The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

(this thread is for @elaxi )
Eirwen was frantic, manic, and in the middle of a full blown episode inside the Last Call. Ermir was dead. Not just dead or murdered but slaughtered! It was all that bitches fault, Tazmin , and she was dead too. The girls mood was reflecting off of her and on Yule, but he wasn't doing anything but pacing frantically and flapping his wings against his chest. The last time she had this kind of real reaction of processing the limitless emotions her head just couldn't sort quickly was when she had sacrificed her baby brother, a drastic change like that even at her own hands was...
'eirwen you need to try and calm down, you are like really tossing harsh vibes,' Yule pecked at the ground stamping, he kind of retreated when Eirwen snapped up from the rabbits she was skinning, "he was my friend Yule! A better friend than you are, stupid chicken!"
She stabbed the knife through the chicken she held pinning the chicken to the wood floor as she tore fist fulls of feathers talking out loud rapidly, "I would rather obey a fine lion, much stronger than myself, than two hundred rats of my own species! Vermin! I think we deserve this punishment of the Eldouir...weak pathetic Dresmondi...I can't wait to be whisked away from here with Alistair! I'll be the baddest bitch around her then...you watch...no one will take anyone from me..."

Elaxi didn't understand why Ermir had taken the girl in, but now that he was gone, she felt a slight obligation to keep Eirwen around and out of trouble. That was apparently impossible though, and she wasn't sure how he had put up with all of it. She was a wild child in all of the worst ways, although, she was still helpful on occasion. Like helping prepare the animals, or yelling at people when the looked at her wrong.
Hearing some shouting from the back, Elaxi took a breath and made her way over. To find Eirwen being her usual self, although ranting about Alistair whisking her away. That wasn't great, Ermir would probably not have approved of that. "Eirwen, what's.... going on."

Eirwen rose when @elaxi called out to her the tall dark haired Dresmondi was breathing sporadically, her green eyes were wild and wet from the tears she didn't even know were there falling down her face. Bloody feathered fists clenched and unclenched with each breath but she couldn't breath it seemed, "that bitch took him from me ! She took Ermir! I HATE HER!"
She kicked the nearest wooden set of crates and screamed ! Yule retreated within himself thinking perhaps Eirwen had finally broke for good, others would possibly think she was asinine because Eirwen had personally killed more of her own kind but the principal she stood on was that those people didn't matter to her. Ermir did. He mattered.
Elaxi wasn't sure how Ermir had been so patient with this girl. Usually Elaxi tried to see the good in her fellow Dresmondi, but she wasn't going to look past the woman being cruel to others in order to make the Eldouir like her. All the same she had promised Ermir to be good to the girl so she'd do her best.
"Who do you hate Eirwen? That soldier is dead so all is even now right?" And it was actually Hiram that had killed her, but that didn't seem like the right thing to say. The girl was twisted around one Eldouir's dick, and she didn't think it was a stretch that Eirwen was willing to do more.

"Tazmin, I hate her! And I'm glad she's dead," Eirwen spat as she frantically started to pace, Yule had been feeding off Eirwen's energy letting cool air emulate throughout the Last Call, "and yeah she's dead she got what she deserved and it should all be even but it makes my heart hurt either way....Ermir was good and he kept me together if that makes sense and now..what do I need to be good for?"
Elaxi bit her lip. She hated Tazmin too, so she could understand the young woman's anger. Partially anyways, and certainly not to this extent.
So she tried to channel her best Ermir, wondering if maybe she could get @embric to take another kid in. Probably a bit too much to ask though. "You could be good for his memory, for the person he knew you could be, and to prove everyone wrong." Elaxi was pretty sure this girl had been seriously fucked in the head (amongst other places), and despite her late friends best effort, she wasn't sure if the good would win out in her seemingly frozen heart.

Be good for his memory. And Eirwen seemed to break, sinking to the floor, the cold was getting worse as Yule was causing the temperature to drop in the air.
"im not good," she cried, "don't act like i am either, only ermir could see it though and he's dead," her eyes flashed every emotion possible and a new light seemed to burn behind them, darker than before if it was believable, "so why not just be who i am...can you honestly say without lying to me that im good?"
Elaxi wanted to sigh, pinch the bridge of her nose ad say no she saw no good in the girl. Because honestly, it was incredibly hard for her to see. That was always something she had admired in her fellow tavern worker. He had seen the good in everyone, probably even in Hiram. But this girl wasn't Hiram, she was hurt and broken, but that didn't mean her light was totally gone.
"I can see the good, you didn't have to come and help at the tavern. And you didn't have to stay. But you did, even without him here you have been working hard." It had honestly been a great help, and Elaxi wasn't sure they would be able to have stayed afloat so easily without her help. Hopefully not something she would have to find out, but it didn't look very good.
Especially since Yule was making the place a tad bit chilly.

Eirwen looked up at Elaxi furiously wiping tears away but fresh ones wouldn't fall now, she was cried out, and she rubbed her eyes raw, "so are you saying I can stay and work? i don't wanna lose this place cause it's all we got of him now."
Elaxi looked at the girl and nodded. She could grudgingly see why Ermir had taken her in, despite her being absolutely crazy she was just a kid. A misguided one for sure, and maybe always would be, but perhaps it was worth a shot. ”I hope you do stay Eirwen. You’ve been a huge help really, I don’t know what we’d do without you. And I’m not just saying that, I’m not the coddling type.” Maybe there would be a day she wanted Eirwen out but today wasn’t that day, and if she wanted to stay there was still and open place for her and Yule

Eirwen hugged Elaxi against her will very tightly, "oh thank you! Thank you so much, I promise I'll be on my best behavior for you just like for Ermir! I'll do whatever you say!"
Elaxi didn't like hugs really, but patted Eirwen on the head as the girl pulled in close. This wasn't her forte, and she had never planned on making it one of them. But now she had Ermir's two kids and whatever other strays he had decided to befriend. "If you need anything just let me know Eirwen, we both know I'm not Ermir, but I'll try to help anyway I can." Smiling at the girl, she knew that this was going to be a rough few seasons of adjustments.
