The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Zarha was on patrol on Coheed and it was odd. This is far from Nevermere, not just in terms of location, but in the sense of their life is different to home. She has a lot to learn about different culture. She been sticking to her routines, following the orders that was given. Knowing that she cannot have one foot out of place well she was here.
She however stopped for a moment as she takes her surrounding feeling the heat on her face, this was a new feeling for her. Knowing that her siblings want to hear about the sun and how warmer it is with no clouds in the sky. However, as she walked around she noticed one of the Coheed ladies. Let them trust us. "Lovely weather today." There was a soft smile on her face.
Imani had trained earlier that day, and was now on a walk with her kids. Isiah and Aiza were running around and acting goofy like they always did when the sun was out. They were wearing thin clothes, mostly fabric wraps, and the sun kissed their tan skin. Their mother walked behind them with a smile on her face. As much as she loved training, nothing beat being out and about with her kids. She loved both of them dearly and saw pieces of their father in them. She still missed him, but she was grateful for the help and the talk that Kaalim Cyrilson had given her a while ago. It was nice to know there were people out there that wanted to help.
Imani cane to a stop when she noticed some Nevermerean soldiers she hadn't seen before. A young girl spoke, and the mother looked at her. "Yes", she said, unsure as to why the soldier felt the need to point it out. The weather was like it usually was in Ver. She didn't realise that Nevermere didn't see the sun as often as they did. "I haven't seen you before. Are you one of the new soldiers?" Imani had heard that a new shipment of soldiers had set foot in Coheed. She didn't know why, but also didn't feel like asking Catrin or Kaalim. It didn't concern her too greatly currently.
Zarha couldn't help but smile seeing the children playing, thinking of her brother and sister back at home. However, she was at work and she know that they are being well looked after by her neighbour. Her skin was possibly a bit pink from the lack of exposure to the sun before being here in Coheed. However, after being here in Coheed for a bit you understand that some people are not a sad sack that is filled with clouds all day everyday. People have this thing called sun and heat.
Zarha noticed the partner she walking around and walked around a bit checking the area. He wasn't much taller than her around 5ft 11 which for her was tall, but since coming to Coheed she has a new idea of tall. The people here in Coheed are Tall. "We are, thank you for being so welcoming."
"You're welcome", Imani replied, gesturing at her children to come closer. She didn't want them running around. She didn't know these new Nevermerean soldiers enough to trust them. Once Isiah and Aiza were near, she smiled at them and patter Isiah on the head when he stood next to her with his sisters. Imani didn't know how to feel about the Nevermere presence in Coheed. It had definitely helped to break free from the tradition, but she still felt like they had lost a part of their identity to them. She didn't blame this particular woman for it, though.
"How are you liking Coheed?" she then asked kindly.
Zarha was of course understanding, we are these strange people on their homelands and they know very little about them. She herself only knows as much as Fraylin, Kasper and Kat informed her. She has picked up a few other things from previous soldiers who have patrolled here before. However, there is still a lot to learn about this place. If people came to Nevermere and started patrolling the lands she would be worried for her brothers and sisters.
"It's much warmer than Nevermere never experienced as much, well any sun in my life till here. It is a beautiful change to consent clouds and rain." Laughing softly. "I am enjoying the change of scene and learning new things. Anything you recommend to see or do?" Zarha was intrigued by different area's cultures and learning new things. How can she progress in life if she never learn new things.
She looked towards the girl and the boy giving them both a warm smile.
The woman asked her for recommendations, as if she was here for pleasure and not for business. It rubbed Imani the wrong way, but she didn't let it show. Instead she just smiled and brushed some hair out of her face. "Learn about our culture", she replied with a smile. There were no bad intentions behind her words. "And don't take your freedom for granted."
The silly girl probably didn't even realise how good she had it. She was a soldier, she didn't have to prove herself over and over again every day. Nevermere women were witches, they were important. Not like the women here. A lot of people still didn't like the fact that the women had started training, and that the Parabolti was a thing. She tried to guess how old the girl was, and knew she would already have given birth to Isiah back when she was the same age as Zahra. Yet this girl was free to do what she wished.
"I'm Imani", she then said. "These are my children, Isiah and Aiza."

She mostly asked for when she had a day off not when she was working of course. Plus she wants to learn about their culture but she doesn't really know the right question to ask. She always finds it hard to talk to people, but she is trying. She didn't intend to get on anybody bad leg. "Thank you I have so many questions about your culture I want to learn about it. Maybe one day, after training we can talk." She asked she knows that she one of the parabolti. Zarha knows she is better at being a soldier and training then she is at talking.
"Nice to meet you. my name is Zarha." She looked towards the other soldier who walking around but keeping an eye on Zarha.
Zarha took a soft breath "Imani, when I said asked about recommendations, it was my way of trying to learn your culture. my words often fails me, I am a better soldier then I am at words." There was a hint of apology in her words
Imani nodded. "Sure, I would like that", she said and smiled at the young girl. It was nice that the soldier was eager to learn about their culture. Imani had gotten pretty good at judging someone's character, and she sensed a good and noble heart in Zarha.
She laughed softly. "Don't worry, young one", she said and winked. Aiza tugged at her clothes and the mother looked at her daughter.
"Why does she look so different?" the girl whispered. Imani bent over and picked the girl up, balancing her on her hip while Isiah lost interest in the conversation and walked over to one of of the other soldiers to take a look at the sword the man had with him. She would keep an eye on him, but trusted that the soldier wouldn't harm her son.
"She's from somewhere else, Aiza. But what have I told you about talking about people when they're right there? You direct your questions to them, hmm?"

Zarha smile widen slightly when Imani said that she would like to talk about Coheed and let her learn about their culture. Her heart was brimming with excitement and gratitude. She expressed her gratitude, "Thank you so much! I have so many questions, and I am eager to learn everything." She chuckled softly, recognizing her eagerness. Zarha felt even though she was a soldier out here she was talking to someone who just taking a interest in her and it felt nice
Noticed that Isiah walked over to the male soldier who sitting by a rock. He reminded her of Raj her oldest brother, he could never stand still for too long. Her eyes drifted back to the young girl. She is not that young but she still has youthful questions and that she not afraid to ask question even if they might upset someone.
"What would you like to know Aiza? You can ask me anything." She asked Aiza. She was quite impressed that Imani managed to pick her up but then remember that the people here are so strong.
The woman's excitement was contagious, but Imani did have to remind herself that her duty wasn't to teach the soldiers about her culture. After all, Nevermere was in the more powerful position here. Coheed belonged to them, not the other way around. But she could sense that Zarha didn't have any bad intentions, and that she was just doing her duty. The young woman probably hadn't thought much about the dynamic between the kingdoms, and the hierarchy that went along with it.
She was also kind enough not to be offended by Aiza's question, and instead addressed her personally. It brought a smile to Imani's face.
"Are you here to train with Mama?" she asked. She didn't mean right now, in this moment, but in general. She didn't understand who these soldiers were and what they did here. "And is that man your husband?" She looked at the soldier that was talking to Isiah. The tradition of getting married young was still strong in Coheed, and she was used to people that were Zarha's age to be married with kids.

Zarha knew that Nevermere was in more a powerful situation however, she has been struggling with understanding politics, and she also hard to see her as more than just a soldier. In her head, at least a soldier followers orders and do what is asked of them. So it was kind of hard for her to see that she was in a position of power here
Zarha smiled looking at Aiza as she asked her question. It was generally really sweet... "I am here to train with your Mama." She explained. It truly been an experience to train alongside these women and it been a honour to work alongside them. She still trying to find her voice in the military field. Giving orders and leading has never been her strongest point.
Looking towards Isiah and the male soldier who was showing him his swords and talking. Zarha tried hard not to laugh but a grin was on her face. "No, he is not my husband. I am currently unmarried." She understand that women here are seen more of propieties so it might be common for women her age to be married, but Zarha doesn't know if she will ever settle down to marry anyone. For even a nevermere female commoners tend to merry around the age of 16 or at least try and get married as soon as possible.
Aiza started to move around so Imani set the girl down again. She was getting too old to be carried by her mother anyway, although she still liked to cuddle with Imani when she could. Imani was curious herself how the training with the Nevermere soldiers would go. She normally didn't fight with a sword, but it seemed to be the most used weapon in their kingdom.
Aiza nodded understandingly when Zarha told her she would be training with her mother. It did surprise the girl to hear that Zarha was unmarried.
"Don't worry, I am sure you will find a man while you are here!" the nine year old said. Imani placed her hands on her daughter's shoulders and squeezed them lightly. "That's enough, Aiza. Zarha doesn't need to get married if she doesn't want to. Why don't you worry about the fact that your brother is learning all about a sword while you're here, hmm?"
The girl pouted and ran off to bother her brother instead. "Children", she said, looking back at Zarha now Aiza was a bit further away. "They see the world so differently."

Zarha couldn't help but laugh at the girl's comment about finding a husband well she was out here in Coheed. Even if she find a man here that she find decent enough, they would be able enough to put up with her. She doesn't care that these men might be strong and tall. However they haven't interacted with someone like Zarha and it takes something to put up with her.
Zarha still smiled. "Honestly, I know what it's like I have four younger siblings. Winona, she is six years old she asks so many questions so I am used to the questions." She explained. She was thick-skinned when it comes to the questions children asked of her. "They truly do, we sometime forget what it like as children, we grow up and take on responsibilities." Even though they from different culture they might be some similarities in some areas. In that they have certain responsibilities.
Aiza had ran off and was now also talking to the male soldier while Imani and Zarha stayed behind. She had somewhat excused herself for Aiza's behaviour, knowing the questions and remarks her child had made could come across as intrusive. Luckily the girl seemed to be used to questions, and she explained that her six-year-old sister also asked a lot of questions. She smiled. Her youngest half-sibling was seven years old, so she could relate to siblings asking questions as well. Zarha probably didn't have fifteen siblings though. But it wasn't weird, it was just a different culture.
"You're correct", she said with a smile. "She's never met a woman who isn't from Coheed, so I'm sure she will be asking me a million questions tonight, before bed." She laughed softly.

Zarha looked towards the soldier who now have both children talking to him. He was trying to not be intimidating and kind towards the children as they were asking the questions. The male soldier seemed to really enjoyed talking to the children still being professional yet he want the kids to feel like he was approachable, that he wasn't to be afraid of because he was male nevermere soldier.
A part of her wondered if her brother was still alive, would he be here in Coheed with her. Would he going on missions with her, completing task. Life without their parent's easier, being able to raise four growing people from Six to Sixteen by herself. A part of her knows that she has to carry on to make sure that they have a better life than the one she grew up with. She knows that her reporting them gave all her sibling the best chance to a better life.
Zarha's eyes gazed looked back to Imani with a soft laugh. "If Aiza or even your son Isiah want to ask anything. I am truly willing to answer all questions. I am an opened book plus your kids seem wonderful." She smiled. "What is it like being a mother here?" She asked intrigued about there culture.
