The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

for @faylin
This is the first time she was on boat, and the sun has set however, as most soldiers were relaxing before they crash for the night playing cards, talking about what they might see in coheed. Zarha was standing by the ships edge. Leaning against the edge. She was looking at the horizon of sea. Sea for as far as she can see. Her mind not even though first time on assignments of the adventure in front of her. As most of the joyous sounds might confuse one to think. However, more about how she can help influence these women's life.
She know all too well if any man told her sisters that they can't be who she want to be because she a woman, she would drag her sister far away from that man as possible because in her head. Her sisters deserve everything on a gold plate. She knows they are commoners so it harder for them but when it come to be treated right it the least they can do. Being treated right shouldn't be just for those who can afford it.
She was looked down at the bracelet her sister brought with the neighbor before she left for 'luck.'
Faylin had found rather quickly that sleep was not easily found on the rocking ship in the sea. She had never been on one of the boats before, and she'd be happy to never be on one again. The first couple days it had been all she could do to not retch over the side, but that, at least, had faded.
It was still early in the night, enough to where she knew there was no point in trying to sleep. Instead, she wandered the ship, doing her best to not stagger when it rocked over a particularly tall wave. She smiled and offered pleasantries to any of the soldiers who looked her way, sometimes stopping to sit and chat with them, wanting to learn all she could of those under her charge.
As she continued making her way through the ship, she came across a solitary soldier standing by the edge of the ship. As she drew closer, she recognized the woman from the meeting she had called. Stepping up quietly next to her, Faylin carefully rested her arms on the side of the ship. "Have you ever been on a ship before?" she asked.

Dazing at the bracelet that Liliac brought her. She just wishes that all of her siblings are safe and safe and happy, she knows she left them during a hard time in their life. However, orders are orders and no matter what going on in her personal life she has to follow what has been asked of her. As she looked at the bracelet she has drown the noise of her other soldiers. Feeling the wave sawing the boat.
When Faylin stood next to her and asked a question, she couldn't help but stand to attention. Her face was straight "Yes it is Sergent, it's my first time out of Nevermere." She barley talked to the other soldiers on the boat unless it was needed and even though it was her first time out of Nevermere, there was no wonder in her eyes. This was her job at the end of the day.

Faylin turned and studied Zarha as the girl immediately snapped to attention. It was something she wasn't quite used to yet. It felt like just yesterday they had received their promotion, and now they were in the middle of the sea on their way to a different kingdom.
Her eyes traveled up to Zarha's face where they hovered for a moment before she turned back to the watery horizon. "At ease, soldier," she murmured, leaning against the side of the ship once more. "This is also my first time at sea, though I have been outside of Nevermere once before."
Her time in Cambria hadn't left her with many happy memories. The only one, in fact, was the night she had finally relented to her feelings towards Kasper. A small smile tipped up the corners of her mouth, but only briefly before her attention was back on Zarha. "Are you nervous about your new post?" she asked, thought she was certain she already knew the answer to her question.

When Faylin told her to stand at ease she relaxed a bit. However, she was still talking to a person of ranked and so she couldn't fully be at ease, plus to be honest with herself. The only time she was at ease was when she was sleeping. She watched at Faylin leaned against the ship "It hard to see the sea to be as big as it is from where we are." She knew she couldn't really ask where she was last station as sometimes even that can be confidential
When she was asked if she was nervous about her new post. "I haven't really thought about it. I am just honoured that I can serve my country and help where I can more then anything." She can't really let emotions get in the way of things, emotions just clouds judgement.
Faylin was quiet for a bit, the only sound the water slapping against the side of the ship as it was propelled forward. There was something peaceful about being out here, away from the crowds of the city, even if it did make her stomach queasy.
"Tell me about yourself, Zarha." She would try to learn what she could of those under her command, so that she knew what to expect from them.

There was a confused look on Zarha's face when Faylin asked her to tell her about herself. Not this again, another ranked officer wants to get to know her. There isn't a lot to know about her. She wasn't in the military to make friends. She was there to do her job and nothing else. "There isn't really anything to know about me. Just turn nineteen, have four younger siblings and I am in the military. That's me. Nothing special." She know Warren and Abbott want her to show people that there more to her than training and work but there nothing of interest to see.
Faylin smiled sadly and huffed a quiet chuckle. "I'm reminded of my younger self, listening to you." Faylin shook her head a bit, but in a rare move, continued to poke further into Zarha's lack of details. "You said you have siblings. Are you close to any of them?"
She was briefly reminded of her own brother, whom she had only seen at a distance for many years now. It was inevitable that they crossed paths now and then, since they were both in the military, but both dutifully ignored the other. It was easier that way.

Zarha graciously accepted the compliment, her lips curving upwards into a small smile. She nodded in agreement as she replied, "I appreciate your kind words." Although she was open to exploring any opportunities that may arise from her resemblance to Faylin's younger self, she remained content with her current role as a soldier. Zarha held herself to the standard that she is a good soldier, and her top priority was always maintaining her physical and mental readiness to provide assistance wherever and whenever required. She took great pride in her work and was committed to being a valuable asset to the military.
When Faylin asked her about her sibling she stood thinking for a moment as she looked towards the sea. Seeing the endless view of water that surrounds them. What adventures are out there? Lands that haven't yet been found yet? Deals that can be made? Maybe one day she will have a chance to visit other lands, but it depends on what missions are needed of her.
"I guess I am as close to them as any sibling in the military can be I guess."
Faylin frowned but nodded, "It is true that we give the most of ourselves to Nevermere. But it is worth it, to serve such a great kingdom." Pushing away from side of the ship, she turned back to Zarha, "Still, see to it that you take some time for yourself as well. It may not seem like it now, but companionship is just as important to one's wellbeing as training."
She looked Zarha over once more before offering another small smile, "I think I will retire for the night. You should do the same so you are well rested once we arrive." She'd turn and head off into the ship if Zarha didn't stop her.

There was a soft laugh when she mentioned having companionship, she have managed this long without having friends, not like she hasn't tried to make friends. "You are not the first superior to say that to me. However, it is not that easy for me. I enjoy training, training in a way is time for myself." She has tried to make friends, she takes a look at the view soldiers who was still on top. They were people she work with, people she trained with. She knows that Aldrich Abbott and Warren Woodwick both want her to open up and trust people. "I found it hard to talk to people, interact with people outside of training, outside of the military situation. Why do you think when we eat I sit by myself?" It wasn't because she had to, it was because she doesn't know how to socialise.
there was a question in her head as Fraylin said about heading to sleep. "Sergeant Fraylin? What is it like being Sergeant?"
Pausing at Zarha's question, Faylin pondered for a moment on it before she answered. "Well, I have not been in the position very long, so right now it feels the same to me. I'm sure once we arrive in Coheed it will be much different. I'll have many more responsibilities... But at the end of the day I'm still just a soldier like you."
She dipped her head once in farewell, "Now, get some rest. You'll need it for the coming days," and then headed below deck herself.
