The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
For a well Val have been wanting to spend some time with her new in-laws as she wanted to make sure that she makes an effort. She cares about Keir's family as she loves them all. She have reached out to Benedict to see if he and Ellison for a meet up and knowing that they have three children of their own be a nice little focus point to talk about. Plus it give her a good reason to get out the house when Keir is at work.
Once ready she got into the carriage and headed to the estate. She was wearing a loose dress cause she can't really wear fitted dresses anymore but it was still sporting the nevermere colours but it was more formal then anything else. As they was on there were she was talking to the little life in her. "So these will be your cousins, and your Aunt and Uncle. Ben has a twin called Fred, you will love them. You will love all of them really. Just remember you are strong and amazing. Daddy and Mummy love you soo much and will always be here for you." She know she can't promise that but she know she can always try.
As they pulled up she looked out the window and smiled as she climbed towards the home of her in-laws. Knocking on the door and be waited to be let in.

Between their three children and still very active careers, Ben and Ellison had had little time for many social calls for quite a while. They had been at the wedding of course, Ben wouldn't miss the marriage of his oldest brother, but beyond that they had only seen Keir's new wife during occasional gatherings of either the family or Nevermeren events. It was certainly a relationship that was surface level.
At the knock at the door Ben had been trying to convince Otto that he needed to eat the carrots that were on his plate. Fred, who visited quite regularly these days, came down the stairs where he'd been helping Ellison with something. Fred, unlike Ben and Ellison, had seen Valeria plenty of times. He had more freedom after all and he found her to be delightfully sweet, like buttercream frosting on top of cake.
A servant answered the door and escorted Valeria inside. "Val!" Fred said with a delighted grin. "You didn't tell me she was coming to visit this afternoon, Ben," he chided his twin. Ben gave his brother an apologetic smile. The truth was that he'd entirely forgotten. Fred bounded over to their guest and wrapped her up in a warm hug.

When a servant showed Val inside she thanked her as she always do. When she noticed Fred a wider smile of her face came on her face. "What a lovely surprise Fred." She smiled as she returned the hug, "How are you doing?" She always enjoyed the time she spent with Fred and the smile and good laugh they shared.
"I wouldn't worry about it." She looked towards Ben and smiled at him. "I hope this isn't a bad time Ben?" She asked, Valeria wouldn't want to impose and know with military duty and she can only picture with three kids to look after it can be kinda busy.

"Couldn't be better," Fred said with a broad grin. It wasn't entirely true. He'd been rather distraught since Rosa had disappeared and felt at a loss for what he could do about it. He spent much of his days distracting himself so that he wouldn't be pulled down into the depression that threatened to take over. She was, after all, another man's wife.
"Not at all," Ben replied graciously. "We were expecting you." Just because it had escaped his mind didn't mean that she wasn't expected after all. "Come in, make yourself comfortable. Ellison should be down in a few moments," he said glance briefly at his twin, "and dinner should be ready soon as well."
Hollie came into the room carrying 3-year-old Sarilla in her arms, the girl clearly very heavy for her. Sarilla was sniffing and had tear stains on her cheeks. Ben's attention immediately turned to his girls. "What happened?" he asked, moving to take Rilly from her older sister before the weight became too much for Hollie. "She fell down and bumped her head," Hollie replied, looking worried for her little sister, even though they weren't related by blood. Ben let his hand slip through Hollie's silky hair, giving her an encouraging smile before he turned his attention to his youngest.
"Uh oh, did we fall down?" he asked sweetly. Rilly sniffed again with a little nod and buried her head in Ben's shoulder, wrapping her little arms around his neck.

Valeria give a soft smile to Fred. "I am happy to hear that Fred." Hoping he knows that he could always talk to her before she turned her eyes towards Ben. As he looked towards Fred she looked towards him. Looking towards the stairs in which Fred came down she raised her eyebrows slightly. She wasn't going to ask any questions, what they three get up to, that up to them. However, it did raise a lot of questions for her. However now is not the time.
"Just spending time with family enough for me." Smiling as she sees Hollie carrying Ben's youngest in her arm, clearly upset a part of her already want to run over and check she okay. Maybe it is the motherly hormones in her but she stood back as she let Ben go over to her. It melt her heart a bit seeing Sarilla in ben's arm.
She walked over to Hollie her eyes was soft seeing the worry in the young girl's eye. "You are a great sister. Rilly will be okay."

Hollie looked up at the other woman, having met her only a couple of times as the children were often left home for certain gatherings. She gave Valeria a bit of a shy smile and a nod before she moved over to her younger brother, this one was by blood, and took his hand. "Let's go get washed up for supper," she told him, looking a bit wearily over her shoulder back at Valeria as the two of them left the room.
Rilly recovered quickly and rested her tear stained against Ben's shoulder as Ellison came downstairs with a smile at Valeria's direction. "Right on time," she said to the woman as she embraced her in greeting. "I'm pretty sure you've never been late to anything." Ellison, clearly, had not forgotten that they were expecting the woman for dinner. "Could Keir not join us or is he coming later?" she asked, hoping that Ben's brother might also join them.

Seeing the kid being a bit weary of hers.Val gives a soft smile as she stands up. Maybe she should try and make more of an effort to try and visit them especially when the baby is born she doesn't want the family to be strangers. However, she doesn't let it affect her.
However, her attention focused on Ellison as she walked down the stairs. Giving her a hug back and laughed, "Well growing up being the daughter of the commander, you do get into a habit." Smiling softly, even though she not a military girl anymore she have the military head. "Keir would try if he could but with the router the commander put in after the event of the ball, who knows." She just hope that Keir has a chance to be there when his child being born.

Ben snagged Fred's elbow and tugged him a bit as the two men, with Rilly still in Ben's arms made their way towards the dining room. Ellison smiled at Valeria's compliment and returned it. "Me? Look at you? You are quite literally glowing," she said looking from Valeria's face to her belly and back. "How are you feeling? Are you excited?" she asked as she led the way to the dining room and sat down at the table, motioning for Valeria to sit beside her, between herself and Fred.

Valeria smiled as she looked down at her belly. She was so happy, she never thought that she would find somebody who love her as much as Keir loves her and who willing to start a life wth her. to start their little family. "Let's just say we are both beautiful and amazing, above all we are super lucky." They have people who care about them in their lives.
She laughed softly as she followed everyone in the dinning room and sits down between Ellison and Fred. "I am nervous, but I am over the moon to meet this one. Me and Keir got a name picked out for a girl, but have had a few names for a boy." Smiling softly. "Any helpful advice for a mother-to-be?"

Ben smiled to see Valeria so happy and to know that Keir would soon be welcoming a child into the world. He had never imagined himself as a father yet children had been a blessing to him that he hadn't expected. He settled Rilly into a seat beside him. Next to her was Hollie and then Otto next to Fred. The little boy was going on about the sword he'd been practicing with as if it were a mighty weapon when it was simply a toy made out of wood. Fred spoke loving and encouraging words in spite of knowing this.
"Oh do share!" Ellison said in regards to the names. She knew that plenty of people liked to keep it a secret but she couldn't help but ask if Valeria was willing to tell her.

Val couldn't help but laugh when Ellison asked her for the name, she guess she put herself in that situation. She looked around with a cheeky grin on her thinking of keeping it a secret from her, "Well, I am surprised Fred hasn't told you." Giving a mischievous wink towards Wink.
Then she laughed, "Okay I tell you. For a girl, Ora, after my mother. Farron or Idris for a boy mostly because they sound pretty."
Post by Benedict Delaney on Jun 7, 2023 12:43:03 GMT -5
Ellison grinned. "Oh those are lovely names, Valeria, truly," she said kindly. Ben smiled too. "Farron Delaney. Idris Delaney," he tested them out on his tongue to see which sounded better with their surname. "I like both," he said, "hard to choose."
It was then that a couple of servants entered the room with bowls filled with a beef and vegetable pot pie and fresh loaves of bread, which they set down in front of everyone at the table before departing again.
Fred poured himself a glass of wine from a bottle at the table and offered some to Valeria. "Shall I fill your glass?" he asked her. The children all picked at their food quietly while occasionally whispering and giggling to one another.

Valeria smiled as she placed a hand on her necklace that she hardly takes it off, even during the pregnancy mostly as a reminder to stay strong and that she can do this. "My mum means a lot to me and my father, so if it is a girl it is a nice way to carry on her name." She take a breath. She did think about calling if it a boy Logan knowing Keir cared for his uncle however, Hadrian guided her best not to. He was right. Val doesn't always like when he is right but she does wants the best chance for her child.
She turned to Ben when he repeated the boys name. "That's why it's hard to pick. If me and Keir are blessed with more then they are always options for us." Valeria will possible take time to enjoy the time with her firstborn before her and Keir even think about having another. Like even know they both looked forward to start a family she think she enjoy being intermit with him and how he made her feel. It was truly passion-driven.

Fred raised his glass of wine in the air with a smile. "May you be blessed with as many children as you desire," he said. Ben opened his mouth to say something in the realm of 'and have fun while doing it,' but with a knowing look at Ellison the two only smiled at one another as they too toasted to Valeria, Keir, and their little family.

There was a blush on Valeria's face thinking about having more children with Keir, they did enjoy the activity that brings children. They haven't really talked about having more children after the birth of this one. If it happens then it happens but it is possibly something that they will talk about at some point. However, there is no rush about having such a conversation as she is in no rush about being pregnant again so soon after this one is born. Once this one is born she is going to cherish the moment she has and enjoy learning the subject that is parent hood.
"Cheers." Valeria smiled at the toast.
"Any tips on raising a family? I think i got all the basics. However, when this little one arrives I want to make sure, i know what to expect."
