The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

(This thread is for @rian )
Kaalim left his home now full of newborn babies, his wives were on the mend and other women had come together to help with the babies. The former chieftain and mountain sized man had things to achieve today and the number one person he wanted to have pavalar with was Rian his brother and Chieftain, so with heavy furs on Kaalim made his way to the chieftains hut walking tall amongst the bustling Coheed people of Gilead. He didn't knock but once inside the door he called out, "Rian are you here?" his booming voice needed no introduction, Rian had heard it all his life.
Winter had come and settled amongst them, and the Chieftain certainly was looking forward to the spring. When crops would grow and flourish, so his people would be able to store and replenish their stocks. He hoped it would also be a sign that perhaps the winter was just not the time for Magda and him to have a child... but maybe the spring. With the warming weather being more welcoming...
Rian had just brought in stacks of wood to place near the fireplaces, dumping the pile from his arms to the metal holder when he heard the booming voice of his brother. A small smirk on his face as he stood and moved from his room up the stairs (as apparently in Nevermere it was a normal thing to have more than one story) and down into the receiving room. "Guess I will need to get those locks checked on my door, letting in anyone who pleases."

Kaalim laughed, "I would break them, you know this? Nothing could keep me little brother," the mountain sized greeted his Chieftain and brother with a fist to his chest, "I came to talk, about a few things actually," Kaalim remained standing and crossing his arms over his large chest, "I'd like for you to involve Izen more with helping you. He's your second and he wants to prove himself I made poor use of him when I was in your position, as did most before us we should remedy this."
A dip of his head was given in return to the greeting, appropriate for their two stations but Rian crossed the room. Brother by blood or no, he would clap his brother on the back with a hug before he listened to Kaalim’s ask. Because surely he was suggesting or asking this of him more than demanding it.
“Izen has been training with the others, hasn’t he?” It wasn’t a challenge but truly a question. Rian’s mind already turning over a few things on his mind.

Returning the hug from Rian he didn't skip a beat in answering his Chieftain, "If that's the direction and task he's been given, then surely so," Kaalim shrugged though, "he doesn't understand why I stepped down and felt that he didn't support him enough, which I told him was foolish to think he supported me since the day I believed he started walking, close shadow if you will. I guess he feels he isn't living up enough to the role and he needs your assurance perhaps that he is, maybe more direction...but maybe we all need that from you Chieftain. Magda told me she'd like if my support came from being a general to your army of warriors..."
While the surprise didn't register on his face, he certainly felt it within himself. Magda Ivanova was offering positions now? Well that would be quite the conversation to have with his wife later. He gave his brother a long look. "Do you think you'd be ready for such a thing? If I was to offer it?" He asked, tilting his head slightly. It had been months since they had lost his son, months since that beast had raged outside of Kaalim at the loss.
"I don't mean you any disrespect brother, just putting you in front of all those men, and women, they will have questions."

Kaalim knew what Rian was asking about and he stepped to face his brother placing both his large hands on his brothers shoulders and looked down at him, "I'm ready to be whatever you need me to be Rian and being a warrior and a fighter is what I know best, this is the samething I will tell your warriors."
He moved away, "It will be a distraction for me, I can't do anything for Ra'ead and I know that, but I can still live for the children ND wives I do have. For my brothers and my Chieftain."
