IMANI
GENERAL
Age: Twenty-eight
Birth Season: Fall
Occupation: Parabolti
Kingdom: Coheed
Citizen Status: Woman
PHYSICAL
Weight: 149lbs
Body Description: Imani is a beautiful woman with medium dark skin and 3B curls. It reaches the lower part of her shoulder blades, but sometimes during the warmer Aestas she cuts it short, and allows it to grow again over the next seasons. She is curvy, which makes her attractive to men that associate this kind of body-type with being a good mother. She has full lips, big eyes and freckles on her cheeks and nose. These freckles really make her stand out from the crowd. Her body is also very toned, but still feminine. She's a warrior and trains a lot, which means she tries to keep her weight and muscle mass regulated.
PERSONAL
Aspirations/Ambitions: Imani has a few aspirations.
One of them is showing the capability of women. This one of the reasons she joined the Parabolti. Even when she was a little kid, she had shown interest in the whole warrior cultus, and what the men were capable of doing. Although she was happy being a woman, she sometimes wished she had the privileges that came along with being a man. This only grew when she learned that Cambria consisted of only women.
Another aspiration of hers is being a good mother. This is the biggest cause for her internal conflict. The traditions that she had been spoonfed have a big impact on her, and she isn't able to shake the responsibility of taking care of children. She wants children, and she wants to take care of them, but she also wants to achieve personal greatness as a warrior of the Parabolti.
Her third aspiration is honour. Even though it is said that women have no honour, she begs to differ. Honour to her consists of owning up to your mistakes, making and standing behind your decisions and giving 'projects'/ideas your all. This also conflicts with the traditions somehow. She was taught to be silent and listen to what men wanted, but on the other hand, ever since women were allowed to fight, she had come to realise that the differences in what the sexes could do were merely based on the fact whether a person has a uterus or not.
This all comes together in the idea of give the uterus a voice. She doesn't strive for equality like feminists nowadays do, but she wants to have at least some say, especially in cases involving women. She wishes the men would see women warriors more as equals, and considers it important to be a united front.
Alignment: Chaotic good
Reputation: A well calculated troublemaker. It goes without saying that she's not really a 'troublemaker' in the true sense of the word. If that were the case, she would probably not be alive anymore. She is a troublemaker in the sense that she challenges the traditions of Coheed, by having been single for seven years now, and by joining the Parabolti.
Imani has a sharp tongue, and it's best not to mess with her, but she also knows when to hold her tongue. She won't allow people to walk over her, not even men, but she treads carefully when it comes to the latter. She knows she has to be careful if she's going to disobey a man.
Apart from that, Imani is known to be a beautiful woman. A lot of men think she's attractive, and there have been conversations with her father about another marriage, but Imani always finds a way out of them. She's also known to be a good mother, but people have their doubts about it now that she has joined the Parabolti. Most men think it's impossible to be a good mother if you're also training to be a female warrior. Imani has made it her goal to prove them wrong. Hypothetically/symbolically speaking, she could fight a war with a baby straddling her hip.
Combat Experience: As a child, Imani used to watch her brothers train with her father. She was never allowed to participate, but she did learn the basics and some theoretical knowledge from watching them.
As she grew older and married Rahil, her husband acknowledged her thirst for combat knowledge and trained her a bit, but not too excessively. She would train with maces and axes.
After the establishment of the Parabolti, Imani joined the women and began training more excessively, also with axes and maces.
MAGIC
The enhanced speed looks like being a pinch faster than any other individual not of this kingdom. They do not possess super speed, mind you, but they will be the first in a running race and the first to snatch the last cookie from the jar. When faced with another citizen of Coheed who also has enhanced speed, a roll of the dice is required to determine who was quicker in that instance. In respect to this magical enhancement, in any combative engagement with a citizen of Coheed, especially a warrior, it is to be assumed that the citizen of Coheed has the edge on speed.
SIGHT
The enhanced sight looks like better-than-perfect vision with a the ability to clearly see things as far as a mile away when intentionally narrowing the gaze.

Tale:
Rakeem and Soraya got married in 800, and that same year, Imani was born. Due to traditions and gender-related ideas, they weren't too happy when their first child turned out to be a girl. They had hoped to start off strong with a son, and not even a year later their wish was granted when Shiloh was born. Their two first kids were born merely ten months apart, making them so called 'Irish twins'. Because of this, Imani was treated well by her parents. They were happy they had a boy so soon after their daughter, and considered the fact that they had both a girl and a boy so soon into their marriage a blessing.
In 802, her father got married to his second wife, Mizett. They had a boy, Tario, the year they got married. Around this time, her father gained the aspiration to have 25 sons, to become a Chief himself. This is a goal he still working towards. By 828, he had 12 sons, and 4 daughters.
Their family worked like a traditional one in Coheed: Imani's mother took care of the children while her father was training and doing his job. Once Shiloh was old enough to train, his father would start building him up to become a warrior. Imani would watch the training sessions. This way she picked up some theoretical knowledge, but she wasn't allowed to participate in the training.
In 815, Rakeem married Ida, his third wife. They would soon have their first son as well, a boy named Karver. It seemed like Rakeem's genes were doing well, and he would be getting more and more boys over the years.
When Imani was 13, she got her first blood. From now on, she was considered mature and a woman. Her parents started looking for a husband for her, but wouldn't find one until she was 15. Then, she got married to Rahil. Rahil was also a warrior, and his father was a Chief. She was married into a wealthy and powerful tribe, and was expected to give him many sons, something she had been prepared for all her life. By the time she was 16, she had her first child. Isiah was a healthy little boy, and her husband was happy that they had started off their lineage of children with a son. Imani struggled a bit with conceiving another child. Her husband married a second woman named Valou, who gave him a second son, to continue his lineage of offspring. Two years later, her daughter Aiza was born.
But that same year, in 819, Rahil died during the battle against Lorendale. It was unexpected, because he had been a great warrior, and Valou and Imani were left behind without a husband. They returned to their parents, who were now responsible for them again. Rakeem wasn't too happy about the return of his daughter. He tried to get her married to another man, but couldn't find a suitable candidate. Imani was too busy taking care of her newborn daughter to be able to give another man children already.
By the time Imani was 21, and her children were 4 and 2, things changed around Coheed. The kingdom had become part of Nevermere after Kaalim Cyrilson had formed Gilead (before that, she belonged to the Bantu Siri tribe). Women were given a little bit more influence, and the Parabolti came into existence. This caused an identity crisis for Imani, and impacted her outlook on life. She had been surrounded with training brothers all her life, and her now deceased husband Rahul had taught her how to fight a bit while he was alive as well. He had been a good husband to her, and had acknowledged her interest in combat and weapons. She was one of the first to participate in the First Blood as a woman. Imani managed to draw blood first, meaning she was grouped into the Parabolti. Her parents weren't happy about this. They were very traditional and wanted her to get married again. But joining the Parabolti had an influence on how coveted she was. It was difficult to imagine a mother who was also a warrior.
Imani remained single for 7 more years. By the time it was 828, Imani still hadn't remarried, and juggled her time between taking care of Isiah and Aiza and the Parabolti. She still struggles with her identity a bit. On one hand, she wants to be a great warrior, like she knows women can be. The Cambrians did it as well. But on the other hand, the tradition of being 'cattle' and birthing children was rooted deep within her.
