The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
The mess hall was crowded, like it usually was this time of day. Pausing in the doorway to collect himself, Ber took a deep breath and scanned the room, unable to stop himself from noticing the number of witches in the crowd; he always noticed the number of witches around him, these days. Taking another breath, he refocused: he was here for a reason. It wouldn’t take long, and then he could get away from the witches and their unstoppable magic and all of the potential werewolves who sat beside them.
There she was. Forcing himself to ignore the sensation of eyes drilling into the side of his head, Ber set into motion and strode over a table on the far side of the room. The seat across from Sliva was empty, and it was into this that he slid. “Sliva,” He said by way of greeting. “I’ve got a question. You got a moment?”

Zarha was in the mess hall Abbott wanted her to interact with people more. However, this wasn't a over night thing, that going to take time and Zarha is truthfully worried about making friends. Currently she was sitting eating a meal when she saw Ber came and sit in front of her. She looked around bit unsure, like Ber normally tries to avoid her at all cost, what is the fuck is he doing talking to her? Maybe when Octavius thrown him agianst the wall he hit his head harder then she first thought?
She takes a bite of her food though. "Sure, I got a moment Stormcrest." She was intrigued about what this question was and why he wanting to ask her out of everybody here in this room.

Sliva looked clearly confused by presence, which was fair. Ber did not make a habit of speaking to her - and had no plans of changing that - but today, he would make an exception. She took a bite of her food as he nodded. “Okay,” He said, pausing for a moment before asking, “The night of the ball. When Wulfbrand turned into the werewolf, what was the first thing you did to try to stop him?”

Zarha looked at him for a moment when he asked her what the first thing she did at the ball when thing unfolded. A bit confused. "I cast an incantation specifically ice towards the floor in front of him to try slow him down, before he lung at...." She looked at Ber for a moment before she stopped eating."Hows your recovery going? I wanted to come and visit to see how you are, but i thought I was the last person you want to see well recovering."
She know that the last time they spoke they had a disagreement. She had a feeling they will go their different ways and Ber will have friends and she will sit in the corner all alone wondering how to be human.
She cast an incantation. He’d suspected that was the case, because if he was suddenly faced with fighting a powerful opponent, he would also fall back on his most powerful weapon at hand. At the ball, he’d tried - he’d had the idea of flinging the cup in his hand - but the werewolf had been too fast. Witches, however, were never unarmed: they had their magic.
Mind wandering down that path, Ber had nodded when Sliva answered his question, but when she changed the subject and asked about him, he blinked and looked at her. “What?” He’d been out of the infirmary and back on the training grounds for a little while now. “Oh. Yeah, it’s fine.” The words were dismissive. He wasn’t here to talk about him.
“So, at the ball,” He prompted her, refocusing. “You cast an incantation because… that’s what they tell you to do in combat? Use your magic?” Despite the assumption, his words were still more question than statement. Ber was not a witch; he had never paid much attention to how witches were trained.

Zarha give a slight nod when he said it is fine. Normal Ber response nothing more then a plain response from him. She expect nothing less from him. When he still asking about magic she wasn't sure why he wanted to know about magic. "We get taught to use what we have at hand. If magic what we have at hand then yes, but magic takes time. That why we train in both weapon and magic. As if we trained to cast an incantation on somebody who standing right in front of me, well let just say I won't be fighting any more." She explained.
Again, Ber nodded his understanding. He took a moment to see if he could think of anything else to ask, but Sliva had summarily confirmed what he’d suspected. There was no reason for him to hang around. Slapping the table lightly with one hand, he made to get up, then paused, half out of his seat, to look back down at the witch as another question struck him: “Oh. Apart from not having enough time, there’s nothing else that would stop you from being able to use your magic?”

Zarha was about to go back to eating when Ber started to stand up however when he stopped Zarha looked up to him. "Well we need to speak as well all magic need verbal components. Summons need a bit more, like when we was dealing with the rabid dog and i brought out a summon, i had to sacrifice apart of me to do that. The bigger the summon, the bigger the sacrifice we give to the summon. Just as long as what we give is personal to the us then that all that matters." She explained.
The ability to speak and a sacrifice if summoning something. He remembered learning that now, but hadn’t been sure if there was anything else. Ber nodded again. “Okay,” He said, finishing the movement to rise fully. Unless Sliva stopped him, he would turn and, finally, leave the mess hall.

Zarha give a small smile and nodded when he just utter the words okay. This possible the longest they have spoke without argument and when he left she couldn't help but give a small laugh. It was strange, however it was strange that out of the witch he could asked about magic he came to her. like there more powerful witches he could of asked who have better understanding of it however he asked her. Why? Well to be fair she might not want to know because Ber is a strange odd guy.
