Aldrich Abbott
The work day had dragged a bit slowly as Nadine waited excitedly for the night. She made sure to keep to her duties: she did want that promotion, after all. She stayed around for about an hour afterwards, sneaking a few looks with Aldrich during the day before swiping his key to prepare for their night.
Nadine stopped by her house to pick up some of her savings: her plan might be a bit pricey, but she deserved some fun now and again. She also fished out an old outfit she wore back when she and Aldrich began their benefits arrangements. She hoped it still fit.
Nadine rinsed and cleaned herself down completely, washing out her hair and fluffing it up a bit. She picked out her best jewelry, and spent a good while on her makeup. Everything, including herself, would be perfect.
Before leaving home, she also packed some of her ingredients for charms and potions. While she specialized in summoning, it was possible one of the other magics she knew might spice up their night.
Next, she went to the market, picking up a few things for dinner: beef from the butcher, some vegetables, a fresh loaf of bread and some spices. She was not the best cook, but she did know how to make a hearty stew.
She also paused at the leatherworker's, trying to remain professional and purely solemn as she measured and purchased belts and straps. The artisan seemed confused by her purchased collection, but did well not to ask any questions.
Finally, she made it to Aldrich's house. She hummed as she cut potatoes and onions, nearly singing aloud at some points with giddy excitement. She wondered if the Twofold Goddess had finally decided to show her some favor by entrancing Aldrich to her home a few days ago, or if it were just coincidence. Either way, she was happy. And for Nadine Machenet, that was a precious rarity that she held tightly to.
She left the stew to simmer over the fire, cleaning up the house a bit as it cooked. Making the bed and fluffing the sofas weren't strictly necessary as they were likely to be messed up within the hour or so, but it certainly provided a good stage for the show. A show indeed, as she laid the various leather straps and belts on the bed.
Nadine changed into her dress, adjusting the fabric to sit perfectly on her frame, before adorning herself with jewelry. Again, she didn't expect to be wearing it for long...but presentation was always nice. Plus, she hadn't worn anything pretty in years...and it made her feel confident. She had missed that.
Finally, she caught a glimpse of Aldrich through the window, walking up to the home. Unlocking the door, she took a few steps back and put a hand on her hip.
