The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Kelder's sister with a heavy heart and steps was leading all the children to the designated spot where Viveka was told to meet them, little Zaragoza hanging off of her Aunt's hip was slumped on the woman's shoulder asleep. Kelder's oldest had been silently sobbing to herself during the long walk to the meeting place a spot intentionally picked furthest from home that Kelder could have thought of to send them, a destination that would be night by the time they got there. The only person missing was Kelder.
The location was so very far from the village, but she supposed that was how it had to be in order to see Kelder's sister and her children off to Coheed. They had sent the group on ahead while Viveka went back to pack a few things.
She didn't know what was going to happen. All she could do was prepare for any outcome. So the warrior strapped on her axes and packed a small deer-skin pouch with food.
She mounted Saelphira and set off to the meeting spot. It was far and Saelphira would help them move quicker, plus it would look like Viveka was just heading out for an evening ride as she tucked the pack in front of her and away from prying eyes.
When she was able to find the group, she would do a quick scan, noting the one missing. "Where is Kelder?" she demanded, worry already lacing her tone.
The woman looked up at Viv, "Viveka she...she wants you to go and tell Wren yourself that she needs to come back and finish what she doesn't settle," she paused wiping a tear that fell but it was followed by more, "Kelder said there was absolutely no reason for you to get caught up in what she's doing...you know how she is Viveka once she sets her mind to something it's settled. It will happen...." Kelder had told her sister to persuade or stall Viveka for however long she needed, "Come back with help Viv, plus I can't get this boat into the water myself.."
Pure fury darkened Viveka's features as she immediately spun Saelphira back towards the way she had already come. "Why is she so bullheaded," Viveka snarled. Saelphira tossed her head at her rider's anger, pulling at the bit. "Has she thought about the fact that we need her to help us? That her life is not something she can just throw away?"
Her eyes flashed, the full weight of her anger directed at Kelder's sister, "The children can help you with the damn boat."

"Cot meet kettle, I trust Kelder..." the sister rolled her eyes, "go a head though rush back Viveka, I will tell Wren myself and I'll tell her how you both died so valiantly! I swear you Valkyrie are the same," she ushered the girls to stand off to the side, "We'll get it."
Viveka opened her mouth to make another angry retort but something in Kelder's sister's similar anger gave her pause, for her words rang true. Glancing up at the sky had Viveka's jaw tightening. Night time was already upon them and she would almost certainly not make it back to the village in time. She had no doubt Kelder had planned it that way.
And if she did go all the way back to the village? Kelder could already be dead and then she would fight alone and meet the same fate. Viveka squeezed her eyes shut and tipped her head back, opening to gaze up into the sky. "Forgive me," she whispered to herself before squaring her shoulders and turning Saelphira back around. "Let us be on our way then," was all she said.
