The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
There had been plenty of times she had thought it. Had plotted the ways to get rid of the last remaining member of the Eldouir’s that had such a hold on her that she didn’t know how to escape him. The years of conditioning to believe it was all Hiram’s way or no way at all. That she should worship him, and she had. But the small offer of a freedom? A potential freedom of it all?
“He can do so much more now,” she whispered to him as if Hiram might hear her. “But, we could…” she glanced down at his hand holding hers, unaware of when he actually took hold of her hand. A small shock of static would run between them when realized the connection but she didn’t release him. “We could try to keep away for now.” Better than being locked up in Elderskeep. “But people will come looking for you. We couldn’t stay in Lorendale…” she murmured.

The shock of red static was almost familiar, it held its own pain as did...breaking bones...but he didn't flinch to it. He gripped tighter on her hands instead.
"what about your children?" it was another important thing to think about, Hiram's wrath was boundless, and if they did this if they left everything behind what unimaginable things could happen? This was another test to see if Myla truly wanted to shed away from the Eldouir. There...was also another matter...one that could and most likely would at some point. It lay hidden under his shirt.
The mention of the children made her flinch. She had always done her best to hide her attachment to her children. It wasn’t the Eldouir way, to grow attached. Most didn’t really know their parents until they were older and more trained, only knowing who they had come from. But Myla… she had always found an excuse to see hers. Blaming it mainly on their gifts and wanting to know what they’d be capable of one day.
“I…” Myla was a loss for words for a few moments. “I’d have to hope their powers would save them.” That they’d show more potential alive than an act of rage if she was to not return home. “He wouldn’t waste potential strong gifts.” Was she saying it to reassure Remiel or herself… she wasn’t quite sure. It was a lot for her, her hands tight in his. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, and letting it out slowly. “This is a lot.” She felt the pressure pushing down on her. “Us, this… fuck Remi.”

"There's something else Myla, you'll need to know about...it won't be easy...," Remiel let go of her hands to show unlace his tunic top slowly revealing the name carved into his chest...he braced for anything
It seemed it wasn’t over, her walls instinctively rising as he told her that she needed to know more. Almost six years worth of more, she tried to tell herself but she stared up at him with a slight panic. Especially as he released her and she tucked her hands under her arms, effectively crossing her arms over her chest as he worked to reveal…
“What is that?” She first thought that it was just an ugly scar. But as she stared at it she realized she could actually make out a word… no not a word… a name. “Who is Oriana? Why did they do this to you?” Because surely… “why would you let them do this to you?” He didn’t… he didn’t let someone carve their name or whatever the hell ‘oriana’ meant into him on purpose. Because if he had…

"It's what it looks like," Remiel admitted without a second thought, "It just kinda happened," in a blurred painful driven passion was what he had left off...
Her head snapped back, brows pinching together as she was slowly adding it together. At how he felt the need to show her…
She took a step back. Hazels lifting to meet his blues and she couldn’t hide the actual shock and anger that the name brought her. “Who is she?” She demanded, something she had no right to demand. But she did it anyway. “Who the hell is Oriana and why is her name carved into your body like she owns it?”

"She's someone whose stayed," he started she was very angry or he was imagining the increasing hum?
"She's someone I care about too," why wasn't he shutting up? was there a truth chewing up his consciousness? Was he testing himself with Myla? Did he love her enough to leave Oriana dry? Did he show her this name to make his choice for himself?
All he knew was this was going to hurt...that was the only certain.
“You were the one who abandoned me last time! Not the other way around!” She shouted, and then the truth was out. Six years… she should have known better. Another step back from him as her eyes fell back to the name.
“Why didn’t you just say you had someone?” She turned to grab the cloak, really grab it this time and swing it back over her shoulders. “You could’ve just said you weren’t going to leave, for fucks sake Remiel.” She felt her fingers fumble with the ties.
“Instead of making me feel like an utter fool,” Myla bit out.
She couldn’t believe what she actual heard. Even in her anger and her determination that she was going to leave, she turned stunned, her mouth partly parted and eyes wide at what he said. At how easily he told her good bye. A lone tear broke free, running down her face as she now had to swallow the fact that her hopes during this interaction had been brought up to believe something that had never been within reach for her. Something he had never intended to give to her.
Her power that had been almost rumbling through her suddenly vanished. Zapped the air of almost everything alive around her…. No not almost… but the leaves actually starting to wilt, the vines and the green turning brown and shriveling as she drew out every bit of living energy that made the home alive within a six foot radius. Remiel would feel some of the effect, suddenly like he was tired after a long days work.
It stopped almost as quickly as it had begun, her eyes blinking a few times as if having to shake herself out of what she realized that Hiram would have done had he been there. Destroy it all. Yanking her hood up, “so much for love.” was said in a tone that was too neutral for the feelings crashing over her and then she was gone in almost an instant, out the way she came and with her… a decay spreading across those yellow flowers. Draining… taking what she could of him even if it wasn’t directly from him.

Remiel had expected the outburst it was their way...he felt the energy from even within himself drain a little and rapidly. The Allemeade almost buckled to one knee but a vine caught him keeping him steady, as much as she took Remiel put back but he didn't stop her...he had made his choice again, the only thing left was did he tell anyone of her visit or let it go.
