it might be only said from his lips that night. But even if it was, he didn’t need more from her. She had shown her devotion to him, had continued to. And while he questioned her at times, the gripping anxiety of failure making his thoughts turn, she remained there. To push him, to shake him back to reality, she was exactly what he needed.
Yet her lips parted from his, and she breathed the sentiment back to him. And damn him, but he breathed out a tension that he knew she’d feel leave him. “Good,” he nodded, pressing a kiss to her lips, then each corner, the tip of her nose. “Good,” he said more soundly and his hands smoothed down her sides.

Magda was happy. Happier than she’d ever been. More at peace than she’d ever thought possible. Rian was a harbor that had granted her safety—a life far from the memories of her father and her life in Nevermere. Here she wasn’t the court slut. Instead, she was a wife, something respectable, a title she could wear without shame.
Magda kissed him, with all the desperate intensity of a woman gone completely mad.
He chuckled against her lips, the desperation making a pride swell within him. Good. He had already said it, but he felt it again. Good, this was good. Their pairing was toxic but good and right. He knew it, and as much as he hated her before, it only made him love her more now. She wouldn’t be escaping him for hours now, between moments of rest and his own needs mixing with hers. He was convinced if there was any night to conceive a child, it was this one.
He had Magda on his side, and with her… they’d bring Terra Nova to its knees.
