The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Zarha was training away in the wing, she knew Aldrich wanted her to make friends, when it not mandatory training for her to go out get a drink with people, play cards in the barracks, or even just talk to them. However she tried to do a bit of talking however everytime she even stepped clossed to people in the barracks people move away. Maybe something the matter with her. She tries to be friendly however, it hard when it feel sometimes that only you are trying.
So she was in the wing sword in hand swinging at her target. Piece of mind. trying to clear her mind, she thankfully passed her assessment but there will always be more to come and with everything that going on she need to be on the ball.

Aldrich was on his way from the messhall to the offices and happened to pass by the training courtyard. He saw Zarha and wasn't surprised in the slightest that she was training again. He stopped walking and looked at her and the dummy for a few minutes.
Then he walked into the courtyard and came to a stop again, this time closer to her. "I have five minutes before I have to be at my office. What about a quick spar?"

When she heard Abbott's voice she should have known. She looked at him with the look of I am trying. She is trying but whenever she approaches another soldier so far they have turned her aside what else can one do? She can't force them to be her friend. "Sure, at least you fight back." Give a nod.
At least she know it a challenge but at least she will learn from it. She filled the weight in her sword. "Swords or hands Sir?"

Aldrich shrugged. He wasn't really feeling like himself today and didn't have the energy to be a hardass. He just wanted to spar for a moment to get his energy levels up. "Your choice."

your choice? Something was up, however, she was a private, so she know she was in no position to ask questions. She thought for a bit and she went to put her sword away, making sure that the sword was put away properly. Stretching her arms, she just hope that her being smaller then him have an advantage here. She went in closing the gap and take a uppercut towards his jaw.

Fists it was. A nice change of pace. He had been training with swords a lot lately. He nodded at Zarha when she put her sword away and got into position.
He held his hands up in front of him, in fists, and lightly jumped back and forth a bit to get the blood flowing. He twisted his body to the side a bit and brought his elbow in to block the uppercut. Her first would come into contact with his elbow. Then, while her arm was still stretched out, he would aim for the ribs under her stretched out arm.

Zarha was slightly happy the Abbott was up for some hand-to-hand combat. To be fair she would be up for hand-to-hand combat with Ber and that is Ber. She doesn't understand how it is so easy for him to make friends. He so opinionated, maybe she doesn't share any of her opinions but train. All anybody see in her is a girl who train and to be fair she still figuring who that person is.
However as she was thinking that Abbott managed to get a punch on the rib on the side. Zarha let out of small grunt of pain from the punch, it didn't stop her, she couldn't stop fighting from once punch. A smile on her face though as she went in going in for a kick as she grabbed his arm and she tries to pull him towards her as she missed his leg but then she hooked her leg round and with her heal tries to kick him in the back on the knee joint.

Her move probably would have worked if he wasn't almost 20 centimetres taller than him, and if he suddenly lost 26 kilograms. It wasn't too difficult for him to withstand the attack, even though she was able to grab his arm and hook her leg behind his.
So he used his free hand to push down on her shoulder the furthest away from her. With her leg hooked behind his, she would be a bit unbalanced, and there was a high probability that he would be able to push her down with just that one powerful push.

Abbott managed to push her down, as she went down she tries to hold onto his arm to pull him down with her. What is this man's weak spot? she doesn't want to do the quick where and kick him in his manhood cause that would be an easy move. If she didn't pull him down with her she would stand up again and go for more defensive action.

He didn't fall all the way down, but he did lose his balance for a moment, causing him to trip a bit. He found his balance again by the time Zarha had gotten up. "These techniques you're doing don't work when your opponent is bigger", he said, looking at her. "You can't drag them down or trip them, so focus on getting your timing right. Be unpredictable."
By the time Ber stumbled upon the lieutenant and the private on his way back from the mess hall, the other two were already mid-spar. The activity drew his gaze more than any particular interest in either Sliva or Abbott, though the lack of immediate clarity with regards to who he wanted to win did have him pausing in his stride. Ber certainly would have no qualms about punching either of them. Perhaps there didn’t need to be any victors. Perhaps he could just find some small entertainment in watching two people he didn’t like beat each other up, and maybe, he thought as he leaned casually against the wall, within view but far enough away from them that he thought he could escape notice, he could spare a few moments toward that endeavor.

Zarha groan softly when Abbott didn't fall. When he gave her advice it was kind of hard when the person you are fighting again know all your moves. So being unpredictable is kind of a hard thing to do, the only thing that would be unpredictable would be to use magic on him but she wasn't going to risk doing that on him.
Not really noticing that Ber was watching as she was paying attention to Abbott. She would try with a cross punchs.

There were plenty of other unpredictable options before going for the groin. You could still be unpredictable if you used moves that were known to a fellow soldier. Just a series of attacks could catch someone off guard, or a feint would do wonders.
Aldrich dodged the punches and took a big step forward while swinging his fist to punch her in the gut. By suddenly closing the distance between you and an opponent, it would make it difficult for the opponent to use their arms effectively.

When Abbott swing towards her gut, a groan escaped her lips. Come on Zarha, what is up with you today? She was starting to feel all these hits, but she can't quit. She grabbed his arm and try and get it behind him. Pushing it upwards, if it works it would be harder for him to move.

Zarha managed to grab his arm and get it behind his back, but didn't actually do anything else, which made it very easy for Aldrich to just kick his leg back against her shin, hoping that it would be enough so that she would let go of his arm. If she let go, he would take a few steps back.
