Reputation: Benedict, or Ben as he prefers to be called, is a man seemingly filled with confidence and charm. He makes friends easily, is known to be a skilled soldier and trusted royal guard, and is seemingly everything that a Delaney is expected to be. He is playful and full of laughter but is focused and responsible when on duty.

He is the kind of man to stand up for the little guy and doesn't tolerate bullying behavior. He is smooth with his words and can usually get what he wants. Some may call it manipulative but Ben just thinks of it as 'personable'. As long as it isn't hurting anyone then what's the harm?

Ben has mixed feelings on handling the pressure to be the man that people expect him to be. With the name of Delaney and the incredible reputation of his family and siblings, he feels the weight on his shoulders to make sure he doesn't let people down while at the same time he also recognizes that he is not the heir, being the fifth of six children, and sometimes takes liberties with that as he feels like he has a bit more leeway.

He has developed some small ticks over the years, most notably a compulsion to often do things in sequences of three such as checking three times to make sure a door is locked or even just subtle tapping of his fingers three times in a row. This comes out more prominently in times when he is feeling particularly emotional, whether that be a positive or negative emotion in the moment.

He is a doting father who loves each of his children deeply. He cares a lot. Perhaps too much some would say.

Combat Experience: Being raised in the Delaney family, Benedict was involved in combative settings far earlier than when his mandatory training started. He showed great interest in carrying on the family legacy and always enjoyed the competitive setting of always trying to do better than others or even better than himself the time before. He often trained and combatively played alongside his siblings, cousins, and his uncle Logan. He jumped into his mandatory training with a sense of eagerness and excelled incredibly in his training. With great expectations on his shoulders because of his family name, he met those expectations and more. He joined the military as soon as his training was completed and was part of the battle in Cambria against Coheed. It was shortly after the battle that he was promoted as a royal guard, taking the place of his father in the same position.

Tale:
Born into the influential Delaney family, Benedict was born as the 5th out of 6 children along with his slightly older identical twin brother. As a child he often bounced back and forth between being eager to please while searching for praise from his parents and being rebellious either to try and get attention or just because he wanted to test the limits of what he could get away with it. Never one to be the bully, he often stood up for those who were being picked on, even if it meant getting beat on himself though that quickly stopped when even as a child he started training combatively with other members of his family teaching him the craft.

Like most identical twins, he was very close with his twin growing up. His twin loved to play the 'older brother' card even though they were only a few minutes apart. Ben always replied that at least he got to have all the fun since less was expected of him. The boys loved to play the 'switching places' game just to see how long it would take people to notice. They got so good at it that they got caught less and less over the years.

He was eager to enter his mandatory military training and went out of his way to make friends with those in high places. He was a favorite student of his instructors and trainers and worked hard to stand out from the crowd, trying not to simply ride on the tailcoats of his older siblings while also enjoying letting loose and partying with his fellow soldiers in training.

After participating in the battle in Cambria Cassian invited him to take the place of his father as a royal guard, having shown incredible skill and dedication as a soldier.

He fell in love with Ravin Tracey and the two had a long and complicated relationship. He married Ellison Morrigan, now Delaney, and the of them adopted Hollie and Otto when their mother (a dove at the Midnight House) died. They later had a daughter who they named Sarilla.
