The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

for @berengar
Her parents have been sentence, the party been well a lot of emotion that night. She started to feel like something was bubbling up inside of her and she doesn't know what to do with it. She doesn't really know who she can talk to about all these emotions cause every times she tries to talk to people and get close to people. Stuff happens. She was currently with a dummy punching it like mad.
She punched to hard and it came back and she had to dodge it a bit. "Fuck." She shock her hand slightly. She really need a good distraction right now.
Despite his personal feelings regarding Sliva, Ber considered it inevitable that they would cross paths in the military wing. After all, at any given time, there were only so many places to be and only so many people who could occupy them. He considered that reality with the same resignation with which he accepted many other unfortunate circumstances of life: since he couldn’t change it, the best he could do was learn to live with it and move on.
So, when he entered the courtyard with the intention of beating up a training dummy and found that the only open space was beside the witch in question – because of course it was – he let out a quiet sigh and claimed it for himself. Setting his canteen down beside him, he began to stretch.

Zarha knew that Ber doesn't like him and it has just gotten to the part where she has to accept that they will never get along. No matter what she says or does Ber will possibly will always have a dislike for her. It got to the part where she gotten to the point where she was numb to everything.
So when Ber came in. She looked towards him and an idea came to her. "Stormcrest, I really need somebody to punch me in the face." It was her way of her inviting him to spar she enjoy sparing and Ber might enjoy punching her.
When Sliva approached and announced that she needed someone to punch her in the face, Ber paused in stretching out his shoulder and looked at her, eyebrows raised. “What?” He’d heard many strange things during his time as a soldier - or even as a human being, existing in life - but he couldn’t recall the last time someone had told him that they needed to be punched in the face.
Usually, people did their best to avoid that rather unpleasant experience.

Zarha just give him a look that possibly says a thousand words, to bad she doesn't know the right words to speak them verbally. "please don't make me repeat myself." She just wants to feel something and getting punched might be the only way she can possibly feel something. Plus in her mind what will the next time Ber will have a chance to punch her in the face? Since the party she been zoned out, not evening the idea of seeing more of terra nova, going on a mission. Being selected to go on a task with a group of people. It doesn't excite her yet she knows it should as it will be her first time out of Nevermere. Maybe the verdict of her parents on her shoulders, the stress of raising four people all on her own weighing upon her.
As she plead with him to not make her repeat herself, Ber stared at her for a moment longer. It wasn’t that he hadn’t understood her request but rather that when people told him to punch them in the face, it was usually only heavily implied. Lowering his arm from where he’d had held it across his chest to stretch his shoulder, he cast a glance around the courtyard, vaguely suspicious of some sort of of trap. But no officers lingered on the fringes.
Eyes narrowed slightly, he turned his attention back toward Sliva. “So you want me to punch you in the face,” He repeated for her, casually moving to stand in front of the witch. Only after her confirmation came, verbal or non-verbal, would he nod in turn. “Fine.”
Then, immediately, before she would have any time to mount a defense, he curled his fingers into a fist, pulled back his hand, and did exactly as she requested.

Didn't she just say to not expect her to repeat herself? So she put her hands of her hips and just look at him. She didn't move nor flinch as the fist of Ber came to her face, even though she prepared herself she was still slightly knocked of balance slightly. That felt good, no wonder people think he is a good soldier.
She rubbed her cheek slightly. "Thanks, I.. keep them coming." this time she got to a defensive stance.
With the weight that Ber had put behind the punch and the solid blow he had landed due to his proximity, Sliva was knocked more than slightly off balance, but still rather perplexed by the entire affair, he had chosen to let her recover rather than follow it up with more. He regretted it.
Sliva’s reaction to the hit had his eyes narrowing slightly as she readied herself for another hit. Who thanked someone for hitting them? There was a pause in which Ber took a step back before bursting into motion again. He feinted another hit to her face before moving to sweep her legs out from under her with his own.

When Ber went in for another swing when he was hitting her she take a soft breath, taking it all in and then she felt to the floor landing on the side a soft groan escapes her. She needed this, she had to have somebody do this for her and she was happy that Ber wasn't holding back on her. She worried if she asked another soldier they would of held back. "Is that all you got?"
Compared to someone on their feet, people on the ground like Sliva would be far less mobile, particularly when their opponent was a person like Ber, who expected retaliation. He sidestepped and dodged the elbow, then stepped back again out of reach, staring down at Sliva on the ground.
She had practically begged him to punch her, which he did. Then she’d thanked him for it and requested that he continue punching her. He knocked her down instead. Still, she asked for more by attempting to goad him into a fight.
Something was going on here. He didn’t understand what, but with her weird behavior, Sliva was clearly trying to get him involved with it without actually telling him. “Yes,” Ber said shortly, feeling the lead dangling around his neck and refusing to take the bait. “It is.”

When he said it is. Zarha looked up at him with a confused look on her face. She thought out of everyone Ber would be one of the people who want to punch her. "why? I thought you would enjoy punching me?" She groaned standing up. placing a hand on her side. She wasn't trying to trap him into anything, she just needed this.
He watched Sliva climb to her feet, apparently and inexplicably mystified as to Ber’s reservations about this entire affair. It wasn’t that he hadn’t found it satisfying to knock her down - he had - but rather… “No one thanks someone for punching them in the face and then asks for more.” The words came out blunt. “What’s going on?”

There a small laugh that escaped her lips when Ber spoke. Rubbing the back of her neck as she looked at him. "Truthfully I am not normal." There isn't a reason, nothing going on. Well not that she can talk to him about. Even if she wanted to. Zahra is feels that ber won't care. So she saving her breath.
For a long moment, Ber looked at Sliva as she told him that she wasn’t normal as if it it was some sort of revelation. “I could’ve told you that,” He stated bluntly, unimpressed. “That doesn’t answer my question.”

Not knowing what Ber want her to say, she just throw her hands in the air. "No matter want I say Stormcrest, I doubt you be content with it. There is nothing going on. No reason why I want to be hit in the face." Her eyes were firm as she looked towards Ber.
