[ For Aldrich Abbott, including Vesper Delvaux | Takes place the day after There's a Storm a'Coming ]
Warren gave both himself and Abbott the remainder of the day to consider everything said when they were summoned to Captain Commander Hadrian Usher's office. While Aldrich had gotten off with a warning, and rightfully so, Warren had been placed on probation. Meaning his every move was going to be watched, and apparently by the new instated Inquisitor General. That he would be shadowed until his departure for Cambria meant little to him. He had no intention of making the same mistake twice, nor had he made the first one intentionally. While he still believed the Commander's position to be a little nonsensical, and counter-productive to the training of their soldiers, ultimately his feelings on the matter were moot. The Commander's word was law.
The following morning he summoned Abbott to his office. He had been meaning to have this discussion with the lieutenant, and while he would have preferred to do so outside of his office, it was better to keep the setting formal for the sake of his new babysitter. When Aldrich arrived, he would find the office door open and Warren would usher the man in, standing to shake his hand as he always did.
One other thing had changed, of course. His relationship with Regan had become..different since the night of Othello's party. Her admission that she'd slept with Aldrich made him personally like the man even less, no matter how he tried to keep it from happening. Something about the whole situation rubbed him the wrong way, and maybe it was as simple as jealousy, but regardless he wouldn't allow it to get in the way of his work. There was too much to do. "Lieutenant Abbott, we have a lot to talk about today," he said as the two sat down in their respective seats. If Vesper was in the office, Warren paid her no attention. He assumed that was what was expected, so he would go about his business as usual.
