The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Drystan had brought back multiple gifts for several members of the family. Could be seen as gifts of appreciation or just because he felt like it, but he'd returned from Lorendale. Their former home where there were certain pleasures and vices that they could all indulge in at their whims with ease. The unfortunate downside to Dresmond was that they were rather removed from the finer things in life.
In the case of Adeline, he returned with several books from an author he'd remembered her being rather fond of. The first two books of one series and two other solo books that had been recommended as well. Cradled carefully, Drystan knocked on Adeline's door.
She hadn't really expected to be bothered in her room the rest of the night and was lounging on her bed in nothing more than her dressing robe when the knock came at her door.
Dropping the book she had been reading to her chest, she stared up at the ceiling for a beat before audibly groaning and rolling herself out of her bed. "Someone of importance better be dying for you to be knocking at my door," she called as she ripped it open. Seeing Drystan on the other side, the sour look on her face didn't lift until her gaze traveled down to the books he held in his hands, and then her eyebrow quirked.
