The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

(this thread is for @norah )
Noah had been a week into active duty and he was feeling pretty good, it was demanding but Noah didn't have a problem keeping up. He was enjoying the medical side of combat training learning a few new methods to his already expanded medical knowledge, however today was his day off and he was coming back from finishing the final process of closing his practice which hadn't been a easy decision because he had worked hard to get one. But a few years of military service and what he can learn meant opening it again would be more beneficial in the long run.
Still, it meant a surprise pop in at the Carter estate, he wanted to see his sister. It had been to long and he did miss her they had always been close, he was like her shadow forever. But was she in Cambria? It was all hit and miss but Noah did try they just always seemed to miss each other. He knocked, his heart in high hopes, they had a great deal to catch up on...

It seemed that Norah was going to be in for a bit of visits during her short trip at the beginning of Ver to Nevermere. She hadn't stayed long after losing Ravin, not any of her visits. There was no point too, for the one she had always tried to extend her visits for was simple not there. There was no warmth left in the estate that could offer her any comfort, and thus, she would return to Cambria shortly after she arrived.
But those who worked in the estate, only a handful, would have the heads up that she would be home. Which meant when Noah arrived, they informed him that while she was not there currently, she should be arriving any moment now and would welcome him into the estate. Offering him tea, snacks, anything that the Prowze brother could desire until the widow arrived officially.
Upon arrival, she'd be notified of her guest, and the smallest smile lifted her face. It had been so long since she had truly seen Noah. He'd see the same softness, even with the slight sunken in cheeks on her face. "Now this is a visit I hadn't been expecting."

Noah felt like a baby brother again, waiting on his favorite big sister to come home from studies Goddess weeping he missed those days. Returning to active duty had afforded his own changes mostly bruising the occasional cut but he was already growing use to it day by day.
When he heard her voice he had been browsing her books on the bookcase and his head snapped back one might of thought he was about to rush her expecting to almost fling himself into her arms like he would when he was smaller. He did go for a tight brotherly hug, "expect the unexpected Nor," he said muffled against her shoulder, she may not be able to pick him up and spin with him but the hug was just how Noah liked it, plus he wasn't little Noah anymore. Hair was longer and styled, his hands doubled hers like his Father's...
He stepped back putting both hands on her face and stroking her sunken cheeks, "I've missed you..."
Everything she had endured with their mother had been for her siblings. Even though the boys were safe from her, lacking the magical ability that she had honed in on, she had still done it all for them. Her sisters seemed to not like her because of the special attention... but if only they knew what that special attention had been, had turned into... had done even in the most recent years of her life when she thought she had escaped her.
But the way that Noah wrapped her tightly to him, she almost wished for a mere moment that he could crush her and make her dissipate into the air. Into nothing. Into the lack of nothingness that filled her lungs as he held her tightly. But the warmth of his hands took hold of her face and she realized that wouldn't be possible. Nor would she ever ask someone to do that for her... she couldn't. Because she knew what it was like to live with what she had done.
"I've missed having you around." She returned, barely able to hold his gaze before she was trying to move along. "How's military living been for you?"

Noah loved Norah more than he could ever describe or show, he knew of her sacrifices with their Mother and he wished he could show her every day how much he appreciated her for it. He held her face a few moments longer before letting go one hand fell to his his side while the other pushed his hair away from his face, "Well I'd love if we didn't have such long gaps in seeing each other, but you are a busy Ambassador I've heard," he gave a proud smile, "and service is going well they have a very strong combat medic program, and my surgical background has put me in a good position to train others, I just have to brush off Dads old skills with a sword," he joked, "I'll be fine of course...and you? You look tired."
A nod slowly was given in response, knowing that they had been having more and more time grow between their visits. Though she certainly hadn't been making an effort as of lately either. She hadn't made an effort to see anyone, rather she spent her usual returns to Nevermere doing exactly what she had said that they were for... collecting supplies before returning back.
"I wouldn't really be doing my job if I wasn't busy," she offered, though was glad that he had so easily shifted into jumping into his own life. "I am sure you are going to do just fine. You are a Prowze, have rather good training under your belt. I wouldn't expect anything less." She grinned.
Only for it to fall just a touch. 'You look tired'. She was. "That's not exactly what a lady likes to hear, Noah." she scolded him with a small smirk. "I think it's just been a long Heims... I'm ready for Ver." For warmer weather, for something that might make her feel something rather than the cold that seeped deeply into her chest. "You hungry?"

"I'm always hungry," he joked and then explained his comment, "No offense meant sister, you're still as beautiful as ever..plus I don't mean that physically," he still offered her a warm smile, it was probably best to steer away from it all together, "but yes warmer weather will be nice, The festival is around the corner will ya make it?"
